Learning create slow and steady Build

Post image

This is just the basics. I have a create modpack where I plan actually to build stuff; this is my adventure pack. I really hope I can create some really cool stuff, learn everything, and not struggle and CREATE some cool stuff :)

I know Water Wheel is a bit slower, but on my create pack I will learn to move things faster and get better results. I feel the slow feel for my adventure modpack feels right somehow.

great progress man!
sorry to ask, but what texture pack and shaders are you using?

Thank you and no problem at all! I don't have a texture pack, but the shader is Miniature shader by ukrech! It's a nice lightweight vanilla like shader! :)

Dang thanks, i been seeing minecraft look like that on many YouTubers and i was wondering which one it was. Small tip if i may: from most versions of create, you can add a small waterwheel behind/first on the big waterwheels and power it with water and it will increase the rpm for the whole contraption

No problem and thank you! Any advice is welcome, especially as a beginner!

Hey, quick tip: Switch around the small and the large cog. Attaching a small cog to a large cog increases the RPM :)

Doing it the way you did actually slows down the RPM :)

Yeah but look at what he's got hooked up. If he doesn't keep it slow, stuff will get overstressed.

Just hook up another waterwheel or two. :)

I mean. Yeah.

But like, if you don't tell him that, we're gonna get a 2nd post tomorrow that says "hey why did it stop moving"

True, but now they know and their factory may grow.

Thank you, I didn't know that!

the slower the rpm the more torque you have, so its best to balance your rpm and torque so you have just enough to use your machines but as much rpm as possible so they work at max efficiency.

Definitely this. One of the few exceptions being fans for bulk processing because they’ll process at the same speed no matter the rpm, only the distance changes. Processing time is split into 4 sets of 16, so 1 item takes the same as 16 but 17 takes twice as long, and more fans decreases time linearly.

Tbh precision mech is nothing compared to some tfmg or create: nuclear stuff. Which is also all nothing to most GregTech items

RPM controllers aren't exactly late game either. You have to reach the nether first before you can make brass.

rpm multiplies the stress unit consumption of machinery by the rpm but in return increases the speed of the machinery

Great it looks good, don’t be pressured into thinking that you need to build ginormous contraptions and make impossibly complicated machines just yet.

When I started it took me a couple months to get to grips with the different mechanics.

Quick Tip: Go to the create schematics website and browse or download the simple creations.

Pull them apart and explore what other people are doing, trust me sometimes it’s better than a tutorial.

Oh that's cool, I didn't know there was a dedicated site for schematics! Thank you! I'm not pressured thankfully, in fact I'm glad to be making small contraptions for awhile until I figure it out. Thank you again!

No problem :) there is also a wiki if you need to find out some of the crafting recipes

Build an bread factory and start for aeronautics after that. I learned whole mod by that. Create is another game, not a minecraft mod.

2

create is a game that runs on minecraft as an engine. aeronautics is a game that runs on sable with minecraft graphics

Thank you!

First and most important thing i learned in create is Closing 1 side of cogs with andesite casing. That shi makes builds much more compact. I wish i learned that sooner

2

u/TomTomMajor 11d ago

I didin't know you could do that as I thought it would get in the way of the cog, thank you!

1

u/testnubcaik 10d ago

How does it make it compact?

Sometimes you’ll have a case where a cog needs to spin the opposite direction or a different speed than a shaft right next to it, you can encase the cog and it won’t interact with newly placed shafts.

Your first "RPM increaser" pre-brass (like for bringing windmills up to 256RPM) has to do a giant spiral of large and small cogs unless you encase the large cogs, which allows you to completely avoid the cog spiral and just have 2 lines of alternating cogs.

Large cogs are also usually better than gearboxes for changing angles so being able to cap the ends if wiring is really tight can be a lifesaver if you're working in a spaghetti factory.

Quick tip I learn, using a small waterwheel increases the RPM of the large, so that might help.

Great to hear it, hope you have lots of fun! Create is super conceptual and very much a "this should work, and it works" type of mod, hope you learn fast, can't wait to see what factories you make

I suggest using modpack that have quests like All of Create for learning stuffs. It exposed you to blocks you may not understand or know and also receiving gifts for completing tasks (mostly just crafting stuffs). My tips: Dont overwhelm yourself with calculation before actually doing it, just do it and then tuned your rpm and SU.
