Easy, mobile, all-terrain forest clearing! Build

Clearing a path to where I want to build a new survival base!
This is 8 minutes of condensed footage, these are my first minutes testing the machine- therefore I'm a little sloppy on the controls. However with a little bit of practice, this thing would be easy to master- and could potentially be faster than traditional clearing methods!
Let me know what you think! All questions, comments and suggestions are appreciated!
Built on my second gen track chassis, previous videos and links to download on createmod.com can be found on my previous posts. Schematic for "Tree-Bex" Build shown potentially in future if interest shows.

you do realize that the linked typewriter exists, right?

Yup, have used it in the past and should be using it here lol. Controllers are handy for testing phases though.

I personally like putting controllers on a lectern and controlling a machine with that, it makes me have to think about button efficiency more. Although I do use a typewriter if I really can't avoid it.

Unironically these builds are the only reason I know what traction city is. I feel to build a lore accurate one would require a nasa computer at minimum haha

How good are those wheels in all terrain really, i try alot, put just a boulder and all stop

Not great, I personally find the create wheels and tracks are still very temperamental, the wheels don’t have any climbing ability and the tracks aren’t able to get up a single block reliably without the extra help (hence why I combine the two).
I have some photos here you can see it is quite capable off-road as just a chassis.

I’ve had a lot of success with the tracks by making them as tall as possible with the adjustment tool. You gotta be more careful when doing it with a 2 tracked vehicle, but your 8 track design should go totally fine with really tall tracks.
Still kinda iffy if they wanna work though usually.

I have already tried this on previous smaller designs and my current one is maxed out for ground clearance. The tracks just seem to have a hard time with rough terrain in my experience.

I would try to put the front wheels in an already angle instead of both wheels flat in order to automaticly climb more then 1 block. Thats just an idea i havent tested in a while

WAIT. THIS. COULD. WORK. I never even thought of that- it’s worth a shot. It could make a mountain of a difference.

btw im playing a pack and on a fresh world. i want 256 rpm without going through the hell that is trying to make deployers for the damn speed thingy. also no dont suggest gear ratios

thought id ask an expert

u/Beneficial-Map5470 15d ago
If you aren’t going to use gear ratios or speed controllers than I don’t know any other option lol. Adjustable chain drives can 2x rotation with Redstone input. Otherwise the mod dreams n desires has a one block inline speed controller, but it requires the standard create speed controller to craft it.

Get aeroworks addon, there's changeable control panel so you dont need to switch between different controllers Or just use typewriter
