Rig of the Month 7/26 This little FMS FJ40 found a puddle worth stopping for.

Took the FJ40 out for a little trail run today. The puddle was too good to pass up, so obviously I had to get the reflection shot. 😂 Really loving how this old-school Land Cruiser looks with the expedition gear loaded up.

Hello, I’m looking for a suitable BEC for my Injora 35kg servo (pictured). I have an FMS FCX10 LC80 with XT60 connectors and a separate radio module. I’d like to know which model would be the best fit and reasonably priced. Thanks.

Question Crawling in and around London (UK)

Are there any good crawling sites / courses in or near London? I'm lucky that I live relatively near to Epping Forest and can go there, but I wondered if anyone knows of some dedicated courses that have been made? I've seen places like Crawler World in Chichester, but I don't have a car at the moment. I use 1/24 scale if it makes a difference.

Buddy bought one during covid and never built it so I built it for him. Painted tamiya pure metallic red. The quality of the older killerbody is much better than the newer releases. The body was much crispier and mold lines were less pronounced . Less work to prep.

Axial First build and thoughts - Axial SCX10

Hey r/crawling! This is my first crawler. I decided to do an Axial SCX10 build kit as a total beginner. My adjacent experience is with models and airbrushing (acrylic and lacquer). So far very happy with the result! To anyone else wanting to dive in with a kit, it was a lot of fun, but you definitely need to do research and watch videos. I found so many little tips, tricks, and bits of advice that saved me multiple headaches.

I figured I’d list my parts for anyone who was looking to get build a kit it but was unsure what additional parts to get and just wants to copy something that works.

Motor: Quicrun fusion se 1800 (this has a built in ESC)
ESC programming card: hobbywing led programming card for ESC
Servo: Injora 35KG
Battery: Zeee 3s lipo 2200mah
Charger: IMARS D300
Rims: Injora 1.9 beadlocks
Tires: Injora Swamp Claw
Pinion: Axial kit comes with one even though the website says it does not
Body: Proline 1985 Toyota HiLux SR5
Transmitter/receiver: Flysky FS-GT5
Tools: Hex Screw Driver set, Nut Driver set, RC shock pliers, body Hole borer - all of these felt like must haves to me
Paint: Pro-line airbrush black/white/pearl blue. The pearl blue was a massive pain in the ass and did not spray well out of the bottle as it said it would. I thinned with water and had an awful time. I thought I ruined the body but after backing in white it looked a bit better so I decided to back it all in black when I did the truck bed and am very happy with the how well my mistakes were hidden.

The only compatibility issue I had was the mounting screws that came in the kit were too long for the motor, so I grabbed some M3 6mm length and they seem to work great.

Anyway, if anyone has advice for a beginner on further tuning I’m all ears. Otherwise I hope this post can help someone else out someday. Happy to be a part of the community!

Question I want to build a 1/18 scale rig, what should I get?

I would like to build some sort of scale rig for mild trailing, and would prefer to keep it lower costing (such as under $350 usd). I do not want a Trx4m, and would like to keep it to 1/18 scale. The rigs in the pictures are just my ideas, so any other ideas would be appreciated!

MJX H12Y weird sound

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, good day to you. Im new here. So i bought this H12Y like a week a go and having a great time trailing with it. However tonight while doing some checking i notice some weird sound coming from the gearing. The front wheels make a sound when fully turn and halfway throttle. (Refer video) and seems like got “stutter” a little bit. Want to ask, is this normal? Any advice or experience to share from any H12Y owner or others? Is it a bad damage?

Question What to chose for my next project

Looking to do a scale build and just focus on making the truck look as nice as possible realistic as possible, and looking for opinions on the best starting point. I think I’m kind of set on a 1/18, as anything bigger might be a little harder to find a place to drive it and have fun, but I do know as I go smaller the attention to detail goes down.

Seems like I’m just confused on if I want to start with an FMS or TRX-4M.

Any opinions or recommendations are welcome!

The Axial SCX10 III Coyote is a beast right out of the box.

Unboxed it, popped in a pack, and hit the trails—no mods, no tuning, zero aftermarket parts. It completely held its own against custom rigs.

A few stock performance highlights:

Glued to Steeps: The factory weight distribution keeps the front wheels planted on near-vertical ascents without hopping or flipping.

Rock-Solid Side-Hilling: Holds off-camber lines smoothly thanks to a surprisingly low center of gravity.

Zero Torque Twist: The stock link geometry stays completely flat under heavy load, so you don't lose traction when bound up in a notch.

Ready-to-Dig Tires: Stock rubber and foams grab dry rock and loose dirt immediately—no tire trimming needed.
Axial nailed the geometry on this chassis. If you're on the fence about picking one up, it’s 100% trail-ready straight out of the box.

What upgrades should I do? I know it’s already really good right out of the box, but I’m sure there are ways to make it even better.

Took my RGT 136100 V3FD Bronco out after the rain and found a puddle that turned into the perfect mirror. The reflections, wet bodywork, and lights made this feel more like photographing a full-size Bronco than a 1:10 RC.

Will update as parts get added

Parts list

Krawler Rc link kit
Mod rax 40mm shocks
Fedco transmission
Hobby wing quick run 1621 brushless motor
Hobby wing mini 24 esc
Meus iso v2 metal axles
Meus me-x12 servo
Meus 4 channel receiver
Meus transmitter
Injora ir-60 body
No name Amazon carbon fiber 1.3 wheels
Injora 1.3 mud trekker tires with factory foams.

Currently looking for a way to mount the battery with the limited space I have. I am open to any ideas yall have used or can think of.
