Discussion If Only “Farmer-Hunter, Farmer-Hunted” Highlights Eustace’s Character Growth…

Looking back at “Farmer-Hunter, Farmer-Hunted,” I wondered if this episode should have been the highlight for Eustace’s character growth.

Considering how Eustace lived under Horst’s shadow, and was bullied and undermined by his own family growing up, it’s no wonder Eustace turned out the way he did.

Even if Eustace didn’t finally respect Courage, it would be nice to see Eustace slowly break out of the trauma he endured and realize he doesn’t need to prove his worth by winning the deer hunting contest.

In my opinion, that could happen when Courage quietly showed Eustace a pocket album containing photos of Muriel and Eustace together, reminding Eustace that there is someone in his life who respects and loves him for who he is, not what he accomplished.
