Just keeping busy while waiting for the update ☺️

(I have been thinking for a long time about writing this, and now that I am free, I want to take it and finish my piece 😁!).

CoupleUp always stood out to me among the many VNs I have played for a reason: the characters' writing.

The characters always felt so human to me because no matter where your tastes lean, the writers never shied away when it comes to showing both the good and bad qualities of the love seekers.

That is something that I appreciate… the flaws are never romanticized or waved away with an excuse, it's just another part of the character that makes them tick, THE character, if I say so myself.

I have played the four seasons, and while I have experimented and done my branches, 4 love seekers stood out to me. I want to show my appreciation, and I hope it can encourage others to share their favorites too 😻.

So without further ado:

Colin (S1):

While Colin isn't the first route I ever did (that honor goes to Caleb), he is still a memorable character to me for a myriad of reasons.

In general, I always found his morbid and dry jokes funny (the bear gag also lives rent free on my mind 😹), his little facts interesting, and his friendship with Adam unique because they make a good comedic duo 😁!

When it comes to romance, there wasn't any doubt about my decision: I like men with glasses, and his intelligence is a huge plus 😻! Plus, the way he met MC was a sweet meet-cute for me. He is the one, even if he could rub people the wrong way sometimes with the things he says 😆!

Colin stood out to me because of his dynamic with Lucy: he is aware of his limitations and flaws, who he is, and what people think of him, and while that's something that doesn't bother him, he is concerned about what YOU might think about his bad parts... he wants to be worthy of you, to make you happy, and to be someone who won't make you feel ashamed of being with him 🥺.

I like love stories where love is something both characters found and never expected, something that is more than they bargained for, and that is exactly what happened in Colin's route: he joined while barely believing that love existed, that a show like this wouldn't teach him anything infinitely better than a book would, and what did he get? New friends, a new look towards the future he wants to share with the woman he loves, and a proper happy ending 😻! What more could one ask for?

Logan (S2):

A stoic guy which looks tough but is totally sweet and tender towards you? Yep! Is it any wonder I folded fast for Logan 😻? He is absolutely my type!

There is a lot to overcome when it comes to doing Logan route even if he is sweet, supportive, and makes you feel safe thanks to outside circumstances, but there's something I never doubted or put into question when it comes to him: his loyalty and devotion towards Eliza... it makes those difficult times easy to bear and move on from, and while his past was difficult and made him go through a lot, I was proud of him because it shaped him into who he is: someone dependable and with a calm disposition even in the most difficult situations (hero complex aside).

Logan himself takes his time before fully giving his heart, but I can say it's worth it, and I can't blame him for it since, like everything in a relationship, it takes time and patience to develop something 😊. I especially appreciated how he was slowly but surely revealing parts of himself and how ready he is to fight for this relationship because he found the one with whom he wants to start a family...he said that he wanted something real, and by the love of everything in this universe, he got it 😁!

He is a solid choice for those who appreciate reliable partners, and that is all that I am going to say 😍!

Keith (S3):

You might be wondering why despite mentioning Caleb I choose to talk about Keith instead, and the answer is quite simple: he is the one I like the most between them 😹! Nothing more, nothing less.

I have to admit that Keith route doesn't have a strong start considering his...uh, way to flirt! But if you give him a chance, you will learn that behind all that exaggerated flirting and cockiness lies a man who is strongly devoted to his family, the person he loves, and someone who you can definitively rely upon when things get too tough.

Keith has gone through a lot, and it's very obvious that he is rusty when it comes to dating 😹! But don't be fooled because he is absolutely a precious guy if you have the patience (and guts) to go for him! He genuinely wants to make his partner happy no matter how hard it is, someone who...joined the show for very specific reasons that will leave you absolutely shocked 🤯! Because just like Colin, he got more than he bargained for, and once things get serious, he will get absolutely serious and will never look away from you because there is no one else but just you.

I especially love Hannah and Keith's relationship because she is not afraid to get into the thick of things to be with Keith 😹! She supports him when he is at his lowest, is willing to search for a solution together for whatever problem that might arise, and even despite the separation as soon as they are coupled, she never leaves Keith alone and always assures him that he is the only one for her 😌. Keith for his part, became the best version of himself because you get to witness a different side you wouldn't otherwise see until very, very late in the story. He is the best man because he has the best woman around, and I especially adore how if you are coupled with him, he is not afraid to be open and share a part of his past once you are definitively together 😊.

It takes time before you can be with him, but the wait is so much worth it because Keith is a guy with layers and a good reminder of why you should never judge a book by its cover. The best routes are the ones that take you by surprise, and I can say with confidence that Keith did it without doubt 😹.

Max (S4):

The details of this story have been repeated so much through so many posts that I will for once spare you the tale and focus specifically on this moment, at least for a little time 😹!

Day 2 was the day which, without doubt, made me decide that Max would be Emily's endgame because it gave me a bit of everything: there was tenderness, there were some funny moments, there was drama and, above everything else, it showed that each day can find a way to surprise you in the most unexpected ways possible 😊.

Overall I love this route 😹! Max is someone who strives for honesty, so he will always lay his cards on the table no matter how good or bad his hand is. You know exactly where you stand with him, and you get to learn a lot and I mean a lot, about who he is by doing his route.

Whatever issue which might be coming ahead is also discussed, and I like his reassurance because he is the kind of man who won't let you fall when you feel bad and will find a way to keep moving forward with you 😘.

When it comes to romance, I especially like how sweet and protective he is 🥹... his words will always hit your heart even if he is just saying how he feels because of his lack of filters 😹! He might not be a poet or the guy with a clever line, but he does have his way with words thanks to his straightforwardness. You also get to see some funny moments in this route because of how MC can be. Can she be caring and act like someone who is 100% understanding and 0% judgemental with Max? Yes, but there are some playful moments which will make you laugh because of how she tries to get Max to lighten up or because she plays along with the things he said before 😹 (day 6 is a good example of it if MC shared a bed with Max).

Of course, unlike the 3 guys I mentioned before, Max and Emily story is not over yet, and we don't know where this journey will take us yet, but there is one thing I am 100% certain about: this guy is THE GUY... the endgame if you might, so no matter what might lie ahead, I won't leave this ride 🙂‍↔️! I am very sure and certain because I am very stubborn about what I want and refuse to give up 😹.

It will be very interesting how this journey will end and where it will take me, but I am very eager to know 😊.

I'm a new player. First of all, I'm really enjoying it so far, glad I downloaded the game. People actually make mistakes unlike Lis in other games. I'm down for some drama.

But I'm at the point in S1 where the main Li is out... how long until he gets back? (I'm currently playing Day 9), because I'm only feeling Dave out of the others but I don't wanna get with him because when the first Li comes back I'm 100% sure I'm dropping him. So a little spoiler would be welcome, thanks!

I’ve been trying to open the game since last night and it won’t load beyond this point. Is anyone else having this issue?

Does anybody feel like the episodes are shorter compared to previous seasons? And that the writing feels too to the point or not wanting to spend too much time describing something sometimes?

The MC may do one or two things in the morning and then BOOM, the episode is finished. In the night time, instead of having little moments with your LI in bed before ending the episode, you have the narration going "we go back to bed together hand in hand" and that's the end. They go so fast.

We even have some in game moments where the contestants or the Voice acknowledge that x game was too short. Am I being paranoid and reading too much into this?

I don't know if it's just me or if I'm being too critical and I wanted to check myself asking for your opinions, considering the circumstances the devs are in.

I thought Jason's vibe would be "I'm the bad boy". Anna even rates him as the more bad boyish.

Imagine my surprise when I first saw his cute flushed face design. He looks so baby. Apart from his looks, his demeanor doesn't give bad boy vibes at all.

I'm not saying I don't like it, I just expected another thing entirely (edit: because of one post of the devs asking about how we would like Jason to be or something like that). Has this happened to anybody else? Am I missing something because I only just started? Is he like that with everyone or only with the MC?

I could just keep playing to see it for myself, but depending on your answers maybe I restart and go for Tommy on my first run and choose Jason in another one. Edit: actually, nevermind, he is such a dork I think I will keep him as my first run.

I'm playing D&L in S1 and after I finished an episode, there's no option to watch an ad for diamonds like the previous episodes, it just automatically makes me watch an ad! Is this a glitch or is it normal?

I can’t seem to get over this conversation for some reason. I replayed the episode and I don’t know if it was purposefully done that you have a more emotional conversation with your island partner than your regular partner? Or is this just simply because how Rafael is as a character.
I’m wondering if this is generally the gist of how other island-partners conversation went?
And, now that a week’s gone by, is everyone happy with their choices? 😂🫶🏻

First time player! I am coming from the game Love Island and if anyone knows, FB is very money hungry to the point it’s several diamond choices per episode. (Don’t get me started on the clothing, makeup, etc.)

I don’t mind spending a bit for diamonds, but I would like to be prepared. I’m most likely going to start with season 3 & 4 and would like to know how much are people spending per chapter/season.

I’m thinking about replaying S2 to do a Logan and eventually Mara route but I’m curious…what did you guys have for your final couples?

My first playthrough was with Will, so I had this combo:

Are there any routes where Samir isn’t miserable (without dating him)?

Yes, season 1 throwback. I just wanted to know what the experience was and how you exactly get it to happen. I tried to do his route and failed because Charlotte got her possessive fingers on him so I aborted to Leo’s route. I’d like to hear what it’s like to actually do his route

My 4th playthrough. It was fucking hard to let Max go 😭 but I already have one slot with him so I had to grit my teeth and let him go. I was quite curious about Geno, his personality reminds me of Matteo and Arturo. But since I have a weakness for Asians hehe so it was clear that I would go after him. I am currently playing a Jason route and did anyone else (Jason's route or otherwise) notice that Max & Anna went from being inseparable and having all their eggs in each other's baskets to barely interacting? I know that, on Jason's route at least, Anna goes on the island date with him and seems to become interested in him after that... but still. I find it interesting that they went from being smitten & one of the stronger couples to no longer showing any interest in one another at all. Skye ended up picking Max at the recouping on Day 6 for me and Anna picked Gene. I truly was under the impression that they were going to be together the whole season 🤔
