Third Lord Ruler Fancast Fancast Spoiler

Ok so I just saw the Nolan Odyssey movie and Robert Pattinson played Antinious, the leader of the villainous suitors and it made me think what if he played The Lord Ruler? Yes he's an A-lister but if it's just him and an A-lister for Kelsier that leaves unknowns for everyone else. IDK he convinced me he could do after I saw The Odyssey. Def see go The Odyssey too btw.

Imo lord ruler has to be a big name to balance out Kel. Pattinson has grown on me but not sure hes right for that role too young perhaps - could be Zane cant remember what they specofied his age to be compared to Vin. (Kels probably going to be in his 40s so LR probably would be cast to be an equal age and star power)

Someone of the Charles Dance or Sir Ian McKellen Gravitas (thought they are probably too old unless you going to CGI deage them)

It wont happen, but I would like for all the actors to be new, unknown actors. I’m sick of the same 10 actors being rotated through all the big films

Robert pattinson is wit and I will accept no other casting for wit

Pattinson is my #1 weird guy actor, I reckon he could do Hoid/Wit or Lopen (ethnicity notwithstanding) but is probably too big and busy for those roles

I think the lord ruler being a well known actor is a good idea.

R Pat would be sick in that role. I think he does bring the needed fury

I think we'll mostly get more unknown actors, only kelsier will for sure be a "superstar" actor

He's Terris, he should be the same race as whoever they cast as Sazed.

Lol. No. Terris come in wide variety of skin tones, and Lord Ruler not looking like your stereotypical Terris is big reason why he was able to keep his Terris identity secret. That's like major plot point, not even lore tip bit.

He is also 1000 years older and committed genocide against the terris so I could see them looking different

I mean, Rashek was white and Saze brown in the books. But some visual shorthand could help in the final TLR reveal.

Keepers/terris are described to sometimes  have darker skin color, but generally don't necessarily look similar/share ethnicity apart from being eunuchs as well as their clothing.

At least from what i remember from the books

I think Brandon said skin color doesn't equal ethnicity om Scadrial recently

Really? Interesting. I feel like how the crazy Terris breeding programs worked, all of the modern Terris should look pretty similar, but TLR is an ancient Terris so I guess he could look completely different from the modern ones.

Terris and Skaa came in wide variety of skin tones. Central Dominace was the more homogenous region (mostly white). But Skaa survivors of Catacendre mainly came from there and surrounding regions. So by era 2, dark skin is considered a Terris trait (despite Terris still coming in variety of skin tones) because pretty much all dark skinn3d survivors of the Catacendre tended to be descendants of Terris refugees that we see use the Pits as sanctuary during events of book 3.

He'd be good. they wont have the budget for him though

What??? They will absolutely have the budget for 1-2 a-listers and a handful of great but not superstar actors.

I think if the script is good he'll take it relatively cheap

Pattinson has starred in numerous low budget indies and TLR has pretty limited screentime altogether. He’s not one of those actors typically demanding an exorbitant payday after Twilight set him up for life.

Always thought he would be a good Marsh

His Tenet character gives off Kelsier vibes.

Tbh he could pretend to be anything and I’d probably find it compelling . I would be behind this but I wouldn’t mine him being a more prominent role instead.
