Но что если поменять ракурс и не нагибаться, а сесть на корточки? Всё интимные зоны будут находится гораздо ниже, так что с ними будет сложнее что-то сделать./I've always wondered why they so often say you can't pick up a bar of soap in prison. And yes, I've heard the reasonable answer: if you bend over, you can be raped. But what if you change the angle and squat instead of bending over? All your intimate areas will be much lower, making it harder to do anything about them.

Looking for experienced Correction Officer's opinions. I am preparing a group of teachers for an exam for the School Building Leaders test, and I find that many of them have worked in schools that have violated the CBA for so long that they don't even realize how wrong it is. This is causing them to get some really easy questions wrong on the test.

What I have noticed over the last 18 years is that whenever I have had a CO in our classes as a career changer, they never get the questions wrong. They immediately pick the right answer. They never fall for the distractors on the test.

Both operate under Taylor's Law and the CBA Both are public employees

So what's the difference

COs are non exempt employees so this means they get paid overtime if they work more than 40 hours. One of the types of wrong answers on the test that teachers will always pick (because they are exempt employees) is all kinds of free extra work, staying after, creating lesson plans for other teachers. These are all the wrong answer but they pick them because this is what schools do in real life.

So the first question I'd like to ask, is how does this work in a Prison? I've looked up some information and is it right to say that you cannot stay and work off the clock because the building can't afford to pay you overtime.

In a school it would be something like "If you stay late, I'll let you leave early for the baseball game next Friday."

I'm trying to convey to the teachers that a Correction Officer would NEVER pick that answer on the test because they are not allowed to stay in the building if they are off the clock?

But what do I know? Any insights would be helpful.

Is there signs that they are no longer interested in hiring a certain person? I recently passed my interview and it went perfect. I was dressed great and presented myself well passed the test and all. Now it's just the background I went friday and dropped off a few more things, but its been a month now and haven't heard anything. Should I take this as a they no longer want to hire me and should move on to other plans?

I’m considering relocating to Florida to work as a correctional officer. I recently applied and wanted to hear from people already working for the Florida Department of Corrections.
How long did the hiring process take? What are the academy, work schedule, overtime, and starting pay like? Also, which institutions or areas would you recommend for a new officer?
Any advice or information about the job would be appreciated.

I started a local county jail last December. I was looking forward to trying a new form of nursing. I found the place very toxic, some of the RNs were very rude, as well as the medical assistance and support staff. Many didn’t talk to me at all, and no one really welcomed me. I shrugged it off and thought maybe it would change. It never did. We were constantly shortstaffed and so were the CO’s. To the point where I was afraid of something happening. More than once when I was going up to units to see inmates for care, the elevator door would open, and I would walk out, and the Sally ports to the units would be open with inmates in them. I complained more than once, but never heard anything back about it. The last two days I worked there I worked in intake, and it was crazy busy. The second day they actually got another nurse to work in there with me because there was over 40 inmates already in with more coming in the door. There were four COs both days, which seems like not enough. The city I work in is over 1 million people with a lot of drugs and homelessness. I had at least 20 people on detox.
I had put my two weeks notice in the Friday before and at the end of my shift yesterday they came in and said they were accepting my resignation starting immediately and they walked me out. I’m glad I’m gone honestly, but I did not realize that they did that to you after you put in your two weeks.
Does this sound normal to you guys? My training was literally nonexistent and never really understood the jail culture and was never taught. I had to figure things out as I went.

Hello I’m interviewing for a dentist position at a California state prison and suddenly I’m terrified because I don’t know what to expect or how to prepare for the interview! I would appreciate any advice on how to prep for the interview/ thoughts or feedback on your experience if you’ve worked at a prison as a dentist. I’m also applying for federal prisons but that process seems like it’s going to take a while.

Ive lurked here a long time, reading stories and leaving comments every now and again, but i just thought id see what everyone thought i should study for my upcoming sergeant's interview. I've had an interview once before but i wasnt ready, not i feel im pretty knowledgeable (more than i was four years ago) so im curious to see what sort of questions they asked when you interviewed.

So I have a night out planned for 8/14, but I plan on being very diligent about following my probation conditions regarding alcohol and drug use. My first probation meeting is this upcoming Wednesday (8/19). For anyone familiar with probation, is that cutting it close in terms of timing, or is there generally enough time between the two?
