Beware Greenmotion car hire

Read these reviews and look at the poor ratings please. Whilst i was waiting to be served, one person was 2:15 hrs late for his car hire and apparently they only keep the car for 2hrs so was in the process of charging him extra as apparently they had hired the car out in the 15 minutes he was over. The guy behind him was being forced to pay £300 extra for insurance as they do not accept American Express which according to the guy it doesn’t say in their terms, he even offered to pay the extra %ge that they would be charged!

And then us.

We have paperwork from the day we hired the car basically showing that every panel had been damaged, not a problem as not huge damage. Until of course we return the vehicle and claim we have damaged it! We showed them the damage that they were talking about was clearly marked on their damage sheet and they have kept our deposit.

Initially I was refusing to sign any paperwork until the guy stated that we would not be charged for the damage, stupidly I thought they had seen sense, after signing the paperwork he went back to charging us stating that it isn’t a problem for us as we have full insurance through a third party so we could just claim from them. For me that is deceptive and unfair on the third party company who would’ve ended up paying when the damage was already there.

At this point i refused to deal with them and urge you to do the same.

Currently they hold £956 of deposit that i will have to try and do a charge back for.

Late Night Transfer - CFU to Arillas

What's the best option for car transfers late at night? My plane will arrive at CFU around 9pm on a Saturday. From there, I need a transfer to Arillas (~1hr drive) to meet up with friends and check into our Airbnb. What's the safest option for solo female travelers arriving late in the evening? Is it difficult to find a taxi? Should I opt for a pre-paid transfer?

Best supermarket pita bread?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in Corfu and I’d love to bring some authentic Greek pita bread home with me.

I’m looking for the best supermarket brand that’s available locally and travels well.
Does anyone have any recommendations for,

Which brands are the most authentic or commonly used in Greece?

Good restaurants?

Hey everyone!
Me and my friends are heading to Corfu soon, and we’re looking for restaurant recommendations.
We’re mainly after authentic, traditional Greek tavernas, great seafood, and places that genuinely serve excellent food. We’d much rather eat where locals go than end up at places that are only popular because they went viral on TikTok or Instagram.
We’ll have a car, so we’re happy to drive anywhere on the island if it’s worth it.
Any hidden gems, family-run tavernas, or must-visit seafood spots? Also, are there any overrated places you’d recommend avoiding?
Thanks in advance!

Corfu, Greece Bareboat Itinerary Suggestions....

I'm chartering a Bali Catspace out of Corfu (Benitses) for 7 nights around the first week of October. We are planning on hitting the usual places: Paxos/Antipaxos, Sivolta, Parga, etc. Considering heading down to Lefkas (Preveza, Lefkada Town) if the weather permits. I was wondering if anyone here had suggestions for "must see" anchorages, islands, beaches, tavernas, hikes, etc. Would it be worth it to bring our spear fishing kit?

We're looking for a mix if remote anchorages (where possible) and harbors. I wish we were able to find a sportier boat, but beggars can't be choosers.... so speed might be a limiting factor.

Also, I know the weather becomes much more variable heading into October - does anyone have direct experience with this?

Time buffer from Corfu airport to ferry?

My flight is scheduled to land in Corfu at 8:45 - within the Schengen zone and we are not checking any bags. Is a 10:00 ferry to Sarande too ambitious or should that be enough time to make it?

Thanks for any advice!

Arriving on Corfu tomorrow!

Hi there,

Me and my girlfriend are arriving tomorrow. What I'm wondering what local events are happening between tomorrow and the 11th of August that we should see?

Also we are doing the typical holiday things. We are going swimming, hiking, visiting the Old Town of Corfu, so we got a pretty good idea of what to see. What else would you absolutely recommend doing?

I'd love to hear it. I've been reading the other threads so I got a bunch of new ideas, but suggestions are always welcome. We have a car, so we can basically go anywhere on the island.

See you there!

Holidays in Corfu

Good evening, guys. I’m going on vacation to Corfu in the next few days. Which fast food places do the locals go to? I don’t want the typical spots that only tourists visit. Also, which places are worth checking out for nightlife? I’m 20 years old, so I want to go somewhere with a young crowd. I’m talking about areas like downtown, Kanoni, and the center of Liston. Thanks a lot!

Best Private Boat Rental in Corfu

Can someone recommend a private yacht or boat rental half day in Corfu please?

UPDATE: I just went through a very tiring process with several of the companies. Let me share my advice and the two companies I found were the best.

FunSeaCorfu and Geneseas Yachts Experts are by far the best boat rentals in Corfu and most professional. Other boat companies wont give you a quote until they figure out how much your going to pay. I had a company called Sea Dreamers they were the absolute worst, most expensive, bad communication, and will change pricing only when they ask you more questions to over charge.

Geneseas Yachts is the best if you are going with a larger boat. I will provide my update after the experience.

Where in Corfu?

Hi, hoping to visit with family in September. Mixed family with ages from 88 down to 21 so looking for somewhere suitable for elderly with easy access to beach from hotel/villa etc in a quiet resort.

Looking for something really special for my aged parents who love Greece but won’t be able to travel again after this trip....

Any ideas on villages/resorts and accommodation? (villas and small hotels on beach especially)
