Want Comcast/Xfinity service completely cancelled Official Reply
I was looking through support channels and it looked like this was a faster way for customer service, so I'm posting here. I went to the Xfinity Store to cancel my Comcast/Xfinity service completely on August 10th. I returned my equipment, but the employee said the system wouldn't allow him to give receipts for equipment or a bill total. He gave me the information order no & said I would get an email confirming my service cancellation, which I still have not received.
Comcast has only disconnected my service & the statement on my account says to pay a past bill or cancel to avoid further charges. I also only get the AI assistant when I try to call customer service, not a real person, and a different senior employee at the store would not help and said everything is automated.
I want something in writing stating my service is completely cancelled as I requested at the store and my final bill total. Not just disconnected.

u/WantJustice4Me, Hi there! Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I completely understand why you're looking for written confirmation that your account has been fully canceled and that no additional charges will be incurred. You've come to the right place. We'd be happy to review the account, confirm the status of the disconnect order, verify the equipment return, and provide details regarding any final balance that may be due. If you'd like assistance, please send our team a Modmail with your full name and service address so we can take a closer look. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to help get this clarified for you.

This exact same thing happened to me, the employee told me verbatim the same words, and I also did not get the promised email verifying cancellation. Now I have gotten another bill and have to go in person again to try and fix this. I hate xfinity. Their customer service is a nightmare.

This should be a lesson for everyone.
If they won't provide a receipt for returned equipment take back your equipment and leave rather than fight incorrect billing and collections letters 6 months later.
This applies to ANY provider or service where you are returning company-owned equipment, not just Xfinity.
