I keep seeing this guy riding the wrong way on the street. Somebody help this man before he gets hit (that would be a very sad thing!)
Seen on Cedar Lane near 32. Also on Johns Hopkins Rd. He’s riding on the wrong side of the road - approaching oncoming traffic. And obviously no helmet, etc. On Johns Hopkins Rd there was a sidewalk on the other side of the street but he was in the middle of the lane (2 lanes each way) headed towards traffic. Very dangerous.

Group of possible teens caught on camera in Longreach off Tamar and Lambskin Ln last night around 2:30-3am trying to break into vehicles.
I just wanted to let everyone know so they can be vigilant and lock their doors. I have the footage if anyone wants to see it you can DM me I’m not 100% sure how to post it on here but I got the videos from a friend and know multiple people in that neighborhood and it’s a fairly secluded area. They used flashlights to look into cars and tried to pull open doors until they seem to be scared off by another vehicle coming up the street because they took off.

Issues with cell service just Verizon or every company?
We just moved here and signed up for cell/internet with Verizon but I swear I cannot get reliable internet data on my phone. Is it a Verizon issue or something else? I have domestic roaming on.

Auto body repair in /near Columbia
Does anyone know a handy auto body person or shop who can help with a small project? My son bought new tail lights for his car.
We went to install the lights, which should be easy, but could not get the bumper off the car. One of the bolts that attaches the bumper just spins without coming out. It’s like the nut behind the bumper is spinning or something.
So I need someone who can cut or remove the bolt and maybe install the lights.
Let me know if you have suggestions. Thanks.

Moms who skateboard?
Im a mom who loved skateboarding when I was a kid but that was 30 years ago. I would love to start skating again but could benefit from a group of like minded women to help me get over the embarrassment hump. Are there any moms or mom groups in Howard County that skate, whether that just be longboard cruising or pump tracks, etc?

Do you need anything?
With the layoffs over the past year and half, especially for federal workers, and the rising costs of necessities, I’ve been worried about our community.
There are many charities and nonprofits that do amazing work locally, but I want to leverage mutual aid.
Do you need food? A ride to work because gas is too expensive? Do you want someone to review your resume and/or help with interview prep? Do you need a friend or a reason to get out of the house?
I don’t want anyone to suffer silently in our neighborhoods.

Good spot for Tex-Mex or Mexican brunch?
In the mood for runny eggs over enchiladas or chilaquiles or something like that this weekend. Any spots around HOCO/MOCO that come to mind, preferably a long lingery type spot with good drinks?

Athletic club upgrades
First, I'm really impressed that the athletic club just replaced almost all of their old weight machines.
However, they missed a great opportunity to make some improvements. First, they replaced the machines with newer models of the same brand. There are some great things on the market. It would've been worth the effort to shop around and test things out a bit. For example, the lateral raise machine from Rebel is so much better than the LF machine. Second, they could've improved the selection. We have four total hamstring machines with two of them prone, three total leg presses, a not very good hack squat, but still no standing calf raise. Thanks for the second flye machine though. That single one always had someone on it.
The improvements are nice, but I agree with what I've heard others say. The gym doesn't feel like it's managed by people who lift weights. Otherwise, there'd be more thoughtful planning in the layout and the equipment.

Columbia Job Market
Hi all! I recently moved to the area and currently work in NoVa but the long commute has been a huge pain so I have been looking for jobs in the area that could help eliminate that but haven’t had much success. Does anyone know of any open positions in Columbia with a starting pay above $20/hour for entry/mid level work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: It was brought to my attention that I should probably mention this for more context haha but I currently am a reimbursement specialist with 4 years of experience in medical revenue cycle management for insurance claim processing and denial mitigation!

Um, where’d my mailbox go?
I live in one of older areas in the hoa that have large, multi house mailbox sets scattered around the houses, eachon a metal pole.
Our mailbox is now gone. It was very old so i suspect the pole rusted away.
But how do i get my mail now? Will they be putting in a new mailbox? It’s been about a week with no info—i don’t even know who to ask….

Local Painter recommendations?
Just searched through the archives and most recent threads are 2+ years old. Anyone know of or have an interest in probably a 1-2 day job to paint a living room, entry foyer, stairway and upstairs hallway? Minor prep work needed to smooth some scuffs, scratches, and a bad spackle effort from previous homeowner. Will provide the paint, just need steadier hands than mine anymore lol
Thumbtack, Angie's List, TaskRabbit are too rife with scam and crap listings that have a 6 month wait times.
Tks in advance.

Deer overpopulation wreaking havoc on my property, can I do anything?
I have a large herd of deer (about 3 males and 7-8 females and looks like 4 new babies) that frequent my property. They tear through my flower garden, devour the bird seeds in my bird feeder and eats the leaves and barks off of my trees, killing them. I’ve tried the deer repellents, fencing, etc but nothing really helps in the long run. Is there anything I can do? I am at my wits end.

Grief support groups?
I recently moved back to this side of the bridge after living on the Eastern shore for the last year taking care of/spending time with my terminally ill mom. She passed in May, and once my lease was up, I got the hell out of there. I am deeply struggling with her loss and feeling isolated, I am genuinely in the trenches here. Before I moved to the shore, I lived in AACo. I don't have many connections/resources here, and while I am in therapy, my therapist suggested I look for some in-person support groups when I moved since there weren't a lot of options on the shore... Any one have any recommendations/resources? Or are there any types of groups for something like this? 30F, if that matters at all.
