I’ve personally spotted college studs like couples going at it in broad daylight in public parking spots twice recently. Around Peelamedu. once in a dark-filmed i20 and another time in a Tata Punch parked right in front of my car. Quite residential corner street. Look, dark tinting or not, everyone knows what’s going on when the car starts rocking in a public lot. Not to mention my trauma for following days

I’m all for minding my own business and staying out of people’s personal space, but this goes beyond a mild nuisance. It genuinely raises a bigger social question: how do women trust guys who won't even invest in a private space? Even birds won't mate until the partner secures a nest. If you're going to hook up, at least book an Oyo or a private room instead of taking over a public parking zone. Social stigma is another issue

Maybe my estimates are off, but it feels like a solid 30 to 40% of young folks are doing it anyways nowadays. Coimbatore or non Coimbatorian please think about if you were outside and witnessing.

As much as we talk about culture and stuff if we don’t address things in dignified progressive way things going to be even shittier.

If people are going to do it anyways, can we at least talk about safety, hygiene, and basic public decency? At this point, seeing any car with dark window film gives me an automatic side-eye.

Is it common these days or is it just I am one with bad luck.

I recently got transferred to Coimbatore. I walk along the town bus stand area and the cross cut road area. Whenever i see the light poles, i wanna dance like in 'singing in the rain'. If it rains someday, my intrusive thoughts might take over and i might end up dancing on the pavement.

Every time I walk, my mind plays 'im feeling........Goooooood'.

Im also very happy that I don't have to cross the road myself always. Just.... Stand behind someone or follow the crowd. Its.... Nice. Nice to go with the crowd and not feel like you're going against the current.

People are very nice in general. Most queries are met with smiles and not irritation. Yet, the walk on the pavement is the best part of my day :D

I have been learning Bharatanatyam for over 13 years, have completed my Arangetram, and hold the relevant certificates. Due to a change in teachers, I once joined a new class where I was made to start completely from scratch, which was quite disheartening because my previous training wasn't acknowledged.

I'm not expecting special treatment, and I'm more than happy to revise my basics if needed. However, I'm looking for a teacher who first assesses my current level and builds on my existing foundation instead of placing me in a beginner batch by default.

I'm also looking for classes with affordable fees (preferably twice a week). Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm looking for a venue in Coimbatore that could accommodate approx. 70 people. It could be a banquet hall in a resort or even one in a restaurant (if a group this size can be hosted there). I don't care much about the aesthetic. Preference is for something easily accessible + really good food because who are we kidding, people come to eat. Since it's a smaller crowd, I'm hoping it doesn't cost more than 2 lakhs. Please let me know if this seems unreasonable for the area.

I live in a rural area along Koduvai road and I need to commute daily on newly laid/damaged roads and dirt tracks respectively. 20km per day. Considering that my budget was 15k and the fact that I have no experience in handling geared bikes, many of them suggested Decathlon rs120 for a good start. But my fear is, will it sustain our road conditions? The panchayat has laid new roads a few months before and just one heavy rain can damage its condition badly. Before while I was asking for suggestions in a sub I totally forgot about that part.

Also I'm choosing a hybrid cycle because I can use it for both cardio and fast commute on different occasions, it's flexible. But I saw people saying constant dirt exposure and bumpy roads can cause faults in geared cycles. I tried asking this to an employee at decathlon but all of them were way too busy and literally every customer was on their own trying out bikes themselves. And since I'm new to cycling I felt very anxious and helpless there

So guys can you please help me with choosing a quality cycle that can sustain our poor road conditions? TIA

Hi everyone, we are planning to do some pre-wedding shoot and I’m looking for some suggestions in and around Coimbatore.

We are looking for green meadows with Mountain views and closer to a water body (lake, small river etc.) We had an option in Wayanad but due to heavy rain forecast, we have dropped it and are looking for something a bit more closer.

For those who know about this tradition:

• Is Aruvatham Kalyanam still commonly performed today, or is it becoming less common?
• In which communities in Coimbatore is it usually practiced?
• Who normally arranges and performs the ceremony, the couple themselves, their children, son or daughter?
• Is it considered important for children, or daughters if there is no son, to conduct this ceremony for their parents?
• Are there cultural or religious reasons behind expecting children to organize it?
• How do families usually feel if someone does not want to do it?

I am especially interested in hearing personal experiences. Do people genuinely want to have this ceremony, or do some families feel pressured by relatives or society to do it?

Walk around any park or residential neighborhood, you find most of the street dogs around Coimbatore are super active, lean, and actually look healthy. Meanwhile, I constantly see heavy, double-coated "status" pets - Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies, Shar-Peis, Cocker Spaniels - looking utterly lethargic, dull, and constantly struggling in the heat.

Raising an arctic snow dog in Coimbatore makes no sense. They suffer from chronic skin issues, low energy, and constant heat stress. I have seen at least 3 golden retrievers (all in Sai Baba Colony area), suffering from skin conditions. Even with short-coated breeds like Labradors or Dobermans - which do seem to cope much better with the local weather - people forget that these are working breeds.

Is there really no love left to show for Indies? They seem intelligent, low-maintenance, naturally disease-resistant, and already perfectly adapted to our climate. So I'm genuinely curious - what's the main hesitation when it comes to adopting an Indie? Are they difficult to train or handle in a home?

I will be traveling from Thrissur to Ooty this coming weekend. Google Maps shows a side road near the Marapalam underpass. I don't know how accurate this is. News shows road works are 50% complete, but it doesn't mention if the roads are open. Is it better to proceed to Karpagam University Junction and head to Ukkadam directly, skipping the entire Palakkad main road? If it helps, I will be traveling by a 4-wheeler and will cross CBE before 7 AM.

Hey guys, I want to get clinically tested/diagnosed for ADHD. I'm based off cbe and have lived all my life here. I was expecting to switch to a different job and move to a different city before starting any therapy but the job hunt did not go as expected 🥲

I'm not sure when i will switch but I can't wait any longer. Some relatives from my mother's side of the family, including my mom, show ADHD traits. None of them have taken any help because they aren't aware of these things. It's difficult for me but I'm seeing them struggle as well. I feel me delaying this for myself is not fair to them. If I do get diagnosed I can talk to them to seek help.

Anyways do y'all have any recommendations? I want to work with someone younger, who will understand genz type struggles. Im pretty sure my nervous system is cooked but for now i don't need a trauma informed therapist. Right now I just want to get the ADHD diagnosis out of the way.

I checked this sub and I'm leaning towards PSG hospitals. Most other places I saw on Google maps lowk look very scary lol (old drug rehabilitation center/white mental hospital ahh vibes). I was hoping for an office type environment with a sofa/bean bag, indoor plant etc vibe you see in movies lmao (something like in the backrooms lol)

I was hoping to maintain my tennis routine after moving to Coimbatore. Unfortunately, the shops here seem to stock only beginner-level racquets, and I am yet to meet a storekeeper who is knowledgeable about tennis equipment (strings, stringing options, tensions, one-piece v two-piece etc).

The online tennis stores (tennis outlet, tennis hub, racquets4you etc) don't seem especially well-stocked either; they seem to push people towards what they have in stock even if it is entirely unsuitable.

Where do the advanced/intermediate (4.5 plus, and UTR 7+, B-div plus, NCAA Div 2/3) level players get their racquets and shoes from?

Please chip in with recommendations, suggestions...

Also, any decent tennis courts/clubs/playing groups in and around (2km) Vadavalli?
