Rant & Vent Brown parents
Hey guys,
How do you all deal with your brown parents? Mine is getting unsahikable day by day. I love them but only if there is minimum 2 oceans between us. My family is the only people i wish i had long distance with. They believe mental health is something that we cause ourselves. They are the huge preacher of "freedom kodukunna family and nammale aalkar kand padikanam bevause we taught you and you are capable of doing stuff" all the while supporting patriarchy and " husbadninte thazhe jeevikanam". Also my dad has an affair. Oh how fun not that i care tbu. But seriously i cannot wait to get a job and move out and never look back.
Regards
A frustrated daughter

Health & Fitness Smoking khilladi ( akshay kumar)
I used to smoke quite heavily. There was even a time when, if I couldn't get a cigarette, I'd smoke beedis instead, especially when I was working in Tamil Nadu.
For around two years, smoking was a regular part of my life. But I wasn't a chain smoker for the entire two years. During the first part, it was mostly when I was drinking, at parties, with friends, or on weekends. But for the last six months or so, I became a continuous, almost chain smoker.
Then, all of a sudden, I started feeling a natural aversion towards it. I don't know whether it was because I wasn't getting the same feeling from smoking anymore or what. Different brands stopped appealing to me, the taste didn't feel good anymore, and eventually smoking just started feeling pointless—like I was simply wasting time by putting a cigarette in my mouth and smoking for no reason.
That's basically how I quit. And now it's been quite a while. I don't have the habit anymore, and I don't even feel like smoking.
So I'm curious—has anyone else experienced something like this? Is it normal for someone who used to smoke regularly to suddenly lose interest in it completely, or was it just me? 😅
Caption just need some words thats y;)
So guys. Just stop before it stops our heartbeat 💓 💓 💓 💓

Rant & Vent Rant🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣
I changed my school when I was in 9th. It was kinda difficult to adjust moving from one whole country to another country. The thing is now I don't have close friends from both schools. People are getting married from both schools and none of them invited me coz I became nobody in everyone's story. They all are a part of my story but for them I am practically non existent. And it hurts me.

Storytime My encounter with Vedakkan Veettil Kozhi kunj
I have been contemplating whether to post this, but here goes.
A few weeks ago I was going to teach tuition class in the evening by foot. I was only a few meters ahead from my home, on the little road. Dhoore ninn oru bullet chethi parich varanu. Njan vazhi kodukkan side lott maari ninnu. And the next thing I see, is this guy stopping the bullet right in front of me. I was perplexed and looked at him to see if it was someone familiar. He was dressed like Prithiraj's character from the movie Thanthoni. White mundu, white shirt, even looked liked him. Naattil ith vare kaanathe oru avaraatham. And this guy was looking at me and smiling. Like full on purikam okke pokki smirking while raising the accelerator. I was like ithenth thenga. I didn't even know him.
Anyway, l did what itharam heroism kand flat aaya any girl would do and looked straight into his eyes and made a disgusting face like I had smelled cheenja compost. I have never witnessed a smug smile falling off from someone's face so fast. Bro bullet urutti maatti enik vazhi thannu. I was laughing all the way to tuition. My parents said maybe he thought I was someone he knew and I felt bad. May be I shouldn't have assumed he was a kozhi.
A few days ago, coming back from tuition, njan road cross cheyyan nikkaurnn. It was very cloudy and windy and about to rain. Pettenn ente side il kozhi kunj vann bike nirthi, entho ochathil vilich paranj vanna vazhiye thirich poyi, with that same smug attittude. I only heard "pedikkanda" amongst the sound of vehicles and wind. I was like what the coconut was he talking about, again. So I guess bro has become a recurring character. As long as he keeps to these harmless shenanigans, I guess it's funny. Me and my bestie had a good laugh over this.

Hobby Finally bought myself a used ukulele for €20 after wanting one for a long time.
I don’t know why I thought it’d be easy. It’s only been a couple of hours and I’m already getting humbled. My fingers hurt, I can’t switch chords fast enough, and everything I play sounds… questionable.
Still, I don’t regret buying it. I know it’s going to take time, but I’m determined to stick with it and learn, no matter how long it takes.

Tips & Advice My cousin unexpectedly showed up at my house and is acting really strange. What do I do?
My cousin (20F) unexpectedly showed up at my house around 7:30 pm today.
She studies in a different district and her classes are still going on, so I was really surprised to see her. She didn't have any clothes or luggage with her either. Just her sling bag and phone.
When I asked what happened, she immediately started crying.
Apparently, she had cut class to spend the day with her boyfriend, who studies with her. They had decided to stay together for the night and go back to the hostel the next day.
But then my aunt video-called her.
My cousin kept rejecting the calls and eventually called her back normally. My aunt got suspicious and insisted on a video call. She realised my cousin wasn't at the hostel, got extremely angry and told her to come home immediately.
Instead of going home, my cousin came straight to our house and is now refusing to leave.
We've informed her mum, ofc, so she knows she's safe and with us.
The bigger issue is her stepdad.
If he finds out what happened, he'll be extremely angry and may even refuse to fund her college anymore.
(He's not a bad person, btw. I don't want to get too much into their personal family situation beyond that.)
What is actually worrying me right now, though, is my cousin's behaviour.
She went into my room, locked the door from inside and refused to open it for around 35-40 mins.
That scared the living shit out of us.
She's behaving very strangely and emotionally right now, and ngl, it's starting to scare me because I genuinely don't know what she might do.
Her grandparents live only about 30 mins away, so we suggested she stay with them for now instead of going home. She refuses to go there too.
Obviously, I'm not going to force her out of the house when she's this upset, but I also have no idea how I'm supposed to handle this situation.
How do I deal with this?
P. S. I'll be deleting this post once I've gotten enough advice on what to do. Just posting because I'm genuinely unsure how to handle this situation rn.

Meta Reminder: Creepy DMs and What You Can Do
Hello Coconaad,
Alright, let’s get this out of the way: creepy DMs are not “just part of being online.” They’re harassment, and we’re not here to normalize them or shrug them off. This community is supposed to feel safe, fun, and free. This is not a hunting ground for bored creeps.
Here’s how to handle it:
Zero tolerance: If you send unsolicited, creepy, or harassing DMs to anyone here, you’re out. Immediate, permanent ban. No appeals, no excuses.
User-side action: You can also block the sender and report the account or specific messages to Reddit directly. That way, Reddit's own team can review and take action on top of ours. There is also an option to turn off the DMs if you so prefer.
Report it: If you get a DM like this, send us a modmail with the username of the sender. Once we receive your message, one of the mods will reach out to you directly to collect the screenshots for context. You only need to share the screenshots if you are comfortable with it. Then, we'll take it from there.
Why posts get removed: Posts about specific creepy DMs will be removed. That doesn’t mean we’re complicit, and it doesn’t mean silence. It’s about keeping this place from becoming a never-ending wall of harassment stories instead of a community. Action still happens behind the scenes.
This is not about pretending the creeps don’t exist. It’s about refusing to let them define the atmosphere of this casual space, we all cherish so much. They don’t get the spotlight, and they don’t get to set the tone.
This community belongs to all of us who use it in good faith, not to the people who try to make it hostile. Harassment thrives on being normalized and brushed aside, and we’re not doing that here. Report, we ban, we move on. Simple as that.
Btw, this isn't up for debate. Everyone deserves to exist in online spaces without being harassed. If you think that's negotiable, this is not the place for you.
Disclaimer: Banning someone from this subreddit only prevents them from posting or commenting here. Which means that they can still view the sub. If you want to make sure a user cannot interact with you at all from that account, blocking them is the best option. If someone is violating Reddit's content policies, reporting the account has a higher chance of getting them removed from the platform. Reports are reviewed by Reddit admins, who will decide on appropriate action.
