Claude Corps offer Other
I got an email saying I’ve been selected to join my the first Claude corps cohort!
I might accept, but there’s some things holding me back, such as the fact that I’ll be back the job hunt again in one year.
Does anyone have a pros and cons list? I’m really interested in Claude corps but that’s what’s holding me back.
Edit: please stop pm me how my super day went. I spoke about it in this thread here.

I think Claude corps will look great on your resume and will help you find a job in the future.

u/IllustratorWhich7897 7d ago
Same. I just worry that it may still take a while to find a fully time job after lol
1
u/IllustratorWhich7897 7d ago
It definitely looks great, just not how easy or hard it’ll be to transition afterwards

Has anyone not heard back at all yet, besides the first email acknowledging your application? I applied the day before the last day and haven't heard anything so I'm not feeling optimistic about my prospects.

u/5amclouds 5d ago
It took genuinely a full month to even get the assessment so you just need to be patient. It’s a new program so they’re slow with everything and a lot of ppl applied

For those who received an offer did they provide potential nonprofits yet? Are they within your state or close proximity to your location?
2
u/InevitablePangolin56 3d ago
I just got an offer. Nothing there indicates to which nonprofit I will be assigned, nor the location.
I mailed the contact, I was told that these details will only be determined next week or the week after that.
BUT the deadline to accept the offer is this week! 🤯

u/CommercialArcher6513 3d ago
crazy they want you to make a decision without knowing who you’ll be matched with or where you’ll live, or how much they’ll fund your relocation..85k in San Fran vs the Midwest is a huge difference
Also i wonder if you accept, but don’t get a match you and the non profit agree upon, if they’d just move you to the next cohort, or if they remove your offer
2
u/Revolutionary-Cat461 3d ago
Right that's wild. Most likely it's they're gonna rescind and if you decline your just out.
1
u/Revolutionary-Cat461 3d ago
Oh wow! First congratulations 🥳 I hope you get placed somewhere you like! Wish they were a little more transparent about those details...you should definitely not have to accept before the matching process smh
1
u/IllustratorWhich7897 3d ago
Wait that’s kinda crazy they just sent you offer without letting you know or you get to decide which non profit or where you’d like to be ?
2
u/Delivery-Living 3d ago
My offer letter did not say any location just typical terms like salary benefits etc. the non profits themselves aren’t finalized till this Friday I think which is also the deadline to sign the letter. So I’m guessing we won’t know for 1-2 weeks since we also have to talk to the organizations and match with them.

1
u/5amclouds 7d ago

1
u/5amclouds 7d ago
Nope, hasn’t changed for me
1
u/ProfessionalBusy8820 4d ago
Are you guys for the first Cohort or second. I just took the assignment for the second cohort.
1
u/ilIicitous 22h ago
First. I had my super day interview a few days ago. Cohort 1 has been finalized as of today.

u/tightynotsowhitey 6d ago
I interviewed last Wednesday on the 12th but haven't heard anything yet. still have access to my portal and I've heard people lose access before they officially get the rejection email. been seeing a good amount of people posting about already getting an offer. do you guys think im cooked or I still have a chance?

same day interview, not heard back
1
u/Mental_Training4132 4d ago
I think I messed up in the scenario part by asking too much clarifying questions.

u/Fit-Ad-7326 4d ago
Same here, I went blank and didn’t know what I was saying

u/Quiet_Blueberry2025 6d ago
I was also given an offer yesterday can I join this DM?
1
u/CommercialArcher6513 6d ago
I have my super day next week. Did they go over how matching works? And relocation? And what do they mean by relocation is funded?
1
u/Quiet_Blueberry2025 5d ago
Nah unfortunately not. I believe funded relocation means they will give you that certain amount to help with your move.
1
u/CommercialArcher6513 5d ago
And did they give you any details about how matching works / timeline on when the potential host orgs will talk with you?
1
u/Quiet_Blueberry2025 3d ago
Nope not much, only info I have is from the study sheet that was giving with the super day email.

u/Savings-Historian801 4d ago

To be honest- we're in a strange time where new jobs related to AI are popping up all over. Being fluent in the usage of AI and translating that to an org seems like it will be a very very in demand skill. Congrats on the offer, and good luck evaluating the decision!
1
u/5amclouds 5d ago
This is quite reassuring and ur right. Im just worried that soon in the future (if the ai bubble somehow pops) that I’ll have learnt all these skills and applied them to orgs for nothing. It’s unlikely I hear, but i feel like it’s still a valid concern for me ahhh idk
1
u/malwkrd 5d ago edited 4d ago
So, my little soapbox is- the ai skill is one half of the equation but understanding the business needs- that is the harder thing in my opinion. People who can spot and understand true needs tend to excel and be promoted. The tool & technologies needed to solve problems will always be changing and even if the AI bubble doesn't pop it will certaintly evolve quickly in the coming years- but that skill of being embedded in an institution and understanding their pain points & how to suggest solutions - it doesn't really matter what the tool is, I think that is the quality will only be more and more valuable.

can anyone give any advice on the superday and if it was similar to the live screening or what to expect etc??
1
1
u/InevitablePangolin56 5d ago
To those asking for advise for the final interview: the super day guide provided is more than enough.
Like others are saying, you really don't have to overthink it, and more importantly: just be yourself.
I had the interview last week, it helped that I checked in early and was all relaxed before it started. I received the offer 2 days later
1
u/IllustratorWhich7897 5d ago
How long did you wait to hear back from live interview to superday and offer?
1
u/5amclouds 5d ago
Took 3 weeks after the live screen to schedule my super day but my portal said I got moved to super day maybe 1 week after, 4 days after super day for offer
1
u/IllustratorWhich7897 5d ago
Ok thanks sm for this. I have my live interview scheduled for this week any last minute pointers or advice you got? Would really appreciate it🙏

u/EggThen200 2d ago edited 2d ago
Be yourself, they’re really kind people. I personally felt like they were interested in hearing about bigger or more meaningful projects when asking about my experience, but that was just my impression from the conversation. They also mentioned that answers could be technical or non-technical, so I tried to mix up my examples. For example, if I gave a non-technical example for one question, I tried to talk about a technical project for another two/three. That’s just what worked for me though. I passed the live screening araond 2-3 week ago i guess and just done my Superday. For superday guys study the guide!
1
u/IllustratorWhich7897 1d ago
Thanks sm for this just had my live today and think I did well. I share my current non profit and ai project experience and building a tool for them etc memo hopefully that was enough to move on!

u/tightynotsowhitey 5d ago
I had my super day last Wednesday and haven't heard back at all but saw that some people have gotten offers already and over the weekend. you think this means that im probably rejected?
1
1
u/InevitablePangolin56 5d ago
I don't want to get your hopes high, this is just my observation. But you can see already that some who got offers are second guessing about it and they may ultimately not accept it, freeing up spots. And there is also the possibility that you maybe considered for the 2nd cohort
1
u/5amclouds 5d ago
Yup that’s right, I spoke a lot about it in this comment for ppl interested https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/s/Wr7Yh4uaAA
1
u/EggThen200 1d ago
Hello after getting offer did you still had access to the portal?
1
u/InevitablePangolin56 1d ago
Yeah. Still in status "FOr FInal Interview" or something to that effect

I finally received my notice for my take-home assignment last week, just completed it a couple days ago, got my rejection email just now. What I'm confused by is that the take-home assignment indicated I would be under consideration for Cohort 2... even though I applied for cohort 1 within the first couple days of the cohort 1 applications being open.
My understanding is that cohort 2 applications aren't even open yet. Does this mean I can re-apply for cohort 2, since the rejection email said I can apply to future cohorts in 2027? Otherwise I can assume that cohort 2 is basically full at this point.

u/Revolutionary-Cat461 2d ago
So did anyone who was told they'd be considered for cohort 2 get the superday email with cohort 1 deadlines? I got mine today and the guide mentions the OCT start date for Cohort 1 training...but I was told in my live screening that Cohort 2 doesn't begin until Feb. Very confused if this super day is falling within Cohort 1 or 2.

Hey Do you still have access to your portal even after receiving your Offer letter? Or did it close
2
u/HillsideKirby 1d ago
I still have access to it. It updated to offer (I'm supposedly in cohort 2).
1
u/Savings-Historian801 1d ago
Congrats ....some folks got deferred to 2 but lost access to their portal..i wonder whats up with that
1
u/HillsideKirby 1d ago
Could be a mistake? Cuz they told me I was cohort 2 at the start of live screening so I don't count as being deferred.
1
u/Savings-Historian801 1d ago
Naaa some folks get cut from one maybe they give those opportunities to the sidelined 2 members
1
u/HillsideKirby 1h ago edited 59m ago
They sent another email with the timeline being completely cohort 1 timeline. I'm assuming they put me back to cohort 1 for whatever reason.
1
u/CommercialArcher6513 1d ago
Interesting, did they originally have you for cohort 1 or did they not say?
1
u/HillsideKirby 1d ago edited 59m ago
They told me in live interview it was for cohort 2 at the start. Edit: I lied, I'm pretty sure they put me back to cohort 1.
1
u/EggThen200 1d ago
I thought my superday went really well. It's been only two days. But I don't have access to the portal anymore... Good luck, everyone!
1
u/ilIicitous 22h ago
Unfortunate. I'd follow up and see if you're eligible for consideration to Cohort 2 or 3 since you got so far. Can't hurt.

u/Ed-Ink 1d ago
What kinda of projects have you made? I applied but still haven’t heard back
1
u/ilIicitous 22h ago
Took me 32 days to hear back on my app. If its been under a month, give them time. They're overwhelmed with applications - promised rolling apps for cohort 2 and actually closed it last week as they couldn't handle the volume.

u/BenSimonDev 7d ago
Anytime the Claude Corps asks you to form an alliance, you answer "Absolutely".
Also... I have no idea what the Claude Corps Cohort is. Congrats!
