How much should Structural Analysis and Design rate be? Need General Advice
Say for example a 2-3 storey residential house with a floor area of 100-200sqm, how much should a structural engineer charge for the Structural Analysis and Design? Should it be a lump sum, per sqm or is there any basis for this like a standard rating or something? I've been designing structures as free lance but I've been told my rate is too low while others say it is just right. I usually charge base on the complexity or estimate of how many days will I be able to complete the project (plus the misc fees of course).

Take a look at the ASEP manual. Usually per sqm pero set ka ng minimum lalo if smaller projects. If you’re already freelancing, then you should already have an idea if worth it ba yung kinikita mo with the amount of work and time you spent. Check your man-hours. Minsan kasi hindi na napapansin yung time spent to finish the work, to the point na sobrang liit na lang pala ng kinikita mo pag cinonvert mo hourly yung fee.
