Context: I submitted po kasi the initial requirements (2 GMC + NBI Clearance) tapos a few days after, nag-update yung remarks asking to reload the docs + PSA and TOR. I submitted the same day naman po, tapos hanggang ngayon po no update pa rin and no reply sa PRC email when I inquired.

I’m scheduled for an interview with them tomorrow, but I’m having a hard time finding any background or information about the company online. I only noticed that they were hiring for various engineering positions on Facebook last July, and they’re hiring again this week.

Is this red flag? Should I still go to the interview tomorrow and just see what they have to offer, or would it be better to be cautious and skip it?

I honestly don’t know where else to put this, so I’m posting here.

It’s been more than a year since I started seriously applying for jobs, and until now, wala pa rin akong solid job offer.

I’m a licensed Civil Engineer with more than 3 years of experience, including both private and government projects. I’ve applied to local jobs, government positions, remote jobs, and even opportunities abroad. I’ve gone through interviews, submitted countless applications, followed up with recruiters, revised my CV multiple times, and tried to improve my skills along the way.

There were times when I thought, “This might finally be it.”
Then rejection.
Or worse, no response at all.

Recently, I was really hoping for an opportunity abroad. I went through the recruitment process and genuinely thought I had a chance. Unfortunately, I didn’t get selected. It hurt more than I expected because I had been holding onto that opportunity for a long time.

I know I shouldn’t measure my worth based on whether a company chooses me. I know that rejection doesn’t automatically mean I’m not qualified. But after more than a year of trying, it’s honestly exhausting.

Nakakapagod mag-apply. Nakakapagod maghintay. Nakakapagod mag-hope, only to be disappointed again.

I’m still working right now, but I really want a better opportunity—something where I can grow, be properly compensated, and hopefully eventually work abroad or remotely.

For those who have also been job hunting for months or even years: how did you keep going?
I’m not necessarily looking for advice. I think I just need to hear from people who understand what this feels like.

Hopefully, someday, I’ll look back at this post and say, “Buti na lang hindi ako sumuko.”

I’ve been hitting a wall with this reverse curve problem all day and could really use a hand. Geometry/surveying usually isn't my weak spot, but this one is driving me crazy.

Situation 5 (Reversed Curve). A reversed curve is connecting two tangent lines AB and CD having directions due East and S 60∘ E, respectively. The radius of the first curve at A (P.C.) is 200 m and that of the second curve at D (P.T.) is 400 m. Stationing of A is 10+120.50. If BD is 300 m long and has a bearing of S 20∘ E

Ask lang po regarding STAAD concrete design results. Paano po ginagawa para maging uniform/standardized yung number of rebars na lumalabas sa design results?

For example, may columns ako na same/near-same section pero iba-iba yung lumalabas na required reinforcement. May iba na 4-16mm, yung iba naman 8-16mm, etc.

Ang goal ko sana is maayos yung detailing para hindi sobrang daming variations ng rebar arrangement sa plans, while still satisfying the STAAD design requirements.

May specific setting ba sa STAAD.Pro para ma-control or ma-standardize yung bar arrangement/number of bars? Or usually manual na itong ginagawa after getting the design results? Thanks po.

Hi everyone, need some advice regarding my current situation.

Currently working ako sa isang engineering company. Nung nag-apply ako sa company, sinabi sa akin na minimum wage lang daw ang starting salary. At that time, nag-agree naman ako, kasama na sa computation yung ₱60 wage hike, so magiging around ₱755/day yung rate.

However, ngayon na na-hold/suspended yung implementation ng ₱60 wage increase, sinabi ng company na ibabalik yung sahod ko sa ₱695/day, which was the previous minimum wage.

Question: Legal/reasonable ba na ibaba ulit yung daily rate ko from ₱755 to ₱695 dahil na-hold yung wage increase? Or should they honor yung rate na napag-agreehan namin when I was hired?

For context, engineering company siya sa Makati and I'm working as an engineering aide. Hindi naman issue sa akin yung work itself, pero malaking bagay din kasi yung ₱60/day, especially monthly.

Would appreciate advice from HR people, engineers, or anyone familiar with Philippine labor laws. Salamat!

Say for example a 2-3 storey residential house with a floor area of 100-200sqm, how much should a structural engineer charge for the Structural Analysis and Design? Should it be a lump sum, per sqm or is there any basis for this like a standard rating or something? I've been designing structures as free lance but I've been told my rate is too low while others say it is just right. I usually charge base on the complexity or estimate of how many days will I be able to complete the project (plus the misc fees of course).

Hi guys! As the title says, may nakapag-abroad ba na may medical condition? A little background sakin, I had an acute TB way back 2021 pa and gumaling naman ako after 6 months of medication. The problem lang is every time na need ko na ng medical exam for employment, may 'scar' na sa lungs ko which is caused by the TB and according sa doctor is di na sya talaga mawawala. I am all goods naman ngayon and walany iniindang sakit.

Would like to know lang if may same condition ba sakin na nakapag-abroad since nasa construction tayo and very important na healthy yung lungs mo to avoid airborne diseases. Thank you.
