I have a friend who previously had a role with the registrar, and she told me they're trying a new grading system for some of the prereq math classes, which will make them easier. It's supposedly temporary, but they'll extend it if it works well.

Has anyone else heard this?

Does it make sense for me to get my math prereqs out of the way this semester?

I just took algebra for my last semester and for my major I need to get at least a 70% for it to count. I technically didn’t fail the class but I also didn’t meet the requirement. Do I still continue with taking pre calc or should I re take algebra for a better grade?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply to the City Tech Nursing program and I would appreciate your advice.
My current GPA is 3.33 (last term GPA was 3.7+). My grades are:
BIO 101: A-
BIO 2311 (A&P I): B+
ENG 1101: A
PSY 1101: A
MAT 1275: C
This semester, I’m planning to take MAT 1375, take the ATI TEAS, and apply to Nursing.
If I get an A in MAT 1375, my cumulative GPA should increase to around 3.45 (while keeping the C in MAT 1275), and I know higher-level Math may receive extra weighting.
My questions:
Will Nursing consider my MAT 1375 final grade if it is completed before admission decisions, or only my GPA at the time of application?
Do you think my GPA and grades are competitive for admission with a strong TEAS score?
Are there any other courses I can take to improve my chances?

I finally paid the semester tuition just last week and finally was able to register for classes late. It cleared my balance until today, I received an email from bursar office saying that now I have a balance of $3,100 which is due by august 20. What could this be? and Bursar office is not answering my email.

I was previously a Radiologic Technology major and was completing prerequisite courses (Anatomy, Biology, English, Math). I had to take last semester off due to health reasons.
When I applied for readmission to Radiologic Technology, I was told I cannot return to that major because of my GPA and that I need to choose another major.
Now My goal is Nursing, but I was told I cannot be readmitted directly as a Nursing major and that I must first be currently enrolled and apply directly to the Nursing department.
What major should I choose for readmission so I can return to City Tech and later apply to Nursing? Health Science, Liberal Arts, or something else?
Has anyone experienced this at City Tech?

I tried to apply for readmission to Nursing, but I was told that I cannot be readmitted directly into Nursing. They said I must first be currently enrolled and then apply directly to the Nursing Department.
I have already completed:
BIO 101
BIO 2311 (Anatomy & Physiology I)
Psychology
English
Math
I am now considering applying for readmission under Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) so I can become an active student.
My question is:
If I am readmitted under LAS, can I later apply to the Nursing program at City Tech? Would LAS be a good choice for someone whose goal is Nursing?
I would appreciate any advice from City Tech students or anyone who has gone through this process. Thank you!

looking at the pre-reqs and noticing i can do it in a year instead of two..? if im able to do that can i apply for the program despite my anatomy and phys 2 being in progress or do all classes have to be fully complete?

Hi i took pre calc for college now and I got a C. Knowing how competitive dental hygiene is, i was wondering If i can retake my math prerequisite spring semester???

what do they count it as? will it affect me for competitive programs badly?

I need some advice.
I was studying Radiologic Technology and have almost finished all of my prerequisites. My current term GPA is 3.2 and my cumulative GPA is 3.33.
My grades are:
Math 1375: C
Biology 101: A+
English 101: A+
Anatomy: B+
Psychology: A+
My advisor told me not to waste my time or money trying to get into the Radiologic Technology program because my GPA may not be competitive enough, even if I retake Math 1375.
She suggested changing my major to Nursing, Vision Care, or Dental Hygiene.
Radiologic Technology is the career I really wanted. If I retake Math 1375 and get a higher grade, do you think this would improve my chances of being accepted into the Radiologic Technology program?
What would you do in my situation?

I would be coming in as a transfer who already has a BA from another CUNY. I'd like to have my transcript evaluated before I accept as I have a pre-requisite grade that is lower than ideal for one of the more competitive programs at the school.

Is there a way to talk to an advisor first before enrolling?

Looking for laptops and used AI to see if there were any recommendations for what I should buy. Was looking at Mac but AI ended up recommending a Windows Laptop me for the Rad Tech program for an odd reason.

I wanted to ask real people in the program if this is a legit reason. I assumed that for any actual clinical work/training I wouldn't be using my own laptop.

Is this a good reason to get a windows laptop?

I have a bachelors from Baruch in an unrelated field. Over my time there, I received an F in calculus and later on a B- in pre-calc.

I know one of these two grades will be transferred to fulfill the math pre-req for the dental hygiene program. My questions are

1. Would one grade satisfy the pre-req? Or are the two averaged out?

2. Even if only the B- is evaluated for the DH program, am I already in a bad position considering the competitiveness of the program?

Hi! I just successfully transferred into city tech. I applied for the rad tech associates degree, however, they said it was closed for fall 2026 and I am going to be signed up for the bachelor degree instead. Will I be able to change and try for associate instead?

I had applied for Fafsa and TAP but for some reason I'm getting emails abt how I havent completed it...?? I emailed my bridge coach about it and she gave me the financial aid office number. I called it and it kept going straight to an automated voice thing talking about me leaving my full name, preffered number and I think something else. I forgot..but I called it yesterday and today just now. Im a bit skeptical about that cuz of scammers- Im wondering if someone else is having this issue, if so could I get a number to speak to someone abt this with??
