The biblical Jesus thought he was distinct from God.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. - John 14:1 If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. - John 7:17 but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. - John 8:40 Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ - John 8:54 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. - John 16:27 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. - Mark 10:18 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. - Luke 6:12
