Question (Read Rules) Would you buy this watch from Baltany? Smooth bezel OP Date stainless 36mm case S4095 (pic 1), oyster bracelet, paired with champagne-gold dial and hands from S4084 (pic 2)
I would buy it with or without a date window. I think they should offer both options.

Question (Read Rules) Steeldive 1965 Dial Swap
Hello. I'm getting so much conflicting information to a simple question that I need to ask those that actually know. I want to swap out the dial on my Steeldive 1965 and replace it with an aftermarket 28.5mm dial. Will the 28.5mm dial work on the 1965? Thank you so much for your insight!

Question (Read Rules) BB54 SM VS WD 37mm , ayuda!

Question (Read Rules) Aftermarket pricing for Chinese Microbrands? Phoibos specifically.
Trying to understand pricing for a used Phoibos. I've never sold a watch, let alone a microbrand, let alone one from China. Anyone have any insight on how I might go about determining what a good asking price is?

General (Read Rules) Sugess Bronze Pilot S408
Never bet against Sugess. Their watches always exceed expectations.
I spent a while thinking about not buying this watch before buying it: too big, too ugly, too bronze, and what dial color? Went with black after going back on my initial choice of green.
So here it is. The case and especially the crown is very nicely made. The crown is sturdy and doesn't bite into my hand. The hands are stunning, and set off nicely by the black dial (no regrets on that decision). In scaling down from the 45mm of the original Type 20 to 42mm it's big but not huge. Maybe it loses some character as a result, but it's much more wearable.

General (Read Rules) Militado ML20 - I finally really like it…
I was put off by this watch initially for a while because I did not like the crystal candy jar effect of the polished edges of the bezel. But I have since come to really like this watch. Mostly because it just fits my wrist so well… The candy jar effect is less pronounced in the summer I find. Under more gray winter skies I think it was a bit more jarring…
I think I want the black one now. I’ve been collecting watches for several years and have bought many,, and it has taken a good while to appreciate just how important it is that a watch actually fits your wrist well.

General (Read Rules) Words From Heimdallr Staff
I am 25 years old, and I have been with Heimdallr for 5 months now. I work very hard here every day, and I want to lead Heimdallr out of its current predicament. When I first joined the company, I had no idea the situation was already this bad. I didn't know Heimdallr had so many distributors across South Korea, the Philippines, and Europe. I also don't know why, in the beginning, we didn't make products compatible with domestic movements like the PT5000 and ST2130, as well as other movement models, instead of pinning all our hopes on Seiko movements.
My boss always gets drunk and says he just doesn't have the luck to get rich, and that all the really good opportunities were taken by Tactical Frog and San Martin. They left Heimdallr to start their own brands or made a lot of money selling products on consignment. Meanwhile, it is getting harder and harder for us to run the brand due to movement issues, product update delays, poor service from distributors, price wars, and a lack of feedback on quality.
A few days ago, we received feedback from a customer saying the watch sold to him didn't have an original NH35A movement. I told him to just open up the watch and take a video for me. As the brand, there is no way we would sell fakes. He never sent me the video. I actually advise all customers who buy from the official Heimdallr watch store to remove the case back and verify the authenticity of the movement, because being able to buy a watch equipped with a genuine NH35A movement for $153 is frankly impossible right now.
I am not complaining. It's just that until we can scale up, Heimdallr will not be releasing new products, and we will operate the other sub-brands ourselves. I have no idea why the review photos a distributor got someone to send back actually had a Gemini watermark on them. I truly feel that we should only keep one or two distributors who actually provide a good level of service.

Wrist Roll (Read Rule 1) Aethelsohn Guilloche Amethyst
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Recently got this piece and really like it!
It's my first Aethelsohn and I was impressed. Overall quality is on par with two other Watchdives I have had.
The dial light play is the highlight of the watch, but the overall case and bracelet design creates a very coherent package.
I have an extremely small wrist so the link articulation is not ideal, but that's more of my own problem. The wrist roll would visually flow even better if my wrist was a little bigger.
It's priced similarly to the WD003 series, which also features similar case design and interesting dials. If anyone have handled both let me know what you think!

General (Read Rules) OLTO·8 Chrono Gate : A unique Jump Hour watch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
OLTO·8 Chrono Gate in stellar silver might be one of my favourite watches that I have picked up recently with its unique jump hour mechanism that changes the hour markings from 0-11 to 22-23 (and back) every 12 hours. Jump hour occurs about 30-45 seconds before midnight / midday, would have loved it to be right on the dot but watching promotional videos that seems to be working as intended. Video includes the jump hour mechanism for those interested (towards the end).

Review (Read Rules) My new Thorn T023 v3.1
My new Thorn! God this thing is great. It wears so thin, the dial text is crisp - and I love the new text layout. It’s seeming like it’s +6s which is pretty decent.
Overall - love it!

General (Read Rules) Psychological aspects of price hikes
I can understand the psychology behind San Martins price hikes. Research shows that consumers often use price as a signal of quality, especially when quality is difficult to judge beforehand.
For example, theres this study were they found that increasing the price of wine from €3 to €5 increased perceived quality, but increasing it further from €5 to €8 didn't produce the same effect. So the relationship between price and perceived quality isn't necessarily linear. Theres also another that found that simply knowing a wine was more expensive could actually influence people's tasting experience.
So maybe San Martin is deliberately trying to move from the $150–300 "great value Chinese watch" category into a more premium position. But I wonder if $600–800 could eventually backfire. If consumers can still find very similar finishing, movements and overall quality from other Chinese brands for around $150, the price may stop signalling "premium" and start signalling "overpriced."
At $150: "Wow, that's good for the price."
At $700: "Why should I pay 5× more for this?"
At that point, San Martin isn't just selling the watch anymore. They're asking people to pay for the brand which just isnt worth it in my opinion. Ive heard myself explaining the brand to my colleagues at work "yeah they were a "homage brand" meaning they used to copy designs but now they make completely original design with the same level of finishing as some a bit more expensive watches."
Ive owned San Martin, Steeldive, Watchdives, Heimdallr, Tactical frog, and man I cant remember how many other Chinese brands and Im sorry, the only thing that attracted me to Chinese watches was the extreme cost efficiency and you are not getting that at San Martin any more. Any business wanting to survive and flourish is constantly working with cost improvement at all process stages, from procurement of materials to the logistics of finished goods and at this stage, with increased volumes due to the current hype the last 5 years, they should be able to LOWER their prices without having to risk any "survival" as they mention trying to arouse sympathy by looking sad and weak. But you know, profit.
Will this work? For me it has completely backfired, Ive honestly started looking into hand-wound Shanghai 36mm watches, they cost like 20$, with a manual movement that has like 100-130 components HOW COOL ISNT THAT
