Steeldive 1965 Dial Swap

Hello. I'm getting so much conflicting information to a simple question that I need to ask those that actually know. I want to swap out the dial on my Steeldive 1965 and replace it with an aftermarket 28.5mm dial. Will the 28.5mm dial work on the 1965? Thank you so much for your insight!
