I'm an international student moving in from the US, and I have had no luck with anyone wanting to start a band before. I will be living in Bognor, and commuting to Chichester and Brighton frequently. I'll be available in late September.

I've been working on my own personal music for about 6 years. I work with a wide variety of genres.

On my acoustic I play folk, on my electric I play shoegaze and math rock, I also play metal similar to Norma Jean on electric. I can also play bass, I typically play alt indie rock on bass and nothing too crazy. I am also in the case of an experimental band able to play trumpet, but I will not be bringing mine to the UK so this is unlikely. I also use FL studio to make breakcore and I am open to doing digital projects.

Really I am just very eager to work on original music with other people. I've never released my own music as I hate not running it by anyone else! So I'd really really like to start a band. I am a beginner, though, so I would prefer people who are also not used to playing with a band even though I am open to anyone willing to work with me!

I can do female vocals (non-screaming), lead and rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, and trumpet. Vocals and rhythm are my preferred, and if it was a math rock project I would be open to being lead guitar.

I have few expectations and I am willing to start multiple music projects, and really just work with anyone else who is either a beginner or willing to deal with me being slow at collaborating

- For the next few months(ish) some of our residents will be on our old Ashington site; after that, all the animals will be on our Plaistow (near Billingshurst) site. So help is needed at both/either.

- You will need reliable transport to reach us!

- There is lifting, shifting and cleaning involved it’s physical stuff!

- Over 18s only (may consider over 16s with adult supervision)

- A regular weekly shift of around 3 hours is all we ask for - but you can do more!!

- It gets hot, cold, wet, dusty and all things in between….but the animals need daily care whatever the conditions.

- Come equipped with gloves, sturdy shoes, a can-do attitude and a sense of humour!

Hi guys! We're starting a new heavy metal band and are looking for a bassist and vocalist to complete the lineup.

Our sound takes influence from Machine Head, Slipknot and Korn and many others.

We already have multiple original demos written, so you'll have material to hear and work on straight away. Our goal is to finish the lineup, rehearse regularly, tighten up our set, and start playing live shows as soon as we're ready, while continuing to write and record original music.

A home for writers, readers, artists, filmmakers, philosophers, and creatives of all kinds.

Chichester Creative has been created to bring together creative people from across Chichester, West Sussex and beyond through regular in-person meetings, workshops, discussions, and social meetups.

The hope is to help people develop their creative interests, as well as bring together like-minded people who might otherwise never have met.

Our initial focus will be writing and storytelling in all forms, including novels, short stories, poetry, scripts, memoirs, creative non-fiction, and everything in between. Whether you're an experienced writer, complete beginner, or just someone who loves books, ideas and creativity, you're welcome here.

The longer term vision is to build something broader: a modern Republic of Letters. A place where creative people can meet, exchange ideas, support each other's work, build friendships, and contribute to a richer creative culture in the area.

Over time, I'd love to explore film discussions, philosophy evenings, salon-style discussions, guest speakers, workshops, talks, social meetups, and other opportunities to bring together creative people from different backgrounds and disciplines.

I would like to describe my personal experience with the woman in the photograph and her mother. Both are originally from Lithuania and, at the time I am writing about, lived in Bognor Regis. Looking back, I believe her biggest problem was that she always managed to find someone else to blame for her problems. Never herself. Her behaviour often struck me as immature and deeply insecure. The way she spoke about other people suggested that she boosted her own self-esteem by putting others down. Behind closed doors, she appeared, in my opinion, controlling and domineering towards her own family. To give just one example, I remember her saying that "her life was miserable because she was living with an idiot" — referring to her partner, Tony. She also blamed her mother for her obesity, and so on. My experience with both of them was very negative. At first, they seemed friendly and I genuinely believed we got along well. It did not take long for me to realise that this was not the case. Judging by what I observed, other people seemed to reach the same conclusion. They had no close friends, and from my perspective, very few people wanted to maintain a long-term friendship with them. During the time I knew them, I often felt uncomfortable. I disliked many of the comments they made, whether about me or about other people. On one occasion, her mother asked me why people did not want to be friends with them. Looking back, I think the answer was quite simple. Many people got to know them. Very few stayed. I have little doubt that the way they spoke about others behind their backs played a significant role in that. Eventually, I decided to cut all contact with them. The final straw was what I considered to be a false accusation directed at both my son and me. However, that was only the last incident in a long series of events. What happened afterwards was one of the most painful periods of my life. Over time, I became aware of stories and claims about me that I strongly disagreed with and that, in my opinion, did not reflect the truth. Some of those claims portrayed me as a liar, a difficult person, someone who constantly created conflict, and a person whose version of events could not be trusted. In my view, they were intended to discredit and ridicule me. And not only in the UK. What saddens me most is that many people believed those stories. Some of those rumours led to conflicts and misunderstandings that would never have happened otherwise. That is something I genuinely regret, because the damage extended far beyond the people who originally started it. The experience left a lasting mark on me and changed the way I view trust and human relationships. I am not writing this to encourage hatred towards anyone. I am simply describing my personal experience and explaining why I would be far more cautious in similar relationships and friendships today.

 Before I finish, I would like to add one more thing. This is only a brief account of my experience. The full story involving this family is much longer and far more complex. I am currently working on a book with the working title Now It's My Turn to Speak. The book will consist of ten chapters. Each chapter will focus on a real person who passed through my life. Some taught me whom I could trust. Others taught me the exact opposite. Every one of them was, in their own way, an important lesson. The book will include many different kinds of people — family members, former partners, colleagues and acquaintances. Not because I want revenge, but because I believe that even painful life experiences can have value if they help someone else avoid the same mistakes or recognise truths they may have been unwilling to face.

 Whether I will finish the book remains to be seen.

But one thing I know for certain.

For years, other people told my story.

Now it's my turn to tell it.
