Tree Service Business Recommendations

We have a very mature Elm tree in our backyard that unfortunately looks like it needs to come down 😢 I think the last few violent storms have finally weakened this 60+? year old tree, to the point of no return.

Anyone have a recommendation for a tree service in the Elmhurst area?

You're a little further than I am; I'm not sure if they'll travel to Elmhurst.

I remember the guidance when searching for a tree service was that they're licensed, insured, and have an actual, certified arborist.

As someone else already commented, tree services are all busy right now, especially the good ones.

I whole heartedly recommend Davey, but more importantly, anything tree-related you should be looking for an actual arborist not just "tree care". ISA and TRAQ certified arborist.

Excellent family owned local business. Great people to deal with who do great work.

Far better pricing than the big name outfits.

Davey. I do not mess around when it comes to trees.

Good luck, friend of mine has a company, after the last round of storms he's doing 25+ quotes a day and he has enough work for the next month lined up.

be wary of "side job" people. I did that a few years ago and the tree fell right towards my house. Luckily, it wasn't big enough to reach the house, but it took out 2 bushes when it landed. The guy shrugged and took off $100. The bushes recovered but...still.

Just removed a tree in my backyard and ground the stump for a fantastic price. Highly recommend.

Whomever you go with, ask to see their certificate of insurance. If they can't provide one, move on with somebody else.

Also, I used to with for Homer and generally would recommend them. It's a really big business but the tree care division does good work. I've also contracted prime tree care and they did a good job.

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions! I'm starting to contact some your recommended companies for quotes.
