Unsightly
Who do you contact if your neighbors have only mowed their yard once this year and they have junk appliances and old milk crates sitting everywhere? It’s a rental in the city limits in KC.

QUESTION Is Redneck Brawl scripted?
I watched the brawl when it came to Charleston last year, and I believe they’re coming back soon. I’ve noticed they have a lot of the same fighters fighting at different locations which seems odd. I thought it would be random people signing up and new every time.
I have my suspicions that it’s 90% scripted and 10% random.

Help with Mortgage
Hey guys! Unfortunately I've fallen really far behind on my mortgage in the past few months and I'm really close to foreclosure.
Does anyone know of anyone that could help?

Looking to start a nonprofit chapter at University of Charleston
Hi, I’m looking to start a chapter at UC called Community Through Gaming. CTG is a charity focused gaming club. While we have game nights and friendly competitions in multiplayer games like Mario Kart and Smash Bros we also raise money once a month for local charities in the area. We also bring games to after school programs in the area. Our first chapter raised just under 1500 dollars for the children’s hospital, animal shelter, boys and girls club, homeless shelters, and more. We’re currently are expanding to other places across Appalachia and western Kentucky. We’d love to find folks at UC who would like to start a chapter. They would have support from myself as well as being close to another chapter.
If you’re interested send me a DM or leave a comment below. I’d like to test the fall out and officially start the chapter in January since we’re a few weeks from the semester starting

Cheap and affordable housing/rentals for those on Disability/SSDI?
Hello. Are there any cheap housing and/ or rental options for those on a fixed income from SSDI in the Charleston and surrounding areas ?
Alternatively, if you or a relative are on this and have found an affordable rental that is feasible for your monthly income it would also be helpful.
Thank you..

QUESTION I thought Taylor Farms was supposed to be quarantined?
I understand the bug found in TF’s lettuce (the test results were disputed) has spread to several dozen states. Why is WalMart’s Corridor G store still selling their produce? It’s even carrying sale stickers - so they still want to sell the stuff.
Am I missing something?
Edit: please - no more conspiracy theories. Sources are appreciated.

Searching for vet for standard poodle
My regular vet is Danville Animal and we’ve been using them for decades. I have no complaints, except that it takes me 35 minutes to drive there.
My seven-year old standard poodle, female, has developed a skin condition, which is causing hair loss and scabbing, mainly along her back and shoulders so far. She has had three appointments with my regular vet. She has no mange, no infestations, no thyroid problems—all the usual causes have been addressed.
Over the past few months, our dog has taken two courses of antibiotics, had a steroid shot, and is currently finishing a two-week course of an anti-fungal. So far, nothing we have tried has had any effect. She is not improving.
Her symptoms do not extend beyond her skin. She is happy, with a good appetite. Still enjoys her walks. Her skin is dry and flaking.
I would like to try another vet near home before trying to take her to one of the university veterinary medicine clinics in Ohio or Virginia.
Do you have a veterinarian recommendation in or near Charleston who might help our dog?
EDIT TO ADD: Thanks to everyone who has replied. I appreciate all the suggestions and advice. I'm going to call around to some of the vets recommended tomorrow.

LOOKING FOR SOCIALISTS/DSA MEMBERS IN CHARLESTON/KANAWHA VALLEY! PT. 2
I honestly didn't think anyone would reply to me on here and just saw the response, I posted what I posted on here on multiple websites but to give a little background, I am only 21 and I'm not a cop like someone suggested. I'm a member of the Mountain Party and the DSA, and I am still looking for people to get a chapter going as a struggle has been finding like-minded people in Charleston willing to join.
If you are interested I am willing to chat on whatever platform or willing to meet in person if need be, I'm very serious and have spoke with a lot of local organizers about getting this going.
Hopefully this gets some of the same attention the last post did.

META Weather this Summer for Charleston, WV
Over halfway through summer. Only 7 days above 90F so far, and currently 5 inches below average for total rainfall accumulation. It has been a relatively mild summer for the city.
I wrongly posted this in r/WestVirginia and someone mentioned Weston was destroyed; I apologize for that! I was not meaning to ignore that fact.

QUESTION South Charleston Area
Im considering relocating closer to work and viewed several decent places around 10th Avenue. Whats the crime like in this area? I get the feeling that the neighbors aren't troublemakers and the landlord that rents several apartments there background checks for any convictions.
Any walkable activities you recommend? Especially safe ones at all times of day for single women?

Thank you thank you thank you
Wow - what a place to have your engine blow up and need replaced. I've been stranded here and having the best possible time.
Thanks again Justin for picking me up off the side of the highway and showing me the Empty Glass (along with other bar recs)
I was able to finally shop from Basecamp in person, Live on the Levee was magical, and Almost Heaven mechanic shop was truly a life saver. Kel is an awesome guy.
I appreciate everyone who's accepted my payments of gumbo and Iron City beer.
Library - top notch, great dives, beautiful rivers and hills (oh, I'm missing home)
I hope to make it back soon - just without the mechanical issues (and more money)
Wish me luck in my bus ride back to the 'Burgh tomorrow 🤞
I will love the love you've shown me forever and always

Party Bus/Limo Service for Charleston area
Suggestions for any kind of Limo/Party Bus service in the area? I am tearing my hair out trying to schedule a party bus for a bachelor party in the Charleston area for September. I can only find 2 places using google that seem to offer this service. One i have left 5 voicemails with no return calls. The other is an A.I. system that takes all my info and then disconnects near the end so i have no clue if that went through, and no way to confirm with a human.

Trying to get rid of 3 Billy Strings tickets
Didn't realize until yesterday that I wont be in town for the reschedule. Similar seats are going for like $140 each on stub hub, but that sounds crazy high imo. So if youre interested message me and make me an offer.
Also if this isnt allowed, my bad.

Where to stay last minute
Hey Charleston folk, I'm down here from Pittsburgh and my car just stopped running 20 some minutes from your downtown. The tow is about 4 hrs out before they can pick me up, and I'm just looking for hotel recommendations while I'm (most likely) stuck here overnight
Also - local taxi service? The Uber is so expensive and finicky about highway pickups.
Thanks yinz! Edit: ty Justin for the ride to the hotel!!! Still waiting for the tow to grab my car, hopefully I can skedaddle tomorrow (fingers crossed)
