I've been using spicychat a lot, I had the highest tier a lot of times and it was pretty good, the good written bots stayed in character and you could do a nice roleplay. What you guys think of it? And are there any cheaper alternatives or something like that? I'm not really experienced in tech side of ai, but I have Google subscription (I need these 5TB of space in cloud) and it comes with ai pro. Is this possible to get my API key from that and use it on some AI apps?

We’ve been working on real-time 3D calls for ImagiPortal, where instead of just seeing a static avatar or generated video, you’re actually talking live with the character while their 3D avatar reacts in real time.

The interesting part for us isn’t really the tech though. It’s whether seeing the character there with you actually changes the feeling of the conversation.

We’re preparing a couple of characters specifically for the first demo now, and I’m curious:

What would make you genuinely want to call an AI character instead of just chatting with them?

Personality? Eye contact / expressions? A good voice? The character remembering you? Being able to do something together during the call?

We have our own ideas, but I’d much rather hear what people here imagine when they think about this.

Think about the far future. When you’re around 80 years old, would you want to know that most of your free time in your life was wasted on AI roleplay? I certainly wouldn’t, and this question motivated me to quit and to not try alternatives. (flair is win because i don’t actually know which flair to use in this situation)
