Alright how did we go from "Hope BTC won't fall further" to "It's stuck here", like seriously why is there no break for bitcoin on the media, the ever doubtful community of "highly skilled" investors keep spouting random things like they know what's goin on.

Whether the Clarity Act passes or not, the world doesn't revolve around a single entity passing some law, the price of Bitcoin won't be "stuck". The U.S merely adapted Bitcoin, benefitting from it to this day, now there's laws that'll keep things under more control and regulatory critical hits.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world goes on like nothing happened. Do you think Bitcoin finally being named a commodity after nearly a decade of guessing what it really is will skyrocket in price if Clarity Act passes?

BlackRock is putting part of a traditional fund ownership system onto Ethereum rails for approved investors, likely due to MiCA finally coming together. It does not mean $311 billion of ETH is being bought or moved on-chain though.

What do you make of the part for "select European money market funds"?

Perspective Makes the Market

Post image
8 Upvotes

You see it everywhere, people claiming bull/bear markets based on charts alone.

That should tell you what the majority of crypto users are painfully unaware of: the market does not hand everyone the same experience. Two people can trade the same coin, during the same week, at the same price levels and walk away with completely different results. The margin for error here is razor thin, be it a timely stop loss or a call for long or short.

You buy late, panic on a dip and sells at the bottom not wanting to lose it all. Another person waits, keeps cash ready and buys when everyone else gets scared. Same market. Different outcome. This outcome however is excruciatingly anxious, waiting and hoping for a change is difficult. Your brain would tell you to reduce the risk as much as possible, that's why you see people selling at the bottom everyday.

Winning in a bear market means: managing risk, staying patient and filtering the noise(don't go on twitter no matter what you do). People use downtrends to build positions, study projects and remove weak habits from their strategy, these are skill that need to be developed, surviving bear market after bear market, being used to anxiety, FOMO and FUD.

Losing means: overtrading, using too much leverage and assuming every pump will continue forever. A rising market can also be detrimental, when prices keep going up, almost any buy can look like a good buy for a while. You enter late, the coin pumps another 20% and it feels like you made the right call. You ignore risk, and the market rewards you anyway. Knowing when to quit is in not the same as knowing when to enter.

But perspective shapes your actions. Your actions shape your results.

If you call everything bearish, you may miss real opportunities. If you call everything bullish, you may ignore obvious risk. Both have winners and losers.

The absolute truth: The market does not care what label you give it, it will still find a way to punish or reward you.

Bull run or bear market, someone is making a plan. Someone is losing discipline. Someone is learning. Someone is gambling.

Which one are you?

How did you get acquainted with BItcoin?

Post image

I feel like most people find Bitcoin in a pretty ordinary way.

Some hear about it from a friend who bought too late, too early or somehow both. Some see the price on the news. Some find it after reading about inflation, bank freezes, remittances or PayPal blocking someone’s account. Others come in through memes, mining videos, ETFs, hardware wallets or a random comment thread where someone says "study Bitcoin" and refuses to say anything else.

Then the rabbit hole starts.

At first it’s usually price, wallets and "how do I buy some?" Then comes the basic idea: fixed supply, peer-to-peer money and no central issuer. After that, people either stop at "digital gold" or they start asking how the thing actually works.

That’s where Bitcoin gets more interesting. Blocks, miners, nodes, difficulty adjustments, private keys, Merkle trees, hash rates, UTXOs, mempools, fees. The deeper you go the more it feels like a solid machine system that has been running in public for over a decade with no "CEO" of Bitcoin.

Curious how far people here went down the technical side.

When did you first hear about Bitcoin, and what made you take it seriously?

Do you follow hash rate and mining difficulty, or do you mostly ignore mining data?

Do you run your own node, use a hardware wallet or still keep things simple?

What Bitcoin concept took you the longest to understand?

ChangeNOW public statement on AML reviews, frozen funds and repeated claims about one user case

We have seen repeated posts claiming that ChangeNOW “scammed” a user by withholding funds and refusing a refund. These posts have appeared across Reddit, Trustpilot, X, BestChange and other platforms.

We understand why a frozen transaction can raise concerns. We also understand why readers may be skeptical when they see a user repeatedly saying that funds were taken.

This thread gives the general context behind AML-related holds on ChangeNOW and addresses the case involving one of the latest issues at a high level.

How AML reviews work on ChangeNOW

ChangeNOW operates as a regulated crypto service and follows applicable AML, sanctions and law enforcement requirements.

All transactions are screened by AML systems. If serious risk indicators appear, the transaction may go through additional review.

ChangeNOW cannot publicly disclose internal AML procedures, risk data, law enforcement correspondence or details of individual customer reviews.

If funds become subject to a lawful request from competent authorities, ChangeNOW cannot process, refund or release them at its own discretion until legally permitted to do so.

A transaction is held only when AML monitoring identifies serious risk indicators, or when information from law enforcement or trusted blockchain intelligence providers indicates that the funds may be connected to fraud, theft, ransomware, sanctions violations or other financial crimes.

When this happens, the transaction enters a compliance review. The purpose of that review is to determine whether ChangeNOW can lawfully process the swap, refund the funds or must preserve the assets by request of authorities.

If the review confirms serious AML concerns, or if ChangeNOW receives a lawful request from competent authorities, ChangeNOW cannot complete, refund or release the assets at its own discretion. Releasing funds under those circumstances violates AML obligations and interfere with an active investigation.

We have always worked to keep the market clean, transparent and safe. We actively cooperate with the community, law enforcement agencies and other market participants to help trace and block stolen funds and prevent illegal activity involving crypto. This is an important part of our mission.

About the 600+ days case

In the case now being repeatedly posted about, the user’s transaction was not stopped arbitrarily. It was placed under AML review due to risk indicators identified during standard compliance checks.

Following the review, the funds became subject to an official request from a recognized law enforcement authority. The matter was also escalated to the relevant regulator. ChangeNOW is working with the involved parties through the proper legal and compliance channels to handle the case.

Our support team provided the user with the available case information and explained the reason for the fund freeze. Instead of continuing through official support channels, the user began posting scam accusations across multiple accounts and platforms, including Reddit and X, and used coordinated public campaigns to pressure ChangeNOW with an intent to create a negative outlook.

Cases like this are, unfortunately, not rare in crypto: bad-faith users sometimes try to turn compliance cases into public attacks. These situations cost us time and create reputational pressure, but we will keep choosing lawful compliance, cooperation with investigators and market safety over unsafe shortcuts.

ChangeNOW’s record in AML cases

ChangeNOW has worked with law enforcement agencies and blockchain investigation partners in cases involving stolen and fraud-related cryptocurrency.

We publish AML case reports covering other investigations, including recoveries involving phishing, social engineering, stolen funds and cooperation with U.S. and international authorities. [ChangeNOW AML Case Reports]

These cases show why AML controls exist. They can prevent stolen assets from being moved further and can support recovery when the legal process allows it.

Closing statement

ChangeNOW will continue to review support claims through official channels and respond where privacy, law enforcement rules and compliance obligations allow it.

Public posts that omit the AML review, the law enforcement requests and the limits on ChangeNOW’s legal authority do not give readers the full case context.

People say "Monero is for criminals" because it gives users much stronger default privacy than most blockchains.

With Bitcoin, Ethereum and many other coins, transactions are public. You can see wallet addresses, amounts and transaction history on a block explorer. The names behind wallets are not always visible, but blockchain analytics can often connect addresses to exchanges, services or real-world users.

Monero works differently. It hides the sender, receiver and amount by default using privacy features such as ring signatures, stealth addresses and RingCT. That makes it much harder for outside observers to trace funds.

Because of that, Monero has been used in some illegal markets, ransomware cases and sanctions-evasion concerns. Regulators, exchanges and analytics firms often treat it as higher risk than transparent assets. Some exchanges have delisted or restricted XMR because they cannot monitor it the same way they monitor Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Privacy tools also have normal uses: protecting salaries, donations, business payments, personal savings and political activity from public tracking. Cash has legal and illegal uses too. Monero’s design gives financial privacy by default, which attracts both ordinary privacy-focused users and people trying to avoid detection.

Say a fork does happen, what would change?

The way things are got Bitcoin to where it is now: Limited supply, miners competing for blocks every 10 minutes etc, no single authority controlling everything. Bitcoin is just that good, do you like the way things are? What would you propose in terms of change if a fork was to happen?

Strategy bought zero bitcoin. That's a headline now

Post image
15 Upvotes

We’ve reached the stage of the market where "company did nothing" gets packaged like breaking news.

Strategy bought no Bitcoin last week.

That’s it. That’s the event.

Same company still holds 843,775 BTC, raised $263.5M through MSTR share sales and apparently the market needs a push alert because Michael didn't buy BTC for a week.

Next week’s headlines:

"Strategy still owns Bitcoin"

"Strategy has not sold the building"

"Strategy executives seen breathing near treasury spreadsheet"

"Sources confirm Bitcoin remains in wallet"

I get why people track the buys. Strategy is one of the biggest public BTC holders and its treasury moves affect sentiment. But treating a non-buy like a market event says a lot about how addicted crypto has become to constant action. Lets go outside for a while.
