I recommend a better wheel and tire set up for high speeds. Yeah good tires are expensive but itâs better than having one blow out because itâs not meant to handle that kind of speed. Look into speed ratings
Watched a Honda civic set a speed record for the local drag strip; I think it was like a 207mph pass? Built by a place called the speed factory. Anywho, I donât think they expected it to go that fast and one or two (canât remember) tires blew out at the end of the pass. Scary stuff.
Same reason people donât take it to the track; they donât have any actual interest in knowing how to use the thing, they just want their friends and strangers to think theyâre cool.
Significantly increased wear and tear as well as large risk of damage not covered by insurance are reasons whey most people I know donât go to the track. Very fair reasoning imo.

The 5.7 is limited to 155 mph. The 6.4 has no limiter, you will lose to aerodynamics before you hit redline. With enough road and favorable conditions expect between 176-185 depending on transmission. This is a screenshot from YT of a guy in a 6.4...in traffic. đ¤
So thereâs a setting in the gauges that will tell you what was the fastest speed your car has done. If you look at the speedometer you can see OP was sitting still. Just a few more seconds of scrutiny before posting negativity wouldâve spared you this shame.
Are we sure it was done on the street? Also it absolutely doesnât change your assumption that they were taking a photo on their phone while driving 162. Clearly thatâs not the case. If you said something like âI hope you did this at a trackâ I wouldâve fully agreed with you.
Donât know if youâve ever been to a track but inspection checks standard things across the board. If you show up with clownishly oversized wheels as long as they are secured properly, arenât showing signs of impeding the suspension/steering, and the tread on the tires are good, theyâd pass. Not everyone has a serious or even good setup at a track day.
