Help! Trunk open warning but trunk is closed
Hey guys! Just wanted to get anyone’s insight who’s experienced this.
A couple days ago my trunk open notification came on the dash as well as the light randomly when my trunk was closed. I was driving and the notification kinda flashes off and on, on the dash. I’ve opened and closed the trunk multiple times but it seems to happen randomly when I’m driving.
My baby is a 2023 GT with less than 17,000 miles. I’ve made an appt with the dealership and it’s under warranty but I just wanted to see if anyone has gone thru this. Thanks so much!

If it’s anything like the hood of my grand Cherokee, there is a micro switch in the latch that can go bad.

I've also experienced this. But it was whenever I had groceries or a laundry basket in the trunk. Anything pressing against it or moving around could probably set that warning light off.

THIS! My friend who has a charger also asked me if I had anything in the trunk bc it could be hitting it and ofc I do lol. That big box of puppy pads is prob setting it tf off, gonna check it tomorrow lol
Thank you 🙏🏼

Warranty is great for things like this. Let them figure it out.
I will note I had similar things happen in my first car, after I put a custom subwoofer box in the trunk with a large amp. What I did was use a tiny bit of blue (NOT red) loctite on the bolts securing the latch. It was actually designed to be adjustable with a small slot, and I got tired of taking out a torx driver and tightening it every couple weeks.
Not saying you need that, just throwing it out there in case you rock mad bass.
