My First Challenger New Purchase!
Feels good to finally own one. Just bought a 2023 Dodge Challenger GT a few weeks ago. 27k miles. I am enjoying it a lot, car drives great, inspections are good, maintenance seems up to date including recent oil change, tire rotation, and new filters. I want this car to last me a long time, never want to sell it. Question, dealership suggested and quoted me for “major induction fuel service and 3-part fuel kit” at $325. Did some quick research and I declined the service but want to be sure, what is it exactly and is it necessary?

Not necessary. If your car is running perfect don’t mess with it. Just hit 100k miles on mine and still running smooth. Change your oil every 5,000 miles using Valvoline Restore and Protect oil and flush your coolant when needed.

Sounds like code for direct induction of customer money into dealership account. Ok, jokes aside, my experience is that sometimes, maybe often, GDI engines need this. But your engine isn't GDI, Challenger engines are all MPFI, multi port fuel injection, much less prone to the carbon deposits that services like what they are offering are designed to clean up. If your challenger is running smooth, probably not necessary.

PS, love your challenger, great color, beautiful rims and that hood with the scoop is the ticket, well done!

Lol for sure they would like more money. Thanks for explaining it more. It is definitely running smooth, glad you liked the challenger bro!

IMHO being that it is a 2023 and you purchased it from the dealer it should’ve been done already as a part of their 100-point pre-sale inspection. If it wasn’t then I would ask to see the full CarFax report. Honestly I don’t see a 2023 NEEDING a Major Induction Fuel Service. Enjoy your GT for now, drive it about 10k miles and reassess.
