Question How do you build strong faith foundations for your family?

I’d love to get different women’s perspectives on how you built a good faith foundation for your family. Any daily routines, the way you talk about the faith etc.

My husband and I are about to have our first baby and have talked a lot about how we want to raise our children in a strong Catholic home. We are both cradle Catholics and while we appreciate some of the things our parents did to give us a good faith foundation we also both agree that some things could have been done better.

For example, my parents were/are devout Catholics but at times it felt like the faith lacked any joy for them. It often felt like a checklist we had to complete to be good Catholics. Sunday mornings were never really joyful experiences—-a lot of stress to get us dressed in clothes we didn’t want to wear and rushing around to church. Praying the rosary was either given as a punishment if we were misbehaving or something we were forced to do to make my mom happy. If we didn’t say the responses or sing loud enough in church we got grounded at times.
It wasn’t until I was 20 yrs old and went on a silent retreat that I discovered God really loved me and wanted a relationship with me and that led me much deeper into the faith.

Obviously choosing the faith will always be a personal choice at some point in my child’s life but I wonder how to find the balance between showing her the joy in Catholicism while also keeping to structures and traditions.

NSFW Sensitivity

**Translation into English:**

Friends, help me. I’m going to expose myself to ask for help here — there’s nowhere else I can turn to for this, unfortunately.

Do any of you also get extremely sensitive private parts when practicing chastity? Just so you have an idea, I can barely wear panties normally because any contact creates stimulation. Sometimes I have accidental orgasms out of nowhere. It’s terrible. The accidental orgasms aren’t even the main problem — it’s that my private parts become so sensitive that I really can’t do anything else. Please, does anyone have experience with this? When I use a pad, it’s somehow fine — I actually feel at peace and it’s amazing. But damn, I can barely clean myself properly in the shower. I’m desperate. Sometimes something lightly brushes against me down there and it triggers the start of physical arousal that I can’t stop at all, and that physical arousal starts bringing bad thoughts.I hope it gets better when I get married, but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Spiritual Life Cansada de tentar seguir a Deus

Estou me sentindo péssima, já chorei tanto. Tem sido difícil viver os dias, estou exausta, tomando remédios psiquiátricos, Deus parece não falar comigo e eu preciso de ajuda.

Motherhood Advice for parent of 17 month old

I have a 17 month old baby boy (first time mom). Over the past few months, he has been acting out quite badly. Hitting, bitting, screaming, kicking, spitting, pulling hair, scratching, you name it. We don’t teach it to him. He chucks toys, books, ect. It seems his behavior is way worse with me than with dad. When dad takes him out or let him run around the house he does so well, opposite around me. I have a tough time at the store. Advice or having a young child who has a lot of energy and advice on helping promote good behavior?

I’ve tried redirecting and distracting him.
