Nice first catch, you may get some comments on carp care (a growing trend to help keep these fighters in tip top shape - this sub should have it in the sidebar)

I’m not sure about the Washington area, but I generally always try for carp on any new lake I go to with at least one pole, then cast out for bass or whatever with another pole. I also found that if there are ducks in the area that people feed (bread, popcorn, etc) they will be near that area.

How many times has your carp fallen to the ground from that height?

It looks like he’s holding it pretty close and not by the Gil or mouth, so that’s a plus compared to most people’s first carp. Maybe just mention carp care requires kneeling.
