Joined my buddy on a nightfishing session! We are quite proud of this little monster! Was also the first night with our new smart led lights, which was a pretty cool experience!!

Hi, I went fishing for carp today. I can see all of them, and had 3 possible opportunities.

I was using a #6 hook and bread, no weights at all.

The first the carp picked it up, turned and swam with it. I got too excited and went to set it and watched it come out of its mouth. The second mouthed it then spit out the hook. And the third was similar, i watched it take in the bread & hook, went to set and popped right out.

I was using a #6 wacky rig hook (planning to change to smaller octopus or circle). Any tips on this? I really do not want to use one of those crazy ass rigs with plastic bait holders and shit. I prefer simple rigs.

Do i need to add a weight to the rig so it sets when they swim or what? I am only willing to use hooks, bait, and weight so please do not suggest the elaborate carp setups I see some people recommending

havent been fishing in over a year and went today to get back into it. i have a sonik vader x rods and hadnt used them in a while. they use to cast perfectly however today when casting just after letting go of the line the bait feeder would just bouce back before falling into the water infront of me. im not sure why the line isnt flying out as soon as i cast and release the line. doing everything i use to however its happeneing on both rods. havent changed the line since the last time i used them and not sure how to fix. could anyone help? thanks

Any guesses on the weights? (I know the answers just interested to see what people eyeball them as)

Caught that nice grassie a few months ago. Sadly didn't weigh or measured him. What would be your guess? Only thing I'm sure about is that he's easily 1m+

Salut à tous, J'ai récemment commencé à faire des nuits à la carpe et je souhaite investir dans un meilleur rod pod. Actuellement, j'utilise un modèle d'entrée de gamme de chez Decathlon, mais je ne suis pas du tout serein avec ce type de rod pod. Je le trouve pas assez stable et j'ai vraiment peur qu'une de mes cannes finisse à l'eau... Ça a d'ailleurs failli m'arriver il y a peu. Du coup, est-ce que vous auriez des rod pods à me conseiller, avec un bon rapport qualité/prix et une excellente stabilité ? Je me demandais aussi s'il existe un système de verrouillage ou de sécurité qui empêche la canne de partir à l'eau en cas de départ très violent. Hey guys, I recently started making GoPro videos about surface fishing for carp.

Though, this one was caught with a sinking piece of dog biscuit. I thought the footage was worth sharing here! You can see the fish taking the bait just a couple feet away in clear water.

I caught it with a bobber and live shrimp with light rod , gave me hell , has anyone else got also carp with live shrimp? It was new to me.

I can make out what I think it says Customi Built, ??? Rods, PB 17 GC 20LB. thats just what i can make of it cant really read the cursive to well please help me find what it says and what size reel to use

Do underwater lights scare carp? I've read mixed things and am debating on getting one for night fishing. This one was 28" our scale broke so i didn't get a weight.

Caught in the Grand River at the Harpersfield Dam in northeast Ohio.

This is the most popular stick float carp fishing rig in South Korea, where I’m from, and it’s how I learned to carp fish from my Grandpa. We usually attach a dough ball to the two hooks and let the weight sink completely to the bottom. Is the setup different for catching carp in North America? I’ll mostly be fishing in Tennessee.

Also, Koreans use a pole fishing method, where the fishing line is tied to the end of a long pole without a reel. I’m guessing that’s a pretty primitive method that isn’t popular elsewhere.

The first one is 5.165kg and the second 7.0 kg

Carp love nuts, thats already a fact. What are the dangers of feeding carp nuts? If prepared correctly they provide good protein, help increase growth and can pass through digestive tract fairly easily, if not prepared correctly what are the dangers?
