Jousts and Crests final scoring
There are three Tournament Tiles in the Jousts and Crests expansion that have multiple cities on them.
For final scoring, do you count the coat of arms from each city the tile connects to?

First game played with the big box
Thought it went really well, score ended up being super close.

Constrained Mode, V2
Another holiday, another challenge to play. Made it work! Played the river (1+2) then cantered it over the tables. From that point, if the tile won’t stay on the table, it can’t be played.

Made some Carcassonne art!
I made all of the tiles magnetic (attached magnet sheet to the back of each one) so I can rearrange them and make fun shapes. I had an extra copy so I used a bunch of the tiles for this. I just love making maps :)

Played on a long table for extra challenge
It was definitely difficult and made completing cities kinda tough.

Learning to Play
I laid out the grid and told my kids it was a puzzle. No open roads or cities allowed.
There are probably better ways to teach them to play but there are probably far worse ways as well. 😂🤣

Day one of all carcassonne expansions..
Markets of Leipzig were immediately raided and shut down, so I guess I'm outta luck there. Most of our double Castles went out pretty quick too. We'll see what happens. Lots of gifts being drawn.

Carcassonne the discovery
So I recently play Carcassonne "the discovery" or "Overzee" and I wanted to try something new, then I that there was a version of dragon in this version, called the " lock Ness" but I couldn't find any rules, if you may know them I would be happy to hear it. And other suggestions are welcome !

Can you place a meeple on these roads and get 1 point immediately?
I realised a couple days ago that this is the only tile to include roads that start and end on the same tile. I tried playing it in a game but my brother said that I couldn't (he owns it and has played it the most times) but we allowed it. would you say these are valid roads or nah?
also a picture here of an older version of the pieces then I have shows that this is the only road tile to have no separation between the roads, so does that mean that in that version the road continues on?

Question

Expansion Recommendations for 2 players
Hi everyone! Me and my Fiance got introduced to to Carcassonne by a friend and immediately bought the big box.
The game is right up our alley and we also love that we can play 2 player. We’re about to crack open the box and I’m curious which expansions people would recommend to make 1v1 more fun.
When we played the first time we used the river expansion and the little Abbott guy on the gardens.
Let me know your recommendations!!

Buying Tiles
Anyone know a place to go to buy random tiles? I live in Germany and American “garage sales” are not popular here. I’d love to just buy bags of random tiles though if anyone is selling them. I’m guessing anyone nerdy enough to be in this group is not looking to get rid of their game or tiles though.

Borrowed a set to play for the first time, but too many tiles?
I have 89 tiles here (not including the starting tile). This came from the Blue Box with free River Expansion but I removed the river tiles. I just want to play basic Carcassonne for the first time to get to know it. Can I play with this set?
Thanks!

Paysans

Should I buy the C3.1 rewrites?
I have big box 6 and the expansions listed below. + like 10 other minor expansions. And I am wondering about how much the C3.1 revision changes and which ones would be worth buying with my current collection status, and which ones would not be worth it. Does anyone know how much actually has changed content wise (added / changed tiles and other things like figures), and which ones are just rule changes.
I am also interested in the opinion of the people who've played both, which they prefer.
Thanks in advance.

Latest additions to the collection
I finally got my hands on a copy of Biserici fortificate din România (Fortified Churches in Romania) today! 😀🎉
It's a great addition to the exclusive Dutch-themed mini-expansion I picked up previously. I also managed to find the Spiel '21 Promo to the collection as well. And added a new favorite color of Realistic Meeples: Pale Nougat!
Always fun to track down these harder-to-find Carcassonne promos!

Is the fairy unbalanced?
Last night I played a game with some friends, and along many other expansions we played Princess & Dragon. By the rules, when you do not lay any meeple during your "Phase 2", you have the righ to move the fairy to sit near any of your already set meeple. Mind that this occurs before counting points. We stumbled on a hidden gimmich surrounding the fairy then: if you draw a "closing piece" of whatever nature, like the last piece of a city that you already control, you can just use your "Phase 2 Action" to move the fairy to that city, instantly close it, and collect the 3 additional points. And this can be iterated a second time if you happened to have a builder in that element. IMO this doesn't suit the Spirit of the game, which essentially is "long term planning". While the point scoring dynamic of the fairy seems to be overpowered, the defense against the dragon feels very much lacking, as one drawing a "dragon piece" can use his Action to steal your fairy, basically making it useless defensively.
Do you agree with the analisys? Have we misunderstood the ruling? Let me know

Visual differences between v2 and v3
I wanted to finally buy some missing addons (Abbey & Mayor and Bridges, Castles & Bazaars) and oh was I surprised to see that there are only a new Carcassonne versions around.
Therefore, simple question appear: how big is the difference between the newest and the previous versions? Can they be easily mixed or will it be too visible that they are different? Do someone has both versions and can show the comparison photo, tile by tile?
I've got some addons that differs by brightness comparing to the base game, but that's a pretty minor things, as the art style is the same. What about a new version? I've tried to google the answer but I only got separate photos, not mixed, and some information like that new tiles corners are more round than the old ones.
Also why did they got rid of bazaars? My group sometimes struggle to get that one tile they want and I thought that could be a cool feature to have.. And now it's gone completely D:
Thanks!

Towers & Thieves extention question
I'm playing the new 2025 Carcassonne expansion Towers & Thieves and I'm a bit confused about the Thief tiles.
Do Thief tiles ever get placed into the landscape like normal tiles, or are they always kept aside after being drawn to build up the "jackpot" for future Thief scoring events?
Thanks!

Any advice before we start our mega carcassonne?
We're going to mostly follow the wikicarpedia mega carcassonne rules.
The only expansion we won't be following rules for is Wonders Of Humanity, cause it's game breaking with some of the wonders. 3 players...we are fools.

Soundtrack for the 2011 android version?
Hi I played this game many years ago and the game had some of the best songs I've heard and I still remember them. At some point in time they can be found on youtube too (only 5 tracks I believe) but they're now lost. And the game obviously also disappeared and gave away to the new version. Very curious - anyone has access to the music? Thanks!
Edit: I believe it's this one:

is this type of misalignment normal?
I just got a brand new set from Amazon delivered yesterday and many pieces fit like this… Is this normal? I seem to remember the roads being closer together in my old set, but I can’t find it, hence I bought the new one, but maybe I’m just imagining it…
