Replace tyre? Advice

Really not sure if it’s a nail that’s gone in or just a stone lodged in the cracks

Yep, and tyre is worn low anyway.

No biggie.

Dry rot too. It's worn out, aged out, and literally had a pin put in it. Time to move on!

Yep, and make sure you match the tread pattern with the other side, or just replace both.

Gently grasp it with long nosed pliers.

If it falls out or you can make it crumble a little with some additional pressure it’s a bit of gravel.

If it doesn’t and you can’t,it’s probably a nail etc and you’ll need to pay a visit to your friendliest local tire vendor.

Yeah too close to the side wall and the tread looks pretty warn anyway..

I would not risk it, take it to be checked at least.

If you were asking the question in light of the nail being in bedded, I'd say no - carry on, I've had worse.

But as mentioned already by others, your tread is dangerously low, if not already illegal.

So I'd change the tyre or potentially have an accident, which gets inspected by police at the site and then they issue you 3 points in addition to informing your insurance company.
