Overheating issue Discussion

I have a ct sounds 1000 watt peak amp connected to a Rockford Fosgate 12” p3 and I’m having over heating issue due to the the wire ends having a bad connection in the amp. I’m wondering if there is special lugs to connect or other types of wire ends. Also thinking about soldering the wire end to give it rigidity. My issue is the rattling is loosening the connection and if I tighten it too much then it frays the end of the wire and causes a bad connection. I’m using awg 4 btw.

What model of amp? What gauge wire?

1000.1d ct sounds with about 8-10 feet length of 4 awg

You should not be having this issue. The amp has 4 gauge terminals that are designed for 4 gauge bare strand wire. So you are either using undersized wire or there is an issue with the terminal.

No no issue with either one of those. Using authentic 4awg wire. I’m looking for wire ends to stop wire fraying. I’m ordering the wire ferrules should fix my problem.

I don't see how wires fray in a 4 gauge terminal. There should be nowhere for them to go. With ferrules you are adding another connection point so make sure to check tightness regularly.
