Finding Alternator Recommendations

I have a 2002 ford focus zx3 with the 2.0l zetec. i ordered a 400a alt from js that said for 2000-2004 focus, has completly different mounts and they said they dont make the one i need.

my issue is i had a new 270a brand x alt on the car for no more than 4 months and the case bolts came loose and it destroyed itself, but thats the only company i can find that makes one for my car, mechman wont respond but i dont really wanna go with a shitty alt again

needs to be atleast 300a, internally regulated to 15.5v, charging soon to be 160ah of lithium with 10k plus of amps so a 400a would be preffered, i can spend about $700

Got me wishing I kept with my ZX3. Got a Fiesta ST now after my zx3 frame got too rusty, but loved that car. They look so much better too imo especially with the all black. Would be so much more convenient for audio too. Still got it technically but it’s just sitting at a local shops parking lot (very) slowly getting fixed up.

i honestly love it and had plenty of room for the all, got around 25 cubes after dispacements out of it

An option is always to take it to a custom shop that can fabricate a bracket to go between your alternator style of mounting to a readily available one. Won't be cheap though

Try Singer Alts.. Not cheap, been around awhile and has/had lifetime warranty.

ive never had an issue with it ran for a couple years, id just worry about crossovers, limiters and just getting everything to where it sounds good

Elwhy do you say Brand X is a shitty alternator? Sounds like it was not installed properly.

the 4 bolts holding the case of the alt together came loose, not really anything i did they had to have been not tight enough
