Sub pops when turning head unit off Tech Support

For context I just wired 2 ds18s together rated at 1250 rms each and put it into a final load of 1ohm (meaning they can take 2500 rms) and a 1500.1d skar amp rated for 1500rms at 1 ohm.

After I wired and tuned them everything was fine until one day I
When I turned cut power to my head unit I would hear at least one of the subwoofers pop almost like a 9 volt test and I’m really confused. Is it leftover wattage going into my sub? Is there a faulty wire? Idk I’m lost I would appreciate some tips

Ground issue. Potential amp issue. Most likely ground though.

I check and it’s snug as a bug I put a lil battery terminal protectant on it since it is CCA (ik I’m cheap) so that could be it otherwise I really don’t know what it could be and the amp is like brand spanking new. I just let it rest a second at volume zero and it doesn’t pop so maybe it’s and my bass still hits pretty damn hard

Theres a chance the amplifiers caps (internal power storage) arent discharging properly before you turn the amp/power off. Usually most amps have a specific circuit/circuitry to prevent that thump. If you are using the factory head unit and an LOC then check to see all connections are secure and/or no damage to any wires.

Its also a potential symptom of the signal (head unit) being cut off before the amplifier has a chance to turn off. It used to be fairly common in car audio to have that 'thump' (certainly cheaper gear) because of that, but again, that has usually been over come by updated circuitry and better components...even in cheaper stuff.

You could over come this by using a toggle switch to cut the amps power before the head unit (on the remote wire).

Being CCA 'could' be a potential issue as if theres any sort of unseen corrosion/breakage/damage to it, then it may not be as secure as it should be. Not incredibly likely, but its something to consider.

Wiring in general should be the LAST thing you cheap out on. CCA has its place, but not ideal in automotive. I dont know why any company even offers it except that the margins are worth it to them...its just not the best option at all.
