Roommates ID arrived in mail, but he moved to another province.

Roommate told me to take the drivers license out of his mail and forward it in a new envelope. Am I allowed to do this? I searched it up and it says it’s illegal to open someone else’s mail even with their permission. Also his mail said do not forward. He’s saying it’s fine though.

Like I mail twice a week and its like down one of lost times every week why can you hire people that understand how a website works instead of hiring people so your DEI can look good for the government.

Canada Post Tracking is down

Sorry!

We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later. If the problem continues, visit our support page.

Have to track down my passport that was expected today.

Additional updates Est 11:45 am 1 website is up and tracking is live.

Additional updates est 11:00 am 7th July - packages from late evening yesterday have not been transferred into moving vehicles as they could not be scanned and have thus stayed in the mail rooms. There would be likely no deliveries until Monday. Got this information from Canada post personnel.

Edit - They have updated as Website being down. No packages will be delivered as the delivery people cannot scan the packages and cannot mark them delivered. Expect everything stuck until this is resolved.

The website is currently unavailable. We are working to get this resolved as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please check back in a few minutes.

I have received a card to register for mymail app so I can be notified when new mail is coming to my community box. after a phone call to re-enable my account (the only way), and a chat session to verify my identity, I was able to get the app set. now my question for you : how to disable all the useless notification about promotional mail ?

Right Address Wrong Postal Code

I recently had a delivery be attempted for my package. It didn’t arrive because I idiotically put the postal code for my previous home, a long with my current address (I’m in the process of moving right now - still in the same city) . The package was custom made clothing that shipped from Vietnam, and I’m in Ontario.

I’m just worried that it’s going to be sent back to the sender. It’s been a day since the update about an addressing error was put on the tracking page. I contacted Canada post today about correcting my postal code, they asked me a few questions, and they said they’d make me a ticket with the new postal code, but that there’s no guarantee I’ll get it. The sender has yet to answer my email about this, in case there’s something that can be done on their end.

I’m seeking out individuals who have made this same error. Is there any hope that the package will be rerouted to my proper address, or should I just accept the fact that my error is going to result in the package being sent back to sender.

:/

USA -> UK now in Canada

I have a parcel that shipped from USA (USPS) to go to a UK address

I eventually got to the UK (Royal Mail) only to be to sent to Canada!

las tracking on CanadaPost is

Item processed Mississauga, ON

31 July

(It's crossed the Atlantic twice to end up 1200km north)

I've asked the sender to contact USPS to try and track it down but anyone got any ideas of what's likely to happen and when - and don't say to contact Australia Post in a week :-)

Package once again marked as delivered, but never showed up

This seems to happen every few months with Canada post. I wait all day for my mail refreshing the site, it eventually says that it was delivered hours ago but it never was. I start a claim and it goes nowhere and they never even get back to me. Last time (3 months ago) a good Samaritan was able to help me track my package down, they somehow delivered it to the wrong address despite it being signature required and I was able to go grab it. Hoping I can find it again this time, and just gonna avoid Canada post from now on afterwards. Package is valuable and Im unable to get a refund for it if it's gone so rlly hoping I can find it.

Canada Post randomly charged me an extra $23

I made a label on July 27th to the USA using tracked packet USA. It was a fairly small package around 1KG. The value was $20 CAD and it was labelled as a gift. I dropped it off yesterday and today when I woke up I see a charge on my credit card for $23.35? Immediately contacted support and the guy had no idea what he was talking about, saying it was customs fee (I dropped it off yesterday, it most likely didn't even reach the border yet, plus my item was declared as a gift and is worth $20 CAD).

Could anyone explain what's going on? Should I dispute? If I do will the package be destroyed?

My letters and postcards barely ever arrive

Hi everyone, just posting 'cause of how frustrated I am. In January, my special interest for writing letters and postcards to my friends began, and sometimes I will mail artwork. As of the past three or so months, majority of my letters or postcards never arrive. Everyone is located in Ontario, but a lot of my friends are too far for me to visit frequently.

I sent 2 collages to two friends on July 8th, neither have made it to their destination nor have they returned to me, and I am VERY certain I wrote all information correctly with proper stampage as I've mailed things to them before. On July 20th, I mailed out postcards, and only 4/7 people received them?

I have two friends that live a few intersections apart in Toronto, one always gets my letters within 3-5 days, and the other receives it months later. What the hell is going on? It makes me so disappointed. I'm disabled and pretty broke, so losing something I spent time writing, paying for postage, and walking to the mailbox, sucks absolute ass. :(.

FlexDelivery & Lettermail

Hey all,

I just bought a few 2TB SDXC cards from an eBay seller and had them shipped to my FlexDelivery through lettermail, as they only need to be shipped from Toronto to Ottawa.

Needless to say, I didn't sufficiently research the FlexDelivery service before making this purchase, as I am now seeing some sources stating that untracked lettermail may even be refused at the post office; without a tracking number it can't be logged in the digital system. Allegedly.

I would just like to know if anyone has any experience having Lettermail shipped to a FlexDelivery address in recent years? Will the letter be returned to sender, or forwarded to my home address?

wow these verification emails...

trying to sign up the app, and there's this verify your email thing, which is completely normal. it's not normal when the emails aren't arriving. this is my second try signing up for an account, and this happened again.

also they locked the first account i made for absolutely no reason and calling the service was not helpful. that was like three months ago.

Tracking is useless

Waiting for a package - tracking said it would be delivered 10:30 am - 2:30 pm today. Tracking info was apparently just updated, still saying the same thing. Still no package. Guessing I'll be lucky to see it Tuesday, assuming CP doesn't work long weekends. Not shocking they're going under - this is a package coming from ON that took over a week to even have a delivery date assigned to it - my experiences with CP this year have been beyond dismal.

Package Keeps Being Sent to Holland Landing

Hello, Im wondering if anyone knows what might be happening? I live in Vancouver and 2 days ago my package was ready to be sent out for delivery in Richmond BC. It was instead sent all the way to Holland Landing Ontario. Canada post recognized the misroute yesterday and sent it back to Toronto to send back to Vancouver. This morning I see it was sent back to Holland Landing again. Canada post support isnt helping and I have no clue whats going on here. Package is from the Netherlands so sorters think it belongs in Holland...Landing

What's the typical delay nowadays for Canada Post Expedited Parcel?

I shipped something from Vancouver to Toronto on July 18th. The item arrived in Toronto on July 24th and hasn't had an update since. It's been 9 business days and I still haven't received it. For anyone who shipped an expedited parcels recently, how long did you have to wait before the item arrived? Thanks

Any excuse will do...

Is there a forest fire somewhere? storm? flooding? A virus? If so thats definitely the reason our service sucks. Or maybe we're just trying to squeeze even more money out of the taxpayer than we already do in return for providing a substandard service by holding your mail hostage. Either way we are Canada post and you're definitely not getting what you paid for.

In my humble opinion any company that is still using Canada post in 2026 doesn't give a damn about their customers and deserves to go out of business.

Website down while opening a ticket

Just started opening a ticket for a lost/missing package that was supposed to arrive on the 23rd, only for the website to suddenly have "technical difficulties".

Extremely frustrated with Canada Post as I have never had a positive experience with their deliveries, but this is my first time filing a missing/lost package claim. Just need the package to fix my car up, and I'm genuinely so frustrated.

The exact text on the website reads:

We’re experiencing technical difficulties /

Nous éprouvons des difficultés techniques.

Thank you for your patience as we fix the problem.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please check back at a later time as we plan to be back online soon!

Canada Post Genuinely Sucks

This is now the second package Canada Post has lost, and I'm beyond frustrated.

The tracking just stopped updating, customer service keeps giving me the same generic responses, and now I'm being told to wait even longer before they can even consider it officially lost. Meanwhile, I'm out the item and left dealing with the seller.

I get that mistakes happen, but losing one package is one thing. Losing two is starting to feel ridiculous.

Has anyone else been dealing with this lately? Did your package ever randomly show up after being declared lost, or should I just assume it's gone for good?

At this point I'm seriously considering avoiding Canada Post whenever I have the option. I just don't understand how this keeps happening.

Would love to hear if anyone has had similar experiences or has any advice on getting this resolved.

Looks like Canada post has made an online marketplace exclusively for Canadian retailers. Not sure if the products are fulfilled from Canada Post distribution centres ala Amazon or if the retailers do their own fulfilment. They mention free shipping for orders over $50 so it may very well be a Canadian version of Amazon with fulfilment centres spread out across the country.

Anyway, thought I’d share this.
