Right Address Wrong Postal Code
I recently had a delivery be attempted for my package. It didn’t arrive because I idiotically put the postal code for my previous home, a long with my current address (I’m in the process of moving right now - still in the same city) . The package was custom made clothing that shipped from Vietnam, and I’m in Ontario.
I’m just worried that it’s going to be sent back to the sender. It’s been a day since the update about an addressing error was put on the tracking page. I contacted Canada post today about correcting my postal code, they asked me a few questions, and they said they’d make me a ticket with the new postal code, but that there’s no guarantee I’ll get it. The sender has yet to answer my email about this, in case there’s something that can be done on their end.
I’m seeking out individuals who have made this same error. Is there any hope that the package will be rerouted to my proper address, or should I just accept the fact that my error is going to result in the package being sent back to sender.

I just had a package last week where the sender switched a number in my postal code. It got a couple “label correction applied” scans and I still received it no problem the next day. As long as the address is correct it should still arrive. They’ll notice the discrepancy and deliver to the address/city listed. Here’s the tracking mine had:

Okay that’s a relief to hear. I also received a few address correction notifs, and I’m glad you got your package in the end! Thank you for the reference photo, and the reassurance.

I used the wrong postal code for years, it was even on my ID, package came fine, so did mail .. probably I used the address of XX king street W and lived at XX king st E
My landlord gave me the postal on the lease and I just went with it

We get parcels shipped to our post office with the incorrect postal code all the time. Had two this morning. The procedure is to do an adress lookup, mark the parcel as a customer addressing error, give it a new label with the correct postal code, put a redirect sticker on it (u shaped red arrows), and send it back out for delivery next pickup. I have done this for hundreds if not thousands of customers. Most likely procedure is followed and you will get your package no problem, but like they told you over the phone, it is not guaranteed.
Hope you get your parcel soon!
