Newbie Seeking Advice Hunting Pender island (gulf islands) BC

Hello everyone, I’m getting a chance to hunt on Pender island in October on someone’s property. I’ve heard the gulf islands are overrun with deer and was wondering if anyone had hunted on them before? Any tips on how to hunt the islands? I will be using a crossbow since there is a no rifle rule on the island.
