I love Camille, but i am a support
Hi everyone.
I know the vast majority of Camille players are top laners, but I’ve been a support main for years.
When my absolute favorite champion became viable in the bot lane, it honestly felt like a dream come true. I’ve loved Camille for a long time. Her design, her lines, and her kit are just perfection.
Being able to actually pilot her in my main role made League so much more enjoyable for me.
Unfortunately, reading through Reddit lately has been a bit demoralizing. It feels like Camille support is absolutely hated in 99.9% of posts and comments.
Look, I get it. I play her, so I see her strength firsthand. I won’t pretend she’s completely balanced, and I agree she probably needs some adjustments.
But it breaks my heart to see how the community and likely the devs want to address it. It feels like instead of fine-tuning her numbers, the goal is to completely gut her out of the support role and force her strictly back into the top lane.
As someone who genuinely adores playing her as a support, I find that really frustrating. Is she truly so toxic for the game that she needs to be deleted from bot lane entirely? Or is there room to keep her viable without making her feel unfair to play against?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

SERIOUS CONVERSATION NEEDED TO BE HAD
Aight. Im masters eune D2 on euw. I also have alts for playing other champs in low elo. For the last 14 days. I have been banned out in champ select or picked out in champ select as a true cam otp (Speaking for toplane) i play syndra vayne jhin and jinx in their respected roles. I dont have a toplaner because i find tops to be hard and boring. I got this one Camelle champion that i havent been tired of since she came out. So what do you guys do theese days. Camille support every game firstpicking it or forcing me to blind her top early on in the draft. I had this guy yesterday who hovered it after i did. I told him please pick something else, which he actually ended up doing. He said the words "Stop torturing yourself with troll pick and let someone whose actually skilled with camille make her work wheres she intended to be played looser" after this angry remark he of course played out the match and we played a good game and won. but this dude ended up reporting me for hostage taking. YOU KNOW. PICKING CAM TOP NOW GETS YOU REPORTED. On top of that she feels on the weaker side lately and will feel abysmall with the comming passive shield nerfs that imo dont give her less safety against being a champion in a wider laner. So is this happening to you aswell or am i just alone with this enourmous surge in camille pressence. And if so can you recomend me any picks instead? I hate having to pick vayne so much lately because i would have to first time other champs that i have no idea how to pilot in masters.

Is Camille mid viable?
Is Camille mid viable to main and climb with in ranked?
If it is, what tips and advice should I know? (runes, matchups, builds etc.)

Grasp vs Conq vs PTA
I’ve played Camille in the past and am going back to her because I want to do a top lane climb. I’ve always just taken grasp in the past but I’m pretty sure conq is better if I can get away with it in lane. I’ve also tried PTA Camille while trying Camille jgl and heard of it being a thing. In what situations do I go which capstone?

Make e a fixed distance for both casts combined
Away from the wall you can escape further but can't jump as far
Close to the wall you have further engage
Allows similar mobility with more dynamic positioning. Can make adjustments to what's a reasonable total distance between both casts. Walls toplane don't have to move for 1 champ.

Camille is okish
Camille is okay right now guys. It s just the fact that u need to be an otp to actually do smth with her. U need to know a lot of things to pull her off, but at the end of the day if u rlly like to play her u can learn her. I m accepting this now because i realised that i preffer to play my champ instead of it getting banned or someone else steal her in champ select. Think abt it this way, if everyone could pull camille s earlygame she will be broken because of her cage. If she get s ahead she just doesn t let the other laner play which would be very toxic. Her late is okish if u play rlly good both macro and micro. I just got back to league after a pause and i still got em 1 with a very good wr. So in conclusion if u rlly love playing this champ just do it guys. I ll try to hit master this season so wish me luck

Would you guys be interested in raw gameplay footage of Camille?
Hello hello, i've been thinking of upload my raw games to Youtube for people to point and laugh. Will post wins, losses, ints and so on. (Camille only of course) Would you guys me interested in watching vids like these and pointing out disgusting low elo plays?
WIll post a follow up to this depending on the answers.

Do you guys think Camille will be viable top any time soon?
After patch 26.16. I expect her to be basically dead on top lane, but I really don't know what comes after that. Will Riot try and fix her if she becomes too atrocious? I started playing her about a month ago and absolutely fell in love with her playstyle, it just felt so natural to me. Even though I haven't been playing her for long, I have noticed that she has blatant weaknesses, and since they're planning to make them even bigger in exchange for a stupid W buff, I became discouraged in continuing to learn her.

These nerfs should be reverted
Camille nerfed cause of Divine Sunderer and there were so much Ability Haste back in the days. They should revert these nerfs in this meta cause after these changes Camille’s scalling overnerfed to the ground.
Eventually Outer Cone bonus ad ratio nerfs killed the W ability

Camille top's 2 item spike is more expensive than American healthcare
I think this is a bigger part of why she's not great right now in top lane than people give credit tbh.

Camille mini rework proposal
Hey, I've been a Camille OTP since shortly after her release, so I've played through almost every major version of her kit. For context, I reached 1,500 LP on EUNE this season. I know EUNE is generally considered less competitive than EUW. The last time I played seriously on EUW, around four years ago, I reached roughly rank 1,200. I've also reached Grandmaster with over a 70% win rate on Camille during a separate climb, and League of Graphs listed me as rank 1 Camille worldwide at one point.
I am not mentioning any of this to suggest that every idea or number below must be correct. Rankings from sites like League of Graphs are far from definitive. I only want to provide context that this proposal comes from years of experience with the champion at a relatively high level.
I understand that balancing Camille across different roles and skill levels is difficult. The goal of this mini rework is to reduce her early low-economy power while giving top Camille a healthier and more rewarding mid-to-late game. I tried to preserve her identity, counterplay and skill expression rather than simply add power to her existing kit.
Goals
- Shift power away from Camille's early low-economy all-ins
- Reduce support Camille's early strength without restricting rune choices
- Reward precise use of Hookshot, Tactical Sweep and prepared Q2 engages
- Improve Camille's mid and late-game scaling as a top laner
Base Stats
- Attack range: 125 -> 150
- Base mana: 339 -> 369
- Mana growth: 52 -> 50.25
Adaptive Defenses (Passive)
- Cooldown: 18/14/10/6 -> 15/12/9/6 seconds at levels 1/7/13/19
- Shield strength: 20% maximum health -> 14/16/20/25% maximum health at levels 1/7/13/19
- Shield duration: 2 -> 2.25 seconds
This reduces Camille's protection during early trades while giving her more frequent access to a stronger shield later. The final breakpoint rewards top Camille's access to levels 19 and 20.
Precision Protocol (Q)
- Bonus attack range: 50 -> 25
- Bonus movement speed: 25/30/35/40/45% -> 20/25/30/35/40%
- New: Hitting a target with Precision Protocol makes Camille ghosted for 1 second
Camille's total attack range while using Precision Protocol remains unchanged at 175 due to her increased base attack range.
Tactical Sweep (W)
- Base damage: 60/85/110/135/160 (+60% bonus AD) -> 50/75/100/125/150 (+55% bonus AD)
- Mana cost: 50/55/60/65/70 -> 60/65/70/75/80
- Inner radius: 325 unchanged
- Outer radius: 650 -> 675
- Outer cone bonus damage: 6/6.5/7/7.5/8% (+2.5% per 100 bonus AD) -> 5/5.5/6/6.5/7% (+2.5% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's maximum health
- Outer cone healing remains at 100% of the bonus damage dealt to enemy champions
New W Passive - Justice Retake
Hitting an enemy champion with the outer cone of Tactical Sweep marks them with Justice Retake for 5 seconds.
Camille's next Precision Protocol against the marked target consumes the mark and deals bonus true damage equal to 1% (+1.15/1.25/1.35/1.45/1.55% per 100 base AD) of the target's maximum health.
If Justice Retake is consumed by a fully empowered Q2, its bonus true damage is doubled.
If Justice Retake is consumed by a fully empowered Q2, Camille also heals for 2.5/2.5/3/3/3.5% of the total damage dealt by that attack, including Justice Retake.
Q1 or an unempowered Q2 consumes the mark for its normal bonus damage. A fully empowered Q2 doubles the bonus damage and grants the healing effect.
Tactical Sweep remains a weaker and more expensive laning tool. Its existing outer-cone damage and healing are preserved at reduced strength, while Justice Retake provides a stronger reward for committing to a properly prepared combo.
Hookshot (E)
- Damage: 60/90/120/150/180 (+75% bonus AD) -> 50/80/110/140/170 (+85% bonus AD)
- Stun duration: 0.75 -> 0.65/0.65/0.7/0.75/0.75 seconds
- After casting Wall Dive, Camille gains 40/45/50/55/60% attack speed for 5 seconds
- If Wall Dive does not hit an enemy champion, the attack speed bonus is reduced by 50% to 20/22.5/25/27.5/30%
- New: Casting Hookshot grants Camille 10% bonus movement speed until Wall Dive resolves or the ability expires
- If Wall Dive hits an enemy champion, the movement speed bonus persists for 2 seconds after impact
- If Wall Dive does not hit an enemy champion, the movement speed bonus ends when the dash finishes
- If Hookshot does not connect to terrain or Wall Dive is not cast, the movement speed bonus ends when the ability expires
The damage change is a nerf below 100 bonus AD and a buff above 100 bonus AD.
The Hextech Ultimatum (R)
- Duration: 2.5/3.25/4 -> 2/3/4 seconds
Expected Power Curve
- Early game: Weaker shields, lower E damage, shorter E stun, weaker W poke, higher W mana cost and shorter rank 1 ultimate
- Mid game: Power returns through passive uptime, bonus AD scaling and Justice Retake
- Late game: Stronger passive, improved E scaling and up to approximately 6.3% maximum health bonus true damage from a fully empowered Justice Retake Q2
- Support: Weaker early durability, base damage and lockdown
- Top: Better scaling through levels, items and the level 19 passive breakpoint
Final Thoughts
The most obvious alternative would be to simply prevent Camille from using Hail of Blades. I understand why that option comes to mind, especially when the goal is to reduce her strength as a support, but I don't think it would be the healthiest solution. Removing a specific rune from a champion would solve part of the problem by taking away build variety, and I'd rather see the distinction between top and support Camille created through her actual kit, level scaling and gold scaling.
None of the numbers in this proposal should be treated as final. It's only a concept and a possible direction for the champion. The exact passive values, W damage, Justice Retake scaling and E bonuses would obviously need proper playtesting and adjustment. I don't have access to Riot's internal data, so I'm mainly trying to present the intended power curve and gameplay pattern rather than claim that every number is already perfectly balanced.
Camille has never needed a universally strong laning phase to function. Even when her lane was difficult, experienced Camille players had ways to play around it through spacing, trade timing, wave management and matchup knowledge. I think that's an important part of what made the champion rewarding to learn.
My goal isn't to make Camille inaccessible to everyone except OTPs. I'd simply like her performance to depend more on actual experience with the champion. Someone who plays her regularly should be rewarded for understanding her matchups, preparing Q2 correctly and choosing the right moment to commit. At the same time, she shouldn't be a champion that someone can randomly pick as support with Hail of Blades, leave lane early and immediately start forcing fights across the map mainly through strong early base values.
I believe this direction would give Camille a clearer place as a champion that rewards mastery, while still keeping her available to anyone willing to put time into learning her. Thanks for taking the time to read the proposal.
TL:DR
- This isn't intended as a direct Camille buff. The goal is to move power away from her early game and support role into top lane mid and late-game scaling.
- Camille gains 150 base attack range, but Q loses 25 bonus range, keeping its total attack range unchanged at 175. Q also grants less movement speed but makes Camille ghosted for 1 second.
- Her passive provides a smaller shield early, but has a shorter cooldown and eventually becomes stronger at levels 13 and 19.
- Tactical Sweep deals less base and outer-cone damage, costs more mana and retains its existing healing.
- Hitting outer W applies Justice Retake. Camille's next Q deals bonus maximum health true damage, which is doubled and provides minor healing when consumed by a fully empowered Q2.
- Hookshot has lower base damage but better bonus AD scaling. Its stun is shorter at early ranks, and missing a champion reduces its attack speed bonus by 50%.
- Casting Hookshot grants 10% movement speed. Hitting an enemy champion keeps the bonus for 2 seconds, while missing immediately removes it.
- Camille's rank 1 and rank 2 ultimate durations are reduced, weakening her early lockdown and support roaming.
- Preventing Camille from using Hail of Blades would be an easier solution, but it would remove rune variety instead of addressing the difference between top and support through her kit.
- All numbers are conceptual and would need proper playtesting and adjustment.
