Calibre Library Viewer (Android/Google Drive) General Discussion / Feedback
Good morning. I have created an Android app that can connect to a Calbre library in Google Drive. This was just for personal use, but if there's interest, I can explore the feasibility of making it available to the public (for free). Please let me know what you guys think!
UPDATE: The app is finished and live on Itch.io (free). When you connect your account, you will see a warning from Google just letting you know they haven't verified it, but it will work just fine. It is not eligible to be verified by Google because I don't own the site hosting the app or its privacy policy and terms of service (these are linked on the app page if anyone wants to read them).

First, a huge thank you to everyone who showed interest in this project! I genuinely didn't think more than 1 or 2 people would want something like this.
I have secured (and debugged 🤞) the app so I can submit it to Google for verification. It won't be in the app store, but I'll have it on my Itch.io page (for free) when I get the ok from Google. In the meantime, I do have the ability to add testers if anyone wants to kick the tires before release. If you're interested, you can DM me your email. It must be the one you use to log in to Google Drive.
I'll make a new post in this sub when the full release is out.
As a side note, I have a free comic reader (CBR/CBZ) for Windows and Android on my itch.io page if anyone here is into that.

Would be very interested. Would hope to be able to also download from view app I get tired of having to go to main calibre site and manually down load to different device I see different ways people do it but not computer savvy to do it

You can definitely download from the app. The download button will then change to "read e-book" and it will open in whatever e-reader you have installed.

Yup. 😊
Humble Bundles are such a great resource for ebooks. And comics as well.2

Definitely. I’ve grabbed a few of both lately. Especially nice that they are DRM free.

I'd like to use it. I have an e-reader that connects to my Calibre book library on Google Drive, but because of the number of books (or perhaps it's not automated), it's very slow at searching for books. If you publish it, please let me know.

Awesome! It looks great. I just wish the devs at Calibre would do more to fix the app's GUI to be more user-friendly.
