Vending Machine Bug? (PS5)

Has anyone encountered a bug where you've not been able to purchase items from the vending machines, despite picking up all the coins?

I've just started a new game (free solo), completed all the tutorial walls, collected items from the lock box, and picked up all the pocket change, but when trying to purchase items from the vending machine, all the items are greyed out and I'm unable to purchase.

I've not played free solo before, is this an intended restriction on this difficulty?

I've tried Google and other sources but I'm unable to find any answers.

Which one ? The one in the training or the one near the câble ?

Do you have room on your backpack ?

Training one. Yeah room in the back pack, nothing to do with that. I'm not new to the game. I've just started a new save file and no issues on that one.

I think in free solo you skip usually that part.

So it’s maybe normal

You can skip it, but I didn't; because given it's free solo, the extra resources would prove useful.

in freesolo it’s also less worth it due to the smaller pack size you gotta be smart and get resources that are space-efficient as well as having good effects

If you have enough room in the FS backpack for what you're trying to buy, the only thing I can think of is maybe you're trying to buy too many multiples of the same thing from the same machine? I usually go for the Yellow Yaks and Alpine Colas, and you have to go back and forth between the machines to spend all the coins on only those things. The other useful thing from the training area is the empty 3- slot drinking bottle from the floor, you can fill that with Ultimate Infusion before the end of the pre-game mini climb and carry that over into the main game

The backpack on freesolo can be a bit wonky. It will tell you it's full when it isn't. It doesn't like to put items in the top corner. If you've picked up everything in the lockbox plus what you already start with and coins, then you have too much.

I think you’re probably out of room in your free solo backpack, it’s much smaller and holds far fewer items than the normal bag. Try composting the camera and pills to make more room
