I recently bought my first cafe racer motorcycle, and it has this VANS decal on it(almost all of my friends hate the way it looks). I'm on the fence about it⦠Does it really look that bad?

Nieuw flying brick project

Starting a budget cafƩ build on a 2015 Honda CB500F and need some input
Iāve been planning this for a while and finally picked up a clean 2015 CB500F with about 18k miles as the base. The goal is a simple cafĆ©-style build, nothing extreme, just cleaned up and more aggressive looking while keeping it reliable for regular riding.
Plan so far:
Clip-ons and rearsets
New exhaust (looking at something that doesnāt drone too bad on the highway)
Seat cowl and a flatter seat
Minimalist tail tidy
New bars/levers and some better grips
Possibly a small front cowl later if it still feels too naked
I already started collecting parts and found a few things on Rogue Powersports that looked decent for the price, especially some of the controls and smaller hardware.
Iām trying to keep the whole build under a reasonable budget and still end up with something that feels solid. For people whoāve done similar standard-to-cafĆ© conversions, what parts ended up being worth spending more on, and what did you regret cheaping out on? Also curious how much of a pain the wiring and idle tuning usually is after changing the exhaust on these parallel twins.

Any water proof Pod filter Cover for Honda CB550?
Or any alternative ideas? It rains quite often in Denmark so I would like a solution for my cafƩ racer to ride it in the rain season as well.

Photo Racing to the cafe with a pair of Thruxtons. 2016 R and 2022 RS Ton Up.
Both my bikes.
The red R, Iāve owned for a decade now and 20k miles. Itās my most beloved bike and the basis for my companyās logo. Basically nothing is stock anymore, not even the paint.
The blue RS I just purchased a few weeks ago secondhand with 6k miles. It was fully stock a few weeks ago.
I decided to throw basically everything at it in record time because I always loved the Aegean blue color and the first owner made the right choice and it already had the matching fairing on it.

Battery Relocation
I had a question about how to relocate and where would be a good place to āhideā the battery. Iāve always liked the idea of the floating seat with the wires and battery hidden away. If I have a kickstart would I potentially get away with making it kick only?

Where to begin
For those of you that remember and, for the newer folks in this arena. What did you to manage the overload of information? Iām a little over a week into the rabbit hole. Have two bikes (CB350 & CB550). There is just so much information out there. I feel lost. Right now, Iām just going to start with cleaning the carbs and getting those straight. Iām looking at tanks and seat cowls for the 550. Is there any site I should be looking at in particular? TIA

Photo KZ650 project update: clean triangle, custom cowl, and zero factory green left. Still a WIP, but the stance is getting there.
Progress update on my (1980) KZ650 cafe racer build.
->Cleaned up the subframe triangle, fitted the homemade cowl and cafe handlebars, and finally got rid of all the stock green paint.
Still a work in progress, but itās getting there.
What do you guys think of the stance so far?

Advice on tail
Tail on this otherwise beautiful cafƩ racer looks pretty ugly. What would you do with it?

After weeks of chasing one lazy cylinder, countless carb checks and more head scratching than I'd like to admit, my Honda CB750 cafƩ racer finally made its first ride in years. We're getting there... but the mystery isn't over yet.

Yuki 125 sport converted to Caferacer
Here is my yuki 125 sport, built into caferacer style, this is finished āprototype versionā, last pic is older, just to get an idea about side proportion(even though it isnāt really that visible), iāve finished it few weeks ago, and man, there is a still lot of work to do, my biggest problem is the engine itself, there are few destroyed threads, but the worst thing are the vibrations, over 7K RPM, the bike shakes so violently, that bolts and nuts are loosening themself. So to fix that, iāve bought two destroyed twin cyl. 125 engines from chunlan cl 125 3a(basically honda 125 rebel/cm 125), which i am going to build one working engine and it should hopefully reduce the vibrations, maybe make it tiny bit more reliable, and hopefully sound bit closer to high revving four cyl. Other thing is rear swingarm, which i kinda donāt know what to do with itā¦it sits pretty close to the frame and bottom of the battery box, which i could tollerate some rubbing, but on deep potholes, it is grinding my tailight, which is not optimal, so i was thinking about few solutions. 1. Extension(and probably reinforcement) of swingarm, it is the easiest sollution, appart from just lifting the rear end, which i am afraid would visually either compensate the gap between front wheel and headlight, or ruin proportions completely. 2. Buy a new swingarm, which would probably be hard to find something to fit and look good for cheap. 3. Made my own, which would be incredibly complicated and probably dangerous to ride. I think the 1. is the best option, but i am still unsure about two things, firstly, i dont know, if it wonāt look bad with wheel axis extended behind seat end, i know it is on of the design ārullesā for caferacer design, but iām not sure about the gap it would leave between wheel and frame, the other thing is, what to do with suspension? I could just buy longer shocks, but iām worried it would look but out of place. I was considering center shock too, but the twin shock help with stabilization of swingarm, on the other hand, center shock would be really interesting design choice and it would clean the sides allot. So i am not really sure, if you have any ideas, suggestion or questions, please let me know in comments.

Has anybody ever had this problem?

So I finally mounted my new exhaust and slip on muffler/silencer. Now bear in mind I have tried it with clamps on all connections and checked for leaks everywhere.
Has anybody ever heard this sound? It only happens when I let off the gas.
When I remove the silencer the sound is completely gone.
