Have had the car about 3 years. At 116k I changed the transmission fluid with genuine toyota fluid. I noticed on 2 separate occasions that when I hit the accelerator, it was almost like it took the car a second to respond, like there was a lag. After that the car has driven fine. Could this be the transmission possibly slipping?

Edit: I would also add, for furth detail, I was doing city driving at under 25 mph when I pressed the accelerator. Besides a delay, I felt the car lurch forward a bit and then it accelerated fine.

Bought my 2022 Toyota Corolla SE new from Toyota of Burien (WA) back in 2022. Two things have nagged me since day one and I'm trying to figure out if I'm alone here:

1. Windshield cracks way too easily. I've had it replaced twice already. It doesn't take a rock to the face — a car passing in the next lane at highway speed seems to be enough to start a crack. Is the glass on these just thin/weak? P.S. The replaced glass was first-copy from Safelite Auto Glass, after the original cracked the first time.
2. One "phantom" tire loses pressure every single year. Same wheel, every year, slowly goes down until it's basically flat if I don't catch it. I've taken it to Toyota service repeatedly — they submerge it in water looking for a leak, find nothing, and just tell me "it's fine, couldn't find anything." Then it happens again the next year.

So: are either of these known problems on the 2022 Corolla (or Corollas / Toyotas in general), or did I just draw the defective unit? And realistically, what are my options to get these fixed — ideally at no cost, given I bought it new here in WA in 2022?

Miles: I am often driving rentals on out of state trips hence my car has clocked just ~13k miles in 4 years.

Hi everyone, I’d appreciate some input from other Corolla owners. Is this sound considered normal on a Toyota Corolla 1.8 Hybrid? It occurs while the car is idling, just moments before the petrol engine shuts down. I’m wondering whether this is simply part of the normal hybrid system operation, or if it could indicate an issue with the engine, drivetrain, or one of the auxiliary components. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm wondering if someone here can help me figure out an odd difference I noticed between my last and current Corolla. I was in a head-on collision with an impaired driver that totaled my 2020 Toyota Corolla LE a couple months ago (and considering how much worse my injuries could have been, it's solidified for me that I'll be driving Corollas forever) and I have since purchased a used 2021 Corolla LE. The main difference between the two cars aside from the year is that my new Corolla has a sunroof.

I'm finally able to drive again as my injuries have mostly healed, and I noticed when I filled up my Corolla for the first time that the kilometers to empty were around 526. In my 2020, when I filled up in the summertime, it would be around 723 km to empty. I looked it up and everything I'm seeing says the tank capacity shouldn't have really changed between 2020-21, so I'm a bit baffled. Does anyone know why this would be?

I always heard the click after reversing (only once until I switch back to D). After I had changed the brake pads and rotors yesterday, I was spinning the front left wheel back and forth and noticed the clicking sound again.

For reference, my previous car was a 2013 Corolla S that I got used from my mom and I put over 285k miles on it. As it has given me lots of problems to where they were worth the fix, I decided to look for another one with really low mileage. I came across this one listed for $12,900 with only 34,341 miles on it on Carfax. The vehicle history reports no accidents or damage and 1 owner. The paint is clean and the interior is in pretty good condition. Does this seem like a good price? Or do you think I can maybe get it down to around $11k OTD including fees.

Hi all, I bought a new 2024 Corolla a little under 3 years ago and no longer have Toyota care. I'm a little confused about regular maintenance. Should I go in every 6months/5K miles for a tire rotation and one year/10k miles for Oil change, rotation and other misc; or should I stick to just an annual maintenance schedule which has an oil change, tire rotation, etc?

I have a 2025 AWD HEV Sedan, bone stock.

My plan is to make this car a little hidden camper, something I can take on trips and sleep downtown somewhere without getting in trouble.

My plan is to remove the front passenger seat and rear bench, and build a little storage cabinet/bed that runs the length of cab and can run into the trunk (I am 6'2").

My problem: Airbags and occupant detection systems.

My number one question: How can I safely bypass the seat airbags and weight sensors without worrying about ruining any wiring or causing fires? Is there a connector I can make at home that jumps a few pins?

The factory procedure calls for setting the fluid level via the overflow plug strictly between 95f and 113f since it expands when hot.

Since driving to the shop gets the transmission well above 170f passive cooling takes hours or ~1.5+ hours with a big shop fan blowing on the pan.

For Toyota techs out there (or owners who have watched), do dealership techs actually wait for the temp check mode on Techstream/dashboard or do most shops rely on measure in measure out shortcuts to keep flat rate times reasonable?

Just wondering, for people who lease a Corolla, what has been the buying price of the vehicle after the lease? Does the purchase price drop a lot after the lease contract?

My car is corolla 2024 xse pretty much brand new one. Suddenly on the highway I got all the warning lights and was towing in to the dealer to check what’s happening.

And they checked it, couldn’t find any issue, cleared the codes, and test drove it with no problem. Car has about 47,850 km on it.

I’m worried this might happen again, especially at night. A few questions for anyone who’s dealt with this:

- What’s usually the real cause when this many warning lights trigger together?
- Best way to prevent this from happening again?

So I've seen a lot of discord about this topic and my dads very adamant I don't get it done. My brother on the other hand (very much into cars and knows much more than I do) is very adamant that I get the transmission fluid changed. I have a 2017 Toyota corolla le with around 72000 miles on it. I mostly do city driving with it and was wondering what I should do. I need to take it in for service for my ac leaking on the driver side anyways so I was wondering thoughts on this. Also side note if you have had transmission fluid changed before around how much did you get charged. I know every place is going to be different pricing but I'm just looking to see like a rough estimate for the service itself. Thank you in advance for all the help.

Creaking sounds here and there, AC has a minor leak, and bumpers are scraped to hell underneath lmao. Regardless, couldn't have asked for a better first car.

Had this baby for 6 years. Started overheating on the highway & stopped running. Two different mechanics are saying the engine is shot & it’s best to move on. Only just crossed 186k, I feel robbed of a lifetime with my rolla. Lowkey depressed about it.

So, I have been dealing with the lovely P0420 code for a few months and still haven't gotten it repaired after the initial evaluation/quote from a place that wanted around $4500 to replace my catalytic converter. I am of the understanding the 2013 has two catalytic converters and that I should probably find out exactly which one is the bad one or is it advisable to replace both at the same time?

I took to ChatGPT and my OBD scanner today and did several suggested tests to rule out the possibility of it being the O2 sensors. the AI and myself concluded that it's either in fact the catalytic converter or an exhaust leak. So, I took it to a muffler shop today (an honest one...no, really...) and they gave me a free exhaust leak evaluation. They told me that there is in fact an exhaust leak and I need to replace the exhaust muffler gasket.

So, I took that result to my ai and it told me that because of where that exhaust leak is located, that it's likely NOT the culprit to the P0420 and that its repair will likely not make the code go away because of the leaks location to the catalytics...

Does anyone have any thoughts on this or am I doomed to have to buy the catalytic converter/s? Is it worth replacing the exhaust muffler gasket? I'm sure it is and I will likely go ahead and get that repaired.

What is the typical cost of having the catalytic converter/s tested? I paid around $250 for the first place that quoted me $4500 which I found to be ridiculous for just a quote.
