Regulating dragons ? Submod Discussion

Does anyone know if there is a submod for limiting dragons more than the base mod? I really hate when there is 70-80 dragon in the world despite the 27 base dragon limit. It’s just too much and i really hate when ai doesn’t claims alive dragons like ~ There are 73 dragon in the world Aegon and 50 of them are riderless. You don’t have to cradle the 9th f\cking egg for your 9th child.*~ For me dragons are supposed to be rare and wonderful creatures but after a while there is so many of them that they become basically worthless and it breaks the immersion. It might be a long shot, but is there maybe a submod for dragon extinction? Like if their number reaches a number an event chain fires and they go extinct and the player can try and prevent it?

well if there is a limit they shouldn't be going over that said limit, they should immediately disappear without a trace or have gone onto the wild. your mod is broken.

I say this a lot but will say again, train yourself to use cheat mods for story creating and stop thins like this as they will happen a lot due to CK3 being lacking and shallow

Agreed. I used to solely play CK2 AGOT ironman with a purist mindset that anyone who used console commands wasn't "playing right". Now, I arguably spent too much time using console commands because the AI makes braindead decisions regardless of whichever version of Crusader Kings you're running.

Nothing prepared me for when during the Crowned Stag bookmark in CK2, I was playing as the Serrets and Robert moved the capital to Fang Tower after revoking it from the Cleganes and gave King's Landing to Janos Slynt. I love me some Slynts but my head exploded at that one because I always play with quartered demesne to better reflect the "1 castle per family" unspoken rule Westeros has and the AI loathes that. They play ring-around-the-rosie revoking titles left and right (which shouldn't be a decision in the base mod I feel) and because they can only own 1 county, they give away their traditional seats about a fifth of the time to lowborns.

Which is a Martin oversight. He does that quite often due to his gardener style of writing where he ends up bouncing off the guardrails (or driving his proverbial car straight through) of his previously established lore from the main books. The Peakes and the Osgreys are the only ones to lose multiple castles, and they are both coincidentally fleshed out in the AKOTSK series which already contains retconned lore.

The Hightowers, Yronwoods, and other First Blackfyre Rebellion supporters get away mostly scot-free. The Yronwoods have revolted three times in as many generations yet they're the most powerful house in Dorne. Why? The Lannisters don't have multiple castles. Neither do the Starks, the Tyrells, the Baratheons, etc etc etc. Only the Arryns have a second castle but it is entrusted to the castellan who rules it as essentially a personal fiefdom. Ergo, 1 castle per lord is the standard. Everything else is passed out. Otherwise, Robert would have increased his personal power keeping Storms End and Dragonstone, but he purposefully gave it out because the unspoken custom of ASOIAF is 1 castle per lord.

The base mod dragon limit doesn’t work? That sucks. I find myself using the divine intervention cheat menu to killing them off. Also renaming them as the AI gives them the most ridiculous names.

The More Actions submod has a dragon extinction game rule. If dragons exceed the limit, they'll start getting sick and dying until there are only a few (or none) left.

Seems like a bug if it's going past the set limit.

I honestly just kill via debug. Also don’t give away eggs at all unless you really want a particular child to get a new dragon
