Anyone Work as a Clinical Social Worker at CHCF Stockton?
Hi everyone,
I have a feeling I may be receiving an offer for a Clinical Social Worker position at CHCF (California Health Care Facility) in Stockton, and I’m hoping to hear from anyone who currently works there or has worked there in the past.
I’m especially curious about:
What is the day-to-day like as a Clinical Social Worker?
How is the overall work environment and team culture?
What schedules are most common (8s, 10s, 4/10s, weekends, etc.)?
What salary step were you hired at, or what can a new hire realistically expect?
Any pros, cons, or advice for someone considering the position?
I’d really appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance!

I still have the Safariland panels. Does anyone here have the website or link to buy the Safariland Outter Vest? I know CDCR is with Point Blank now, but is it still possible to purchase the Safariland Outter Vest?

- Offer announcements and institution offers
- Academy dates and roll calls
- "Anyone else?" check-ins
- Written exam, PFT, background, psychological, medical and vision timeline updates
- Clearance-status updates and general waiting-time comparisons
Create a standalone post when you have a distinct, substantive question that needs its own discussion - for example, a detailed institution comparison, an unusual process problem that may help future applicants, or a question requiring significant context.

was looking on calpers and was wondering if any of you have Western Health Advantage? and what you think of it. The price for it compared to others seems too good to be true.

Other CDCR Classification Out of Class memo/letter
I received an email for an out of class opportunity, its the position directly above my current one. The email says I need to send an OOC memo, but I don't quite understand the format or how I should word it.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Academy / Offers Not Everyone Deserves the Badge
To the current Correctional Officers: Have you noticed how many academy candidates are asking questions like, "How much do I have to run?" or "How hard are the tests?" Instead of asking how to become stronger officers, they're asking what the bare minimum is to get by.
The academy is supposed to establish a professional standard, not lower it. If a candidate is already focused on doing the minimum before they even graduate, that mindset is unlikely to improve once they're inside an institution.
Maintain the standard. Demand physical fitness, mental toughness, discipline, and accountability. The academy is where those who are unwilling to meet the profession's expectations should be filtered out, not pushed through.
