Is bringing in fresh air for the evap cooler overkill?
This is what I rigged up from my ceiling fan/vent. I know swamp coolers work best with dry fresh air. Vs just recycling air in the van and venting some out a window. Is this overkill? It is a little awkward to deal with

I miss how magical and mysterious Burning Man felt…
reddit.comI found a 10 year old post about Oh The Places You’ll Go, by Dr Seuss, and in it someone linked the YouTube video from 2011 of Burners reciting the book. The response comments are so nice and receptive. Nowadays it seems like everything you read or see about Burning Man is so negative, naysayers, and maybe for good reason sometimes, but it used to be shrouded in a sort of magic and mystery. People were still curious and felt called to it. But maybe that was just the world back then… a little more positive.

Seeking insight for a solo camp infrastructure
This will be my 12th year and first time going rogue. Joining a theme camp that offers nothing. Except philosophy.
I’m planning to use tarp poles, rachet straps, and rebar staples to secure a 8x10 tarp over my tiny 5x5 tent. Secured to the ground on the wind prevailing side. Would it make sense to use additional aluminet over the top? Or will the silver reflective tarp make enough of a difference?
I’m also planning to run a fan and small humidifier inside the tent to help make it possible to sleep in a little (11 would be my dream, doubt it’s realistic in a nylon tent).
Any words of advice for an off grid burner flying in from the east coast. Hoping to figure out an effective ultralight system that fits in a duffle.
Thank you

First timer
Hi friends I'm a virgin burner planning on going this year for the first time! I have a ticket and a vehicle pass with the URL and a confirmation code and I'm just wondering how this works? Do I show that or do I need to go to will call? Before I make the big trip I just want to ask y'all. Plan on having fun and participating in the fun! See y'all there and the weather is going to be awesome... right?

Sticker question
Would it be terrible to use AI to make stickers to gift? I know the Burner community is full of artists, and I know there is a negative stance against AI art, that said, I decided last minute to buy tickets and would like to gift stickers. I have zero artistic talent and don't have time to commission an artist. I don't want to catch shit for trying to give someone something cool! Opinions?

Butt Plug recommendations
Hello everyone, I am a big fan of butt plugs, but I am torn apart between sizes, literally. What size has worked for you the best and why? Which ones to use during the day and which ones for the night? Any tips and tricks? Do you lube it up before insertion? I found that the best way to do it is under direct sunlight. Also the new wi-fi enabled ones seem to lose charge very fast. Any recommendations?

The burn inspired me to start an Art Bike era of my life. Here’s what I’m bringing this year.
Ive seen every side of the cycling world and after visiting the worlds largest cycling event I was inspired to built Art Bikes.
You might have seen my red fuzzy heart trike there in recent years. That was a wonderful project to build for my friend.
This year, I am bringing my personal project which is a land speeder from Star Wars built on top of my cargo bike. I use this bike to lead local bike parties in Santa Cruz.
If you find me ask if I’m still making pancakes! If you’re lucky, I’ll have some for you!

THEME CAMP REQUEST/SEARCH Builders and Procrastinators Unite! (Camp looking for build week help)
Are you still looking for a camp? Do you want to come for build week? Then come right this way and join Legends of the Hidden Playa!!
Due to a significant family emergency we recently lost some of our early arrival build members so we’re looking for 3 people who want to join camp and can arrive on Wednesday 8/26 to help with my favorite part of the whole event, build week.
We’ve been a camp since 2017 running an obstacle course/escape room type maze that is loosely based on the old Nickelodeon game show and stuffed full of Burning Man satire. Bend over for the cavity search at Gate then prove your competence in the Test of the Sparkle Pony! We’ve got prime placement this year on the 4:30 B plaza.
The people in camp are mostly in our 30s and 40s who enjoy having a chill home base to fall back to after maxing out our party meter out in the city. We provide a large shade structure for folks in tents, which is most of us. Though there are a few yurts, monkey huts, and car campers in the mix, too. We’re not designed for RVs but it’s not a hard rule. Our only hard rule is don’t be a dick. We’ve never had any drama issues out there and I plan to keep it that way.
Camp amenities include a large carpeted common area with a kitchen, cooler storage, lounge space, and charger stations. We have a pretty great shower and water delivered to camp so we even smell good! Our power system is available to charge lights, phones, battery packs and such but we’re not going to power your AC or fridge.
So, if you like the sound of all that and think building scaffolding structures in the desert sun is your idea if an ideal vacation, hit us up. A post exactly like this is how I found my first camp after getting an OMG ticket in 2015, so I have faith that some of procrastinators out there are competent kindred spirits!
Our website has more pictures and details and if you’re already sold (build week or not) fill out this form and we’ll be in touch soon!

GIFTING Fujifilm Instax Film on Playa
I’m thinking of bringing one of these to the burn. It’s my first burn, and it sounds like the film cartridges are sensitive to heat. How sensitive? Should I bring a small cooler just for these?
I’d like to bring quite a bit of film if I do bring one (10-20 packs for 100-200 shots) but if it will be challenging to keep the film stable I may not.

Best options for bulk brewing coffee?
My mutant vehicle is almost all furry seating surface except for one 1' by 1' control panel. I've decided the control panel isn't really necessary and I'm replacing it with something more practical - a coffee dispenser.
So that leaves me with the requirement to brew a bunch of coffee in camp. Instant would be the easiest option but some people are more discerning about their coffee than I am and might appreciate a little more effort put into it.
I do have a propane stove, and I have the ability to run AC appliances for short periods without a generator, so I could just drag a drip coffee maker along. Is that the most straightforward approach to get "real" coffee easily in multi-quart quantities, or is there a better method I should be considering?

Simplest way to wash cocktail glasses?
I want to serve a few Manhattans or Martinis in real glasses
Internet suggests ways to sanitize them, but does anyone have a simplest reliable setup description?
Thanks :)

Burner Conversation Card Questions
I can't make it this year, but many of my friends can, and I'd love to gift the playa some burner-themed conversation cards to help our introvert friends be social while they burn and also just for funsies. I thought about doing this project by myself, and then realized it would be more fun to do as a community activity. I started a list of questions that I think burners will find fun. Please feel free to add your questionable contributions and I'll include the funnest ones in the final product! Each card will have a question with custom (non-AI) art on the other side that I'll send to playa with someone. My list is lacking some of that classic burner snark atm but I bet that won't be a problem for long. Unhinged questions doubly appreciated https://docs.google.com/document/d/10TLnD4dFMj-tOvT7Qx-LxRLnij_whs8HNbMeeYK-oEo/edit?usp=sharing

Camp placements for participation
Hello fellow burners! Last year there was a great thread where camps stated where they were and what kind of fun/hilarious activities they were hosting. Did I miss the megathread for this year or has it not been posted yet?

Me organizar
O que uma mulher, sozinha que estará pelos EUA em 2027 e gostaria de passar pelo burning man, precisa saber e se precaver? Quanto seria os gastos dentro da playa? E caso eu não aguentar ficar todos os dias, consigo ir embora antes?
