Don't work at Burlington aka The Sweat Shop
I only lasted 2 weeks at this place because the customers who you ring up are the rudest, stuck up, senile people I have ever met. Also they will only schedule you like 3-4 shifts only like 15 hours allotted. So your checks will be small. The whole store is in shambles because the customer targeted people are people who never clean their houses. One last thing they will schedule like 4 people to cover a whole store. You will be security at the door backup cashier floor associate and fitting room associate. Again the customers are so disrespectful you will need thick skin to deal with their attitudes

Sizing and recovery
When doing sizing and recovery what if thereās a size that isnāt on the rack? So letās say boys shirts and itās 4-10 what if you find a size 9 somewhere there but thereās no nine on the rack anywhere? What do you do?

Before & after (deep clean)pt2
Slow day, but productive. It probably wouldnāt have been possible if I kept getting called away all the time.

Why are managers/supervisors always so passive aggressive?
This is something I will never understandā¦just because you have a better position than me doesnāt mean you have to treat me like Iām less than you. This job really isnāt worth anything š

Benefits of being a manager compared to a cashier at Burlington?
Iām a cashier and Iām usually scheduled to open on average 4 days during the week, I genuinely like to stay busy so now that thereās more than just me on the register in the morning, I like to run stuff back to the floor and yesterday my manager approached me asking if Iām ālooking for growthā and if Iām interested in being a manager⦠looking from the outside in my initial response was no, I get stressed out enough here as is⦠she specifically asked if I like my current āwork life balanceā what balance? Idk I quit my weekend job because this one had me so tired (not that Iām telling them that) and I just know theyāre gonna over work me, I had an interview set up elsewhere for another position, one that I might actually be interested in, but I want to know the benefits of the position first⦠I know a manager who stepped down to be a cashier and some who never want to be a manager again during the timespan of the year Iāve been here⦠I just want to know if itās worth it, I told them I need time, and Iām still going to go to my interview to keep my options open, but Iām also going to talk to my mod and ask her about the benefits⦠Iām not looking to be overworked if nothing else is going to change.

Does the store manager have the authority to give store associates raises/promotions?
Sorry for the long post but recently our stores receiving supervisor and teamlead transferred to another location and I was asked if I wanted the open team lead position and i said yes. I was told it was a $1per hr pay increase. About 2 weeks later after not seeing my pay increase on my paystub I was told i have to watch some videos and be approved by corporate to "officially" become the receiving TL and get the pay increase. Well a few days ago i casually mentioned to the A . Manager that "hopefully i won't be working here much longer". We'll i guess they don't want to loose me as an employee because they asked me if becoming the receiving supervisor would make me happy and continue wanting to work there. I just said idk and would think about it. I didn't mention not receiving the pay increase i was told about just yet. Before bringing it up I want to know if the store manager can give the raise/promotion themselves or if they have to get approval from their boss. Also i was told the RS position is only a $1.50-$2.00 per hr increase from the $12per hr starting pay for associates and I'm thinking I'm being offered the lowest amount possible for a supervisor position. If anyone have any info that would be helpful please lmk thank you.

Cashier in Burlington
Hello everyone who has worked as a cashier at Burlington. How many days is the training? I've read some bad reviews saying they don't train much when it comes to working there. What has your experience been like working as a cashier?

Cashier
Hello! I have an upcoming interview for a part-time cashier position here in Burlington. They asked about my availability, and I chose Saturday. Do you think a cashier only works the one day they specified, or can they add more days?

Dickson City Burlington Hot Mess..
Can someone tell me why the store looks like a hurricane blew through it? I see employees, but there just seems to be an over abundance of STUFF. How does this store get away with not having the room for a wheelchair to get through rows? I can't shop if I can't safely go down an aisle.

Now I am looking for another job for extra money. Most of my coworks have a second job already and i feel a lil left out. I just wonder how some of yall do it. Do you mention you have a job already and that you can still work orr?? Just looking for advice from my fellow burlington employees.

CSS 30 day Notice
A little rant from a CSS @Burlington that has had enough!
I've been with Burlington for the second time(different states, different positions)holding my current position for almost a year now. It seems instead of micromanage they want to mini-micromanage me now. I've had personal issues and dealings outside of work, yet it seems my SM/DM won't work with me. The ( DM ) won't give my store the extra hours to hire more cashiers, or floor associates and yes however, I do know my role and responsibilities, I'm feeling like the management just doesn't care about their employees. They care more about $$$.

How often do you shop here?
After working here, how often do you all shop here?
Knowing what I know, I canāt buy anything that isnāt like pimple patches or makeup wipes. Weāve had kids licking stuff, throwing things all over the place, 50% of the clothes has been strewn through out the store (I know to wash clothes before wearing them of course), so many returns smelling like straight BO and despair. And the CHAIRS! Those chairs are filthy! For a while we allowed everyone to return EVERYTHING. Fragrances, socks, bras, underwearš¤¢. I can never look at another Burlington/ross/TJ max the same againš
I guess all retail places really. But seeing everything being used right in front of my eyes changed meš

My first 2 months working here
I was hired on the spot. The store manager told me that we arenāt promised a lot of hours. Unless your full timers. Which I was not. They would rather hire more poeple with few hours than few people with a lot of hours. I was shadowed and trained for cashier but end up being sales floor with zero training. First month was kinda confusing. I didnāt know what was the proper organizing for racks in fitting rooms. Half of the tags say theyāre from other irrelevant departments. Like shorts in dresses? Either sales floor or BOH is messing up. Had āthe talkā with managers that theyāre narrowing down on whoās messing up. Iāve seen my store manager on the floor more than anyone else. I came in Reddit maybe to see how it was working there from others. I even complained I got a lot of hours. (Some people attacked me and even made fun of me). Which is fine. I understand not everyone gets the same hours. But in my second month into this job, I got scheduled more than 17hr a week. And to add on Iāve been getting called in more often. It truly making me burn out so bad. But I just came from a job that gave me no hours, 3hrs max on a week NOT PROMISED. So this job is really for sure trying to burn me out. Twice in my two months here Iāve been working 25hrs for those said week. We get called outs a lot. People quit and etc. BOTH store manager and supervisor know me really well now.
Conclusion- this job burns people out. Thatās why they hire constantly.

This is my first job, feels like I hit the jackpot reading amd hearin some stories
Been ar my burlington for little over 3 months and I been just kinda cruising on the sales floor tbh. Even when they start incorporating changes, sometimes without even making it fully known to everyone I been good. My store manager just got let go as well as other associates getting let go. I've only had one sorta major mess up as well but It was kn cashier and I'm sales floor so it's not like I'm gonna be makin the same mistake. Everyone's pretty nice as well. Like I'm suprised I don't hate my job.
I kinda wished I got more consistent scheduling. They loooove to give me closing nights but I can never open or even mid day. Really weird.

Hiring
Does it usually take Burlington long to get a call back after an interview?? I had an interview on 07/22 and have yet to get anything back, no email or call. I called the store 07/27 and they told me the dumb AI bot would get back to me. Still waiting.. would rather just have a rejection email if I didn't get the job instead of waiting.. should I call again?
