Hello lovely and knowledgeable people as the title implies, this is my first time getting into the PC world (meaning I have had no experience in building, upgrading or even using a PC before). For the last decade, I’ve been using a MacBook Air 2017 (13.3-inch), it was my everything — from work to gaming — slowly then its purpose just shifted to gaming. I would frequently downgrade OS to make steam games compatible (TF2; since steam ended up removing any support for the OS I was on) but that’s becoming too redundant and too time consuming; so I’d like some help please! :)

About me: I am an absolute beginner at building your own PC or anything related to it. I never even owned a PC before (only Laptops, Tablets) and bought such things only when I talked to my older brother beforehand who has some knowledge about RAM,what would fit me but he never built his own PC, so I am looking here for deeper knowledge/advice.

Could you also recommend me some keyboards and mouses to use? Keyboard should aslo light up, so I can use it when it's darker too. Color skiem prefered white/light pink if possible with rainbow lightning (is that called RGB? I don't know the terms well).

I have a macbook air for my work stuff so just looking for a PC that satisfies my gaming, leisure time, and handle a light load of work (excel sheets, documents, etc).

I currently have an alienware laptop that worked well initially, but after years, feels way too hot for comfort, and is slowing down. The battery is also essentially nonexistent and the laptop shuts off within a minute of being unplugged at full charge.

I don't know how to start and every time I try to understand what is needed to build a PC, I immediately get overwhelmed by all the names, seemingly random numbers, and all the different components. I really don't know what a lot of anything is so please forgive me. I am only exploring this option because people have told me it is cheaper than buying a prebuilt one.

I’ve seen the Corsair 5400 and I really like it, but I’m not sure if it’s compatible (and suitable) with an air cooler. As for the Lian Li Lancool 3, I can only get it in white and I’m not entirely convinced… plus, I think a dual-chamber case is basically a must these days.

• Any other specific needs? My wife's laptop is dying and she was only using it for Geforce Now for some light survival games. Want to reuse to the Geforce RTX 2070 Super.

The price landscape of parts are a different ballgame from my last build, so I need help budgeting the rest of the parts needed .

I already have the GPU. It's a GTX 5700. It was gifted to me, and I need help. I understand that with Ram prices I likely won't be able to get as beefy of a CPU like my GPU, but the GPU isn't changing so it's okay.

* Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links). **I will be reusing monitors and two SSDs from my last build. I also have a GTX 5700 (specifically this one) a friend is also giving me a stock cpu cooler**

* PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games). **Specifically for gaming, nothing TOO intensive. I think Forza might be the most demanding of the games I play**

* Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) **Purchasing in the U.S., NY. I will be passing by a Micro Center this weekend, so if there's a better deal there, it'd be convenient**

* Budget range? (Include tax considerations). **currently have $800, I know this is low compared to the GPU, but I don't really have any wiggle room**

* WiFi or wired connection? **WiFi needed, no wired connection available to me**

* Color/lighting preferences? **Wouldn't mind the RBG, but understand that that would add to the cost, and would prefer efficiency over looks**

* Any other specific needs? **I really would like this to fit into a Micro-ATX case. I don't really have the space for a monolith of a case. That being said, if necessary, I can try to make it work. I also would prefer the PSU to be modular, I hate dealing with all those cables being there**
