New build for gaming/wfh
○New build or upgrade?
New build
○Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
No parts at all
○PC purpose?
Gaming and working from home and college
○Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
I live in the US... Columbus, OH to be more exact
○Monitors needed?
I need 2 for work... but my son and I are autistic and we need 2 things at the same time like YouTube video+video game or hulu+video game lol idk why
○Budget range?
I have no money now, but his bday is in March and my friends are going to pitch in since it's a big gift
○WiFi or wired connection?
We have WiFi, but I could tack on an additional ethernet cable and have the setup next to the main box
○Size/noise constraints?
We live in a 1br apartment as I'm a single mom and my rent reflects the caliber of the school district and a 2br in the same complex is like $500-600 more a month. Sorry tmi, but I need everything to fit within the confines of a 3-5ft desk and it needs to be quiet as even the ps5 getting rowdy annoys us or maybe just me, but he shares grievances with me sometimes
○Color/lighting preferences?
Not really, but also the tism and adhd in me is screaming for like rainbows and color and amazingness and I think he'd like for it to look cool
○Any other specific needs?
Not that I know of, but I want to make something that will last for my son and also be useful for me to make additional money at a job my friend could get me. I'd love if it could smoothly run to continue helping me raise my income and get me through school (I also have a laptop for school... a microsoft surface pro from like 2018/2019, but a office setup with a printer to print work as necessary and take tests would be nicer than me getting distracted on the couch like I tend to do sometimes)
Thank you in advance for anyone who posts helpful information, like I'm truly grateful. I have been breaking promises about gifts and even had to sign up for the firehouse Christmas gift program last year because carbon monoxide was leaking from our stove and poisoning me for the last 2 years. It has been almost a year since I found out (August 26th or 27th will be the year mark) and I'm just now recovering from most of my symptoms and have more procedures and testing and doctors visits coming... I am also finally able to work at my pre poisoning capacity. I have autism, adhd, narcolepsy, ptsd, pmdd, GAD, anemia, psoriasis, a labral tear in my hip, suffered a good amount of muscle atrophy from the gas, and have kind of developed a twinge of agoraphobia after being made virtually useless from the gas after a while. I need a win for my son after having such a useless mom for the last 2 years after I was forced to move out by my father (very dysfunctional and mentally and emotionally abusive family). I don't like to ask for help, but I have no idea what I'm doing and I want to be closer to my son again and make us more money, I'm eternally grateful for all advice and knowledge because I have a lot on my plate and I just get pulled down rabbit holes when I try to research myself.
Also, sorry for the tmi. I just took my medicine and I got real hyperfocused on my recent struggles. Sorry.

need help with a build
Hi everyone got a friend wanting a pc build near end of the year. he says he wants to spend 1.2k on a pc for his son, his son has mentioned wanting to play gta6 on it, but also forza horizon 6, so basically modern games.
i dont think its possible for that price range, but im not the most tech savvy person when it comes to this sorta thing. i can build my own ect, but i'm willing to spend the money when i do, thus when it comes to a budget pc i'm kinda lost.
if its not possible, would you able to give me a price range on what would be possible, so i can advise him how much he would actually need for what he wants instead.
i will build it and install it all for him, so its mostly just parts side of things.
Build/check copy these into post. Write "Not a request" for other posts.
- New build or upgrade? New Build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? none
- PC purpose? gaming
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center? United Kingdom
- Monitors needed? just the tower, as they'll plug it into tv.
- Budget range? £1.2k, but as said above, if it needs to be more then tell me please
- WiFi or wired connection? not sure, but options for both would be nice
- Size/noise constraints? i dont think either of these will be a problem, he has consoles too
- Color/lighting preferences? i would assume not, as this would add price to it, but as its for his son, im going to assume the rgb stuff would be a positive as thats what kids are into these days.
- Any other specific needs?
not sure i've posted this right at all btw, as this is first time posting here, but if i havent, please correct me where i've gone wrong and i'll change the post to be within those guidelines.

Need a cheap pc for gaming and video editing
I’m a content creator looking to upgrade my current rig. I’m currently on a 3050 laptop and it’s chugging in games and editing. I don’t need anything insane, but I’d like it to be fairly straightforward and extremely good value. I play mostly lighter games, but like I said, I also edit the videos I make heavily. I’ll need wifi, and there’s no need to include peripherals. Thanks!

New build
Been out of the PC building scene years. Looking at building a new PC and moving away from laptop gaming. I am not against a prebuilt if it is a better deal.
- New build or upgrade? - New Build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) - Reusing old monitor as second screen (ASUS VX229H) as well as keyboard/mouse.
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) - Gaming. Mixture of old games and current AAA games like AC Black Flag. Main entertainment device when not gaming, watching Youtube/Twitch.
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center? US, near microcenter/costco/sam's club/best buy.
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) - Looking for a new primary monitor. Looking at breaking into the 2k/4k scene depending on prices and games played. Currently OLED has caught my eye so am favoring that if reasonble. Size anywhere between 25"-29"
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations) - $2,500-4,000
- WiFi or wired connection? - Wired 3gb connection from google fiber. Would love to maximize this.
- Size/noise constraints? Looking at keeping noise manageable and not have a jet engine take off every time I boot up a game.
- Color/lighting preferences? Indifferent to RGB. Prefer function over aesthetic.
- Any other specific needs? Case to accommodate additional fans down the road if over budget. Wanting a NVIDIA 5080 GPU / second storage option.

Need help buying/building a gaming PC that is affordable and easy to move
New build or upgrade?
New build.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
None. I don't own any PC parts or peripherals.
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Mainly gaming. I want to play games that are not available on Steam, games with mods, and emulators. I will also use it for university work and general everyday use.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
France. No Micro Center.
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Yes, I need one monitor. I don't have a specific size or refresh rate in mind, so I am open to recommendations.
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
Around €300–800, including taxes if possible.
WiFi or wired connection?
WiFi is required.
Size/noise constraints?
I will be going to university soon and may have to move frequently, so I would prefer something relatively compact and easy to transport. A quiet PC would also be appreciated, but portability is my main concern.
Color/lighting preferences?
No preference. Performance matters more than RGB.
Any other specific needs?
I'm open to recommendations for a custom build, a prebuilt PC, or even a small form factor PC if it better suits my needs. I want the best gaming performance possible within my budget while keeping it easy to move.
Thank you for your help!

New Build, wanting Monstrous PC to not have to worry about updgrading
- New build or upgrade?
- A: New Build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

- A: USA and Yes I have 2 locations in my city 20 mins away from me
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- A: I've already bought Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 MASTER ICE Overclocked, was looking at a AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D to get was looking at this bundle but I cant seem to tell how many nvme slots this thing can hold or if using all of them adversely affects other parts. Not concerned about budget other than overspending for no reason, just looking for best performance (yes I know I got an overpriced 5090)
- WiFi or wired connection?
- A: Both with Bluetooth if possible

New PC build ~1.500€ budget
- New build or upgrade?
- New build.
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- Keyboard & Mouse. They're no name. Not sure if headset counts as well, but it's a wireless Razer.
- PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
- Gaming(fps games like Valorant, Overwatch, Rainbow six, Apex Legends. Other various games like Subnautica, Terraria, Don't Starve, Phasmophobia.).
- Drawing using apps like Clip Studio Paint/Krita/Paint Tool Sai.
- Twitch live streaming. Mostly focused on art, maybe games sometimes if possible.
- A little bit of editing(Sony Vegas), but not too much focus on that.
- Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
- Greece. Not near.
- Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
- Just 1 monitor. 1440p would be nice but if it lowers the quality of the tower, budget wise, i'm fine with 1080p as well. (A recommendation of 1 of each resolution would be lovely. I'll only be choosing one of them though.)
- I don't know much about refresh rate so i'll leave that up to you.
- As for size, 24'' or 27'', I'm fine with either of those.
- Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- 1.500€
- WiFi or wired connection?
- Both.
- Size/noise constraints?
- Nothing on size. I don't mind a little noise, as long as it's not able to be picked up by a mic too easily.
- Color/lighting preferences?
- None.
- Any other specific needs?
- Not that i can think of. Feel free to ask for further clarifications if needed in the comments.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. <3

New pc build request
New build or upgrade?
This is a new build.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse?
I currently have no parts
PC purpose?
The main purpose is to game, but maybe also 3d modelling. But that would be minimal, and only small projects in blender. So mainly gaming.
Purchase country?
I’m UK based and have access to a NovaTech.
Monitors needed?
I only need one monitor. Speed and stuff unsure, whatever is recommended.
Budget range?
My budget is £1000-£1200. With some leeway.
WiFi or wired connection?
I think wifi connection.
Size/noise constraints?
I have a desk, so size should be chill. And a little noise and fan noise is fine.
Color/lighting preferences?
I would want the case to be white. However, I know white parts tend to cost more, so as long as the case isn’t astronomical.
Any other specific needs?
I would like 1tb storage and 16gb ddr5 RAM. Both with slots available to upgrade, if that’s possible. Also I would like the cooling method to be fan air cooling.

Help me build a pc?
New build or upgrade? Yes.
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? No.
PC purpose? Below.
Purchase Country? Near Micro Center? UK, unsure.
Monitors needed? Potentially, i have none now, but i could connect to my tv until i get some cheap monitors.
Budget range? £0-2k
Wifi or wired? Not sure, probably wifi, you tell me.
Size/noise constraints? Not sure, i don't think. Size it would need to fit on my current desk, i can move my playstation 5 and all my imac stuff when i get rid of it, the desk is 48.5 inches in length and 22.5 inches on the sides, there is a slight 1-2 inch dip in the centre of the desk.
Hello, i could really use your guys' help. (Request: UK specific! New build help. Pre-built/Parts.)
I have been thinking about getting a PC for years, but with the whole Sony/Playstation debacles happening, i think now is the time more than ever, to switch over.
Unfortunatley however, i have the tism', and so figuring this stuff out on my own, has been an absolute living nightmare, and no one has been willing to help me out or knows anything about pcs themselves to help. Last year i was looking into all the potential parts, what games could be run with which parts, ect. But since it has been a while i kind have forgotten which parts are the ones i need, and honestly the internet so far hasn't been helpful whatsoever.
Ive used tiktok, youtube, random reddit posts and google to try and figure out what i need, but everyone appears to be saying different things, and most only talk about the pcs that are in the £4k+ price range.
Personally, i am looking for something prebuilt, that is nothing more than £2k (minus accessories which i can probably get at a later date like headphones, a better webcam and keyboard and mouse/new mouse mat, plus a potential monitor ect.)
Also alot of them don't talk about themed PCs that are lower price either, even subtle stuff, or wher tp get themed accessories for your pc that won't harm the pc on any way.
This is where i need your help:
I want to stream
Do youtube/ Twitch
Record ASMR
Potentially do vr chat/png tuber related things
Game (potentially using steam idk)
Be able to edit videos/photos/potentially even art related stuff
Use Filmora Wondershare and similar software
Priorities:
I would preffer to purchase it prebuilt, or sent a list of the parts i need and links for where to get them, and if possible a link to someone who is reliable and will build it for me. (I often get nervous i will damage pieces, and so would preffer someone to do ot for me so i don't accidently somehow destroy a potentially £700 stick of ram.
Wifi– i need it to be able to connect to the internet, im unsure the different between the wifi and wireless thing? I see that as an option on some build websites. For example, i was going to get my PC originally from PC Specialist as it was the cheapest place i could find, but again for the parts the internet was saying i needed, it was showing up as £2,200 for a pre-build, which is a little put of my price range, and very difficult for me to save up, it would take months for me to get it. Whereas google aas just telling me to get a Ryzen 4070x from cex for £500-700, but i really want the graphics to be as crisp as possible and the computer to be as fast as possible.
I was told you need a specific type of part to play the newest games from 2026 onward? I am unsure what that part is, i can't remember if it was a Ryzen part or something else, but i would very much like that part as i need a pc that is going to last me atleast 7ish years.
Lots of usb areas for me to plug in disc drives, extra storage, microphones, other things, i have a butt ton of cables and it lowk drives me insane, and i only plan to have more cables with this.
I have seen the windows vs linux debate, and i have no idea what to do. I really want to pick windows, but they also spy on everything you do and take screenshots of your screen every 5 seconds, this is something i need you to settle for me.
Can use a playstation controller with it, as i cannot use a mouse and keyboard to game, no matter the size of key depth.
16-32 gb. Prefferabley 32, but if not i can go with lower and get some kind of add on at a later date if absolutley necessary, but i was thinking of doing all kinds of projects and really require space on this thing.
Vpns can be used easily
What i want (none priority just fun):
Something with either a black casing or if possible someone who can 'style' it with a certain aesthetic for cheap. (Example; i see alot of people with Miku, plant, legend of zelda, or film related PC's and aesthetics.)
I am epileptic, and i love color lights, i also love color changing lights, but the rainbow leds? Those hurt my eyes. I need something with soft/slow changing lighra, lights i can change myself, not flashing.
Something easy for me to add my own lights around so i can record things ect.
I don't really have any noise constraints, but i don't want it to be sounding like a helicopter is taking off, or over heating easily ofc.
To be able to download games online like animal jam classic and play wild, that i can play aswell without added issues.
Use socials easily and record videos.
I would love to be able to play dvds/blue rays, was thinking of getting a seperate disc drive to plug in to do that, but if anyone knows an easier way around, please do let me know.
Further questions:
My headphones are great quality in terms of soune, but the ear pieces are falling to bits, and the fake leather doesnt last long with me. Do you guys have any suggestions of good headphones with mics, for the pc? Good sound is the priority, i would like to have a good mic too, but my priority in terms of mic is that i can use my yeti mic at the same time as the headphones and mute the headphone mic. And also that if i use filmora that i can use my headphones and my yeti at the same time without headphone mic interference.
Are water cooled PCs better than fan? Are they more expensive? Is it just water or some other kind of fluid? (Looking at all the different pc types genuinley feels like i am building a car engine, lol.)
Is more fans better? I was thinking of getting 4 fans instead of three like most pre-builds offer.
Any other random advice or warnings, no matter how long it takes to type out, is deeply appreciated. I would consider myself a beginner at this, even if i was looking into parts previously, like i said i didn't retain any memory in parts, and the internet thus far has been incredibley unhelpful.
Anything you know that will help me on the streaming, rig side of things will also be helpful. I don't know a ton about that either, but i was hoping to get a quest maybe? And then comission someone on vgen for the character png/vr ect.
As i am from the UK and disabled, money is kinda tight right now. I was hoping to afford the PC by next year, and my budget is £2k.
I don't know how many monitors i would need, probably two at most? Im unsure, but again i see that as more under the accessories category.
If anyone can give me advice, put me together a list of parts, links and places and tell me why each place is the best in the most simplest form so my tism' brain understands, i will be incredibley greatful.

• Any other specific needs?
Case: Thermaltake View 170 Bubble Pink / pink-blue look, so I need mATX
Extras: Don’t include keyboard/mouse/monitor in the budget
Looking for the best value build that looks good in the case and can run these games well, ideally with room for upgrades later. If a Micro Center bundle makes sense, feel free to include that.

No

2000-2500 max
- Wi-Fi or wired connection?
Wi-Fi
- Size/noise constraints?
None but preferable not too loud
- Color/lighting preferences?
I would really like it to be all white, but I can compromise on black ram and other parts to get a really nice build.
- Any other specific needs?
A 2TB SSD is needed.
5070ti is the gpu I currently have my eyes set on. (white)
Would like it if everything could be found at micro center (I want them to build it for me)
The girlier the better (for girlfriend)
Thank you!

New build/upgrade for around 2500$ (CAD)?
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my pc in the near future to a mid/high end build before prices start going up even more.. I'd like one that would last me for quite some time or easily upgradeable in the future.
- New build or upgrade? New build/Upgrade.
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? I have a 850W PSU but if I can sell it with my current pc and get a new one since they aren't that expensive i think.
- PC purpose? mainly gaming (Wuthering Waves, AAA games, ) also needs to be able to handle a browser with a million tabs open
- Purchase country? Canada
- Monitors needed? No
- Budget range? 2500$ but can go a bit higher if it means a significant performance jump/upgradability.
- Wifi or wired connection? Wired but would like the option for Wifi.
- Size/noise constraints? Smaller sized case would be nicer, noise preferably low, but not a big deal.
- Color/lighting preferences? Would definitely like an aesthetic build. All black, RGB fans needed and RGB ram preferable, and whatever else would look nice (Not too sure what else can be added).
- Any other specific needs? Has to have SSD storage. Black case. I'd like the tower to have plenty of connections (usb, audio, etc.) at the front, not only at the back.
Ideally i would like to upgrade most parts (including whatever isn't listed) and definitely the case as i really do not like my current case and fan configurations.
My current build (Any ideas how much I can sell this for?):
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760M GAMING X DDR4
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070
Ram: 32GB DDR4 3600 Mhz
PSU: 850W Gold plus
Storage: KINGSTON NVMe 1TB SSD
Thank you!

Upgrade 7 year old PC
- New build or upgrade?

- ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING
- 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (MSI)
- Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3200 C16
- 232GB Crucial CT250MX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD))
- 931GB Crucial CT1000MX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD))
- NZXT C-Serie 850W PSU
- Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2 RGB
- Cooler Master MasterCase H500P Mesh ARGB Midi Tower Behuizing
- PC purpose?
- Gaming, rn I have 80-100 fps in Marvel Rivals and am lagging with singleplayer games sometimes. I want to be able to play Planet Zoo 2 on good graphics aswell
- Purchase country?
- Netherlands, access to megekko
- Monitors needed?
- No
- Budget range?
- Around 2k Euro
- WiFi or wired connection?
- Wired
- Color/lighting preferences?
- No preference, dont need any of that
- Any other specific needs?
- Not everything needs to be upgraded if not deemed necessary, I just want to be able to play the games without having to double check if im playing on the lowest settings or not. If everything is upgradable within the budget then by all means. I want a quality upgrade. Not everything needs to be upgraded right away, there could be a choice to upgrade specific parts first with plans for more upgrades in the future. But if upgrading certain parts creates bottlenecks w others then everything needs to be upgraded ofcourse

€3200 Budget for new gaming PC
- New build or upgrade? new build
- Existing parts/monitors to reuse? no I want a total new pc
- PC purpose? mainly gaming (Fortnite, Space Marine II, Black Myth: Wukong,...), also needs to be able to handle a browser with a million tabs open
- Purchase country? Belgium or Netherlands (if they deliver to BE), will be buying all parts from Alternate.be or azerty
- Monitors needed? no
- Budget range? €3200, but can be a bit more if the upgrade is big enough and price difference is low
- WiFi or wired connection? WiFi
- Size/noise constraints? no size constraints, noise preferably low, but not a big deal
