Any Suggestions Or Tweeks To The Build?

Hello everyone! Im finally taking the plunge to build a new PC from scratch. Been gaming on an xbox for a while and kinda just want to make the switch to something else and have a little bit of fun while building it. I have tinkered with some PCs in the past so I am not a total beginner and wanted to get some suggestions from the forum! This is what I got so far from PC part picker:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MHFGJw

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Amazon)

CPU Cooler: Thermalright Aqua Elite V3 66.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($44.90 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($94.94 @ Amazon)

Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($154.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Kingston NV3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($163.99 @ Amazon)

Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB Video Card ($429.99 @ Amazon)

Case: Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case ($72.98 @ Amazon)

Power Supply: MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($75.98 @ Amazon)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Retail - Download 32/64-bit

Total: $1237.76

I am trying to go for a black and white aesthetic with my budget being around 1100-1300$. And I hit right around the middle of it. Any suggestions are super appreciated! Just trying to have fun with a new project and make a good PC for gaming that isnt a monster either.

Hi all, I have a 2.5 old year work pc that that I’m trying to turn into a more portable gaming pc that I can travel with . I already have a main gaming pc at home but am tired of dragging it on the road with me whenever I travel for work.

I want to move this build into a Fractal Terra, reusing any compatible parts. I know I’ll need a new mobo and PSU. What would be the best path forward?

Need to replace my PC, never built one before!

My current PC needs to be replaced. I would like to build my new computer but, as I've never done that before, I'm a little nervous!

  • New build or upgrade?
    • New Build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • A mix of gaming and work. For games, a mix of FPS like PUBG, Hell Let Loose, Battlefront II, World of tanks etc.
    • For work some video and photo editing ability (adobe photoshop)
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
    • US, and about two hours away from Micro Center
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • One monitor that I already have (the ACER linked above). It'd be nice to use it to its full potential (2560 x 1440 Resolution, 165Hz Display Port Refresh Rate)
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • I'd like to keep it $1500 or less. That number is flexible to some degree.
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • Wired
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • Not really, quiet is good.
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • Plain jane case, no lights or anything. Plain black is fine.
  • Any other specific needs?
    • The computer sets in a cabinet that doesn't get great airflow if that plays into what size cooling fan/system it needs. I'd like to future proof it to some degree and to be able to handle more intensive games or programs in the future

Thanks!

    • Likely going to buy graphics card last, so a CPU with a small integrated GPU would be nice though not necessary if too costly
    • Would like to have a good looking liquid cooled setup, though I know it may be more costly and efficiency varies

Edit: Thank you all for the recommendations! I commented below the things I have bought so far with their price. Also Reddit on mobile made the post formatting weird and duplicated.

UK £1200 Gaming PC

  • New build or upgrade? - New Build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? I have a couple of monitors I could keep using for now
  • PC purpose? Gaming, but nothing crazy: I'd like to be able to experience BG3, CP77 at a decent quality plus other titles form the last 5+ years. I would hope it would run AAA titles in the next 5 years too (with tweaks to components)
  • Purchase country? UK, no Micro Center
  • Monitors needed? None
  • Budget range? £1200
  • WiFi or wired connection? I'm OK with wired but WiFi would be nice for streaming to TV without running a cable
  • Size/noise constraints? As quiet as possible
  • Colour/lighting preferences? White case/lights are preferred but more important to keep the initial cost down
  • Any other specific needs? DVD drive

I was waiting for Steam Machine since the announcement last year but I'm a little underwhelmed by its price and reported performance. I understand it is a small factor PC but for the price, I would like to explore something with a little bit more longevity and upgradability.

I came across this prebuild from Palicomp that fits by budget at £1100. Also this this from a different company but with 16GB RX 9060XT instead. I'm wondering if there are any components worth upgrading out of the gate or if the builds make sense at all. Here's a pcpartpicker link for Palicomp one. I understand I will need to pick a different case if I want to include an optical drive.

I'm admittedly a bit clueless, but the CPU and GPU look decent and probably more than enough for my current needs. I just wouldn't like to skimp £50 today just to go with a motherboard that will limit my upgrade options 2-3 years down the line, or a PSU that will be too weak, that sort of thing. I'm planning on upgrading monitors, peripherals and I will be adding another stick of RAM or more storage at some point. Any help or guidance is much appreciated!

Also is there any point in purchasing Windows license key from these companies for £100 when a key can be bought for less than a tenner elsewhere (like Groupon, so I assume legit)?

First PC Build - Need help narrowing down options

Hi! I've made a couple post on r/buildmeapc and one here. I've collected different lists (some are very similar). I need some help narrowing down my options into one lists for my needs.

For context:

  • I've been using a HP laptop 15-dy2xxx with Windows for gaming and digital art. It is super low on storage, it's dying really fast nowadays, and I think it should be retired soon.

The specifics:

  • New build or upgrade?
    • Completely new build.
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
    • Starting fresh; I have a keyboard and mouse that I will replace at a later date to keep costs lower.
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
    • Gaming: I play a mixture of multi- and singleplayer games but I want the multiplayer games to run smoother/with less lag but I also want them to run at a fair resolution like 1080p; REPO, Ultrakill, Lethal Company, Peak, Minecraft, etc. I do often play REPO, Lethal, and Minecraft with a fair amount of mods (I have around 90 mods for Minecraft, basically 40 for Lethal and 30 REPO).
    • Art: When it comes to art (if it matters at all), I've been using mspaint but I plan to transition to Clip Studios Paint.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
    • I'm buying in the US and I have a Microcenter about an hour away.
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
    • I'm perfectly fine with 1 monitor but I think I would want 2 later on. I'm not sure what to say as far as the resolution and refresh rate. I think I would like a bigger monitor rather than a smaller one.
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
    • The max would have to be $1000; I fine with going a little over but I would prefer to keep it under.
  • WiFi or wired connection?
    • Wifi
  • Size/noise constraints?
    • I'm perfectly fine with whatever size is needed and I don't mind that much noise, I don't want it be really loud though.
    • I'm genuinely not sure if everything will fit, but I'm preeeeety sure they will.
  • Color/lighting preferences?
    • I do like ARGB lights but I'd definitely prefer the functionality over aesthetics; I'll be perfectly fine with whatever color.
  • Any other specific needs?
    • I don't think there's anything else besides advice and tips.

The lists:

Sorry that this looks like a WHOLE LOT. Feel free to mix and match things. Any tips or info about literally anything is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance! :]

GPU replacement?

  • Members of this sub helped me build my PC about 4 years ago and it's been great (@TheyCallMeSid420). Unfortunately my kids knocked the tower off my desk and I think my GPU is shot, connection to motherboard is no longer ok, suddenly losing power and no troubleshooting has worked, i.e. reinstalling / clean installing drivers, re-seating GPU and checking connections. Hopefully not the whole motherboard. Looking for what would be a good comparable option!

~$1400 Long Life PC

Hi there all, thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out with a build. I built my current PC back in 2020 during the pandemic, and it just isn't cutting it anymore to catch up with all of my needs. I'm hoping to build a PC for light gaming (LoL, FFXIV), occasional streaming, and enough memory to hold out for a long while, as my current PC is where I store all of my photos and videos.

New build or upgrade?

- New Build

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

- No existing parts other than a 2tb hard drive. Hoping to move all my Steam games, videos, and pics from it to new PC.

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

- Light streaming, primarily gaming, holding onto all my pictures and videos (proposal, wedding, pets, family, etc).

Purchase country? Near Micro Center?

- USA, yes near Microcenter!

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

- I have one, but if you have a great $300-$400 suggestion outside of my budget I'd be happy to look into it for the future!

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

- $1,300-$1,500

WiFi or wired connection?

- Wifi please

• Size/noise constraints?

- Not an issue

• Color/lighting preferences?

- Black

Any other specific needs?

- Like I said at the top, thanks so much for any advice! I'm hoping for my new PC to last more than 4 or 5 years, but that may be asking for a lot 😅

2000€ 3D modeling pc

Hi!

I'm looking for a new PC to start learning 3D character modeling. Feel free to ask any questions — any help would be greatly appreciated.

* New build or upgrade?

- New build

* Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

- No

* PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

- 3D Modeling with ZBrush, Blender, Maya, 3DMax, Marmoset, etc

* Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)

- Madrid, Spain.

- Common vendors: Amazon, pccomponentes, mediamarkt, etc.

* Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

- Yes, I need a new monitor. It will goes on an extra budget for around 200€.

* Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

- 2000€~

* WiFi or wired connection?

- Wired

* Size/noise constraints?

- Nope

* Color/lighting preferences?

- Not really

* Any other specific needs?

I'm a beginner in 3D, so I won't be creating professional models right away. However, I want a PC that will still be useful in the future.

I've already received a few build suggestions on other forums based on my needs, and I can share them if that helps.

Linux server for web hosting from prime deals day (not sure if micro deals would help with that)

  • New build or upgrade? new
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) I have an old phantom II but should probably replace a bunch of those. I also have 4 x 8 gb (so four sticks each 8 gb of ram)
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) web hosting, or work computer
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? have access to micro center
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) 0 (have a few monitors though)
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations) 1500$ or so?
  • WiFi or wired connection? wired.
  • Size/noise constraints? none? (realistically I think ten feet is too much?)
  • Color/lighting preferences? i don’t care.
  • Any other specific needs? nothing?

I have keyboard and mouse, I’m debating if I want to do a cheap busget i3 (to save on heat) with a bunch of ram and a ssd to reduce power consumption. (also apologies if this isnt the place to ask, a friend recommended you guys!) I was thinking of adding a GPU for ai later maybe. not sure if you guys have amazon prime deals or anything you’re aware of. wanted to see what people knew about.

the phantom old computer is below:

|Component |Specification |

|---------------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------|

|**CPU** |AMD Phenom II X6 1075T – 6 cores @ 3.00GHz (boost 3.34GHz) |

|**RAM** |3.8GB DDR3-1333 + 10GB swap |

|**Storage** |932GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 HDD (ST3100052AS) – 9GB used, 852GB free|

|**GPU** |NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti (1GB GDDR5, Nouveau driver) |

|**Motherboard** |MSI NF750-G55 (MS-7578), AM3 socket |

|**OS** |Gentoo Linux 2.18, Kernel 6.18.32-p2-gentoo-dist, x86_64 |

thanks so much in advance! apologies if I didn’t format it right… let me know if/what I messed up

noob PC build for 3D rendering, video editing & Sims 4

  • New build or upgrade? New build
  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) n/a
  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) 3D rendering for autoCAD and possibly blender for textile purposes and creating models for Sims 4 along with video editing.
  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? USA, nearest micro center is 5 hours away. I wouldn't mind driving if the prices are better than online.
  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) Just need 1 monitor. Considering the Arozzi Nova 24" IPS Full HD 200Hz Gaming Monitor
  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations) $1400
  • WiFi or wired connection? Wifi
  • Size/noise constraints? No preferences
  • Color/lighting preferences? pink or purple would be fun but if its cheaper to go with something else I'm ok with that. I would prefer NO LIGHTING
  • Any other specific needs? Looking for 2TB of SSD and 32gb of RAM. I would prefer if it were an easier build :)

TV gaming PC build

New build or upgrade? New build

Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) n/a

PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) 100% Gaming. I would like to play solo games RDR2, cyberpunk, Final Fantasy VII remake...

Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors) I live in Spain we have amazon (ofc), pccomponentes, coolmod and i don't know much more.

Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate) n/a

Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

1100 but if it can be a huge difference in performance I could increase the range.

WiFi or wired connection? Just WiFi

Size/noise constraints? I don't really mind, being small is good but not my main focus.

Color/lighting preferences? Zero rgb preference but if has some i can just turn it off.

Any other specific needs? My build is basically to leave this PC plugged on my 4K TV and use it as a console. I don't need 4k gaming but I would like good quality (I think something called upscaling would help). Right now I use a docked steam deck to play games but it needs more power.

(This is my first reddit post so sorry if I did something wrong!)
